Just ordered our buggy! Got it in the outlet section of the out n about website. Got it in bright blue which I'm sure will cause a few comments as we're having a girl lol but we like it

I had a blue pram for my dd. I loved the colour! Didn't give a crap what anyone else thought, I'm the one pushing it!! 💜

HaresHoping · 21/05/2022 08:34

Yay nice one @annlee3817! I've just had a nose, is it the Nipper you've gone for? Lovely colour if so 😍 nice to have something different!

annlee3817 · 21/05/2022 08:35

@HaresHoping yes the nipper, we had it for DD and stupidly sold it, loved it though

HaresHoping · 21/05/2022 09:34

@annlee3817 it looks really good. We need to go and test some out I think, I need to wait until the football season is over first as it is taking up all of DH's weekends atm 😂

Sweetbabydust1989 · 21/05/2022 12:07

@Peauela she is definitely strange but I have slept on it had a lovely chat with my mum this morning and decided to put it to the back of my head she will not steal our thunder and my pregnancy bubble will continue to go on like it was... I am more angry at her than my brother he was quiet upset on the phone to my mum as he said he wanted to wait due to financial and work commitments and the fact their ones are very young but she obviously thought differently and the fact they were heading for a divorce 3 months ago says it all really but anyway that's her I am not like that I am the bigger person lol I think once people no the whole story than they realise that she is a crank lol

my other sister in law is amazing funny enough we had the same due date last year but I lost mine and she had hers she was so lovely about it all just sent me a text saying say she had the baby and she wanted me to no first to no I was so happy for her as she really did go through the mill like we did but this sister in law doesn't give a shit she treats it all like a competition who gets the best pram etc when I am not like that I am quite private. Our baby is a blessing not going to go into buggy wars and designer stuff with her have no interest at all xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 21/05/2022 12:09

Help ladies is it too early to buy a crib I have discount codes coming through especially for the snuzpod but not sure if I will jinx myself I am 23 weeks Monday xx

MummyToBe2022 · 21/05/2022 16:55

@Sweetbabydust1989 she doesn't sound nice at all and sorry that you have had to go through this.

Does anyone have any advice, obviously I will talk to the midwife at my next appointment but I'm a bit stuck in limbo.

Thing is I have been having regular scans due to cell removal a few years ago. My cervical length has been ok and they have been scanning me every 2 weeks. My last scan showed no difference and still measuring at 26, I have my next scan on Monday which will be my last as I'm 24 weeks today.

Sorry I will get to the point. We are due to go away next Saturday but I decided weeks ago before my first cervical scan that I wouldn't go because after reading a post I frightened myself that I may go into early labour if I fly with a short cervix.

Is 26 (if it still stays like that) a short cervix at 24 weeks and what would you ladies do? Go on holiday with the family or stay at home on your own.

I hope that all makes sense. When I first decided not to go I thought I would need a stitch and everything (again Googling too much) but now that I've got to 24 weeks and have had no issues with my cervix I don't know if I should just go as I'm worrying over nothing.

What would you do? X

stimpyyouidiot · 21/05/2022 21:46

Oh god. I'm starting to feel quite sick. I was hoping I had avoided the bug. Please don't be that :(

madeleine85 · 21/05/2022 23:58

@MummyToBe2022 only you can really decide, but due to covid and pregnancy I’m very much staying home from now till when this one comes. I have a 26 week checkup this week and I’m going to have to tell the doctor I’ve on/off had painful Braxton Hicks the last month (I think). If something were to go wrong here, at least I’m near by to my hospital which has a nicu and I know where to go/what to do. Given my prior pre term DD experience I’m just not ok risking anything so close to the finish line. I’m a pretty risk adverse person though.

annlee3817 · 22/05/2022 06:04

@MummyToBe2022 it's difficult to say, they say anything over 2.5 is fine, what was it when you started having checks? And is your final check before you leave? Mine shortened at 24 weeks to 2.4 from 3.4 the previous week in my last pregnancy (cells removed nine months before), worth chatting to your consultant about it. This pregnancy it's behaved and was still over 3 at the last check, but going by the previous one I wouldn't be comfortable going abroad

Peauela · 22/05/2022 08:13

@MummyToBe2022 I think it's quite short but ask your doctor at your next visit. 💕 having said that, we are going on holiday in two weeks and I never had my cervix length checked? 😅

amorningperson · 22/05/2022 08:28

@stimpyyouidiot hoping it’s not that! Fingers crossed for you!!!!

