@Peauela @madeleine85 @annlee3817 thanks for your input ladies.
My first measurement at 16 weeks was 28.4, then at 18 weeks I was 26.2, 20 weeks I was 26.3 and 22 weeks I was 26.4 so really no change in my last 3 scans.

I've got my final one this morning so will see what the outcome is.
I'll more than likely stay at home because I will never forgive myself if anything happened but as the holiday is getting closer I'm just feeling really down knowing I'm on my own for a full week.

Finally got to hear baby's heartbeat yesterday though which was lovely because last time it was being a little monkey

amorningperson · 23/05/2022 08:48

@madeleine85 Yeah it's my second too! So, similar to you, with DC1 I was much more active - running up to around 7 months, and also working a lot (50 hour weeks!) on my feet - until 35 weeks when I started taking some of my annual leave before mat leave. I did some yoga and dog walking too.

When I went on Mat leave I would go on loooong walks and swim most days... But yeah this time around I'm working a more senior, admin style role, and also I have DC2 so I have less hours, I walk the dog at least once a day but not for as long as I would like because life seems sooo busy! I feel a lot heavier in my PFM this time too so after being on my feet all day I get a bit sore! Anyways I'm determined to turn it around so I've started swimming again and have bought some second hand dumbbells and a prenatal workout app. My labour first time was very smooth nd I do think it was because I was so fit, so I really want to get back into the groove (safely).

amorningperson · 23/05/2022 08:52

Good luck with your scan @MummyToBe2022 - I'm sorry you'll miss your holiday we all very much need some rest and sunshine right now. Are there things you can plan that you really enjoy? Like stuff you wouldn't usually do?

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 23/05/2022 09:48

Morning ladies,

Last night DH felt our little lady kicking, it was lovely to see the smile on his face.

My hips are hurting me so much this pregnancy, I'm thinking of starting to go swimming to see if they would help? They are really bad at night time, I can't get comfortable in bed. The lying bastard pregnancy pillow is no help.

I walked over 2 miles on Saturday and my goodness the pain in my hips after! I felt so unfit, 2 miles never used to bother me. I need to do something about keeping fit and activate though!

Belle2210 · 23/05/2022 09:52

@TurqoiseDreamCatcher This is me too. Hips get so sore even just from doing the house cleaning. My midwife gave me a bump tubigrip which does help a bit. Horrible though as don't want to be doing much so feeling bleh and lazy.

SoOverThisCrap · 23/05/2022 11:08

I'm so rubbish at staying on top of this thread but I hope everyone is doing ok?
I'm feeling little one kicking away throughout the day and evening which is reassuring. I'm 22 weeks 4 days today and have an anterior placenta. Sciatica is off and on at the moment, I got stuck sitting on the floor playing with my 5 year old DD on Saturday and she had to help me get up as my husband wasn't there 🤦‍♀️
Pregnancy insomnia is also off and on but we're also in the process of selling our house and buying one, with the aim of moving in august, so it's all a bit hectic 🥴😱

annlee3817 · 23/05/2022 11:46

For those with hip pain, might be worth trying out a basic bump support for when you're out walking, can't help on the sleep side, I'm kind of wedged between the sections of the pillow half on my back and half on my side and never really comfy

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 23/05/2022 11:59

@Belle2210 - sorry you are suffering too, I find it hard to walk too. I just waddle slowly! I'll research a bump tubigrip. Did you contact your midwife especially for it? I'm not seeing my midwife until the end of June 🙄

@SoOverThisCrapi have pregnancy insomnia too - its the worse. We moved house on December, I got pregnant two weeks later 😳🤣 I take my hat off to you moving during pregnancy.

@annlee3817 have you got any information on bump support? I'm willing to try anything. Thank you.

annlee3817 · 23/05/2022 12:56

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher I got mine off of Vinted, but loads on Amazon, mine sits just under it and takes the pressure off

Sweetbabydust1989 · 23/05/2022 13:21

Is anyone else nesting?? Oh my I just pulled loads of wallpaper off the walls 🙈😂 xx

MummyToBe2022 · 23/05/2022 18:02

So the sonographers (I had 3 in with me) were very happy with my cervix.
It hasn't shortened at all and todays measurement was back to 28.
One even said it wasn't short at all and absolutely normal for my gestation.

I've been given the all clear to go away as I'm not at risk and myself and baby are healthy with regards to heartbeat and movements and blood pressure and urine samples.

The midwives told me to go and enjoy myself and get waited on hand and foot by the husband and kids 😀

Excellent news! I hope your family follow the medical orders to wait on you 🤣

madeleine85 · 23/05/2022 19:00

@MummyToBe2022 that is fantastic news!!! Congratulations and go enjoy a sunbeam and being pampered rotten :).

26 weeks tomorrow and I am utterly exhausted. I got up, got my toddler ready, showered and vacuumed, and had to take a nap for 20 minutes before I could work. I never remember it being like this the last time! Hope everyone else has more energy and is running around keeping busy! GD test on Thursday... praying for a pass after all my junk food of late!

amorningperson · 23/05/2022 19:02

@MummyToBe2022 amazing news!!!!

HaresHoping · 23/05/2022 19:09

Yay that's brilliant news @MummyToBe2022 🥳 go and have a fab time!

I am also having trouble walking and starting to waddle 😔 it's my lower back rather than my hips, just seizes up. I'm doing Pilates once a week which helps I think. Starting an Aquanatal class in mid June too which hopefully will help again.

I am also exhausted and just want to nap CONSTANTLY 😂 25 weeks tomorrow.

annlee3817 · 23/05/2022 20:09

@MummyToBe2022 that's great news, really happy for you 🙌 hope you have and amazing time and come back all refreshed

Belle2210 · 23/05/2022 22:42

@MummyToBe2022 That's great news and must besuch a relief for you 😊.

My midwife offered the tubigrip when I mentioned having hip pain. Do you have a contact number? Sure you'd be able to go past and collect one I'd imagine.

I've been nesting too 🙈😂 doesn't help that most of the house is in some form of being half done up currently 😬

GlitteryGreen · 24/05/2022 11:58

@Sweetbabydust1989 I think I am! I am obsessing over all the stuff we need to get rid of in order to make some room for the baby's things - we are in a one-bed flat. Tbh it's a real concern though so might just be genuine stress 😂

WallsH20 · 24/05/2022 16:09

So lovely to read everyone's updates💛
I'm also at home with a little one who has had the sickness bug. She's over the worst now and getting her energy back. So horrible for them!

I haven't posted since I asked about babies size a couple of weeks ago. I had an emergency scan at the FMU and the consultant wasn't concerned. Baby boy has gone from 6th centile at 20+4 to 17th centile at 22+1. So big jump! Still a little anxious but feeling better. Thank you to everyone who offered advice and support🥰

madeleine85 · 24/05/2022 17:00

@GlitteryGreen you will be totally fine in a 1 bed, for at least a while. We are in a 2 bed flat with a 2 year old, so will be a little similar as we are trying to keep things "normal" for her and not take away her space. So really she gets half the flat. It is going to be a juggling act to be honest to keep things to my OCD clutter free liking! I find it hard that I can't set up a nursery, because i'm hiding all the baby stuff right now in cupboards, under beds etc until we actually need it. I guess in early to mid August I'll have to start moving some of it out, to at least get the dog used to the changes. On the up side, 26 weeks today, one more till some of us earlier due date people start hitting the 3rd trimester!!

amorningperson · 24/05/2022 19:06

24 weeks this week- feels like a big milestone due to the viability stats! Feeling good, more exercise is making me feel much more energetic mentally.

@GlitteryGreen we were in a one bed for my first and I loved it. We did declutter A LOT and got lots of storage up on walls etc to help with getting things off the floor. But honestly it was so great, barely any space to clean, and DC could roam freely once he was crawling without risks of stairs etc. we are now in a 2 bed so similar too- baby’s stuff hiding in our box room stacked up. Looking forward to making a real space but can’t indulge the nesting craving just yet :)

Redapple21 · 24/05/2022 23:44

24+1 and oh my gosh the baby is moving so much the last few days! Currently wide awake as it won't stop jumping about! Not sure if it's got hiccup's? Is it too early for that? I guess it's getting stronger now, and I can see it's kicks visibly...my sleeps been pretty good the last couple of months, hope this isn't the start of sleepless nights for me already, eek! Anyone else feel stronger kicks all of a sudden?

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 25/05/2022 08:29

@Redapple21 I have had loads of movement over the last few days. I love it! It makes feel like I can really bond with the baby instead of carrying round a massive lump of concrete.

I'm feeling this one much more than DD1, they are both anterior placentas but this one is at the bottom blocking the exit. I get lots of movement in the front of my tummy underneath my belly button.

Redapple21 · 25/05/2022 11:04

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher ah yes it's so lovely isn't it to feel them much more and know they're getting stronger. My placenta is also down by the exit but at the back, so that's why I can probably feel so much. It honestly kept me awake for ages last night as it was so strong! Think it was having a party in there!

ALYGirl · 25/05/2022 11:57

Finally I can feel my little boy moving. It took until nearly 26 weeks (anterior placenta) but I can now feel proper kicks. Suffering with back and hip pain but so excited, and my husband has felt a couple as well. Half Term for me next week and we are going to stay at the venue we had our wedding at and I've treated myself to a pregnancy massage ❤