@Sweetbabydust1989 Sounds really stressful. Of course the healthiest thing is to not let it bother you but that’s really not helpful because it’s so hard not to. Glad you’ve got good support system. I had a strange friend who would do things like this (like kind of copy cat stuff) and it turned out she had a really bad mental health condition (BPD) so try to think of her doing this as her problem most likely and not yours! Live your life!!!!

so exciting to see all these purchases- don’t know why and sometimes I worry that I’m some mad consumerist? But I dunno I think it’s this feeling of ‘reality’ or concrete fact that there will be babies in these buggies and cots and clothes… or maybe I am just some crazy consumerist nut!

I’ve made the mistake of weight myself today. Jeeeeez I just blah! I’m getting genuinely worried about getting so big I can’t have a natural birth or something. I know that workout thread has been abandoned but I have to do soemthing to at least stay fit- I don’t know why I can’t seem to prioritise it! Anyone here regularly workout? Tell me moreeee!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/05/2022 14:28

@amorningperson oh honestly my hormones are now in check I am not bothered no more I am just getting annoyed with the whole texting constantly asking me about what buggy iam getting, baby names (thankfully I will have mine first so she won't be stealing it 😂) showing me she has done her nursery already at only 3 months gone.., I am happy for my brother but the family kinda have a disgruntled relationship with her she always has to do one better than everyone else when we are all very chilled. I am letting her crack on she will not spoil anything for me at all I am back in my own bubble enjoying everyday. My mum is amazing she is so excited for me considering my losses last year xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/05/2022 15:14

Just received my first batch of clothes I ordered in the sales omg they're so adorable I don't want to this pregnancy to end I am really enjoying it now apart from 18 weeks of morning sickness 🙈 as I am taking to my little lady while getting them out she is kicking away. I am nervous about having a girl as she is our first girl it's going to be completely different especially nappy changing my boys always set the sprinklers off when I opened their nappies 😂 are there any tips for girl nappy changing especially the dirty ones 😂 xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/05/2022 15:20

@MummyToBe2022 she is crazy but my hormones are in check now they were raging the other day I must admit I might blame it on the heat too 😂 I am not letting her pregnancy get in the way of ours I will be stupid too she can try to compete with us she will win as it will only be her in the competition as I will not be participating at all I am big enough and ugly enough to let it go over my head it's just been quite funny as I have had a few family members message me saying is pregnancy the new family trend atm 😂 obviously a sly dig at her and I have been very mature about it all just the constant messages are a drain I had to tell my brother that it needs to spot I am high risk and don't need the crap xx

madeleine85 · 22/05/2022 16:27

@amorningperson not sure what pregnancy number you’re on, it’s 2 for me, but I’m much slower and larger this time around. I was still running at 32 weeks last time, but at 25/26 I’m already down to walking/yoga. If I run I get sciatica but if I do nothing I also get sciatica. Ive found the peloton app has good hiking workouts which can be done on any treadmill. Basically I get on and for somewhere 20-45 mins I walk on an incline. Not great but it’s something. I also have a big but lazy dog who gets a daily walk, doesn’t need much though. I think I might try a weights workout today (les mills) and just avoid the lying on back portion. It’s so hard to not become a slug, and I know staying active does make labour easier. What are you doing for it at the moment?

Also I think my chocolate aversion is returning, and is now accompanied by ice cream aversions (makes me go to sleep instantly and feel awful) 🤦‍♀️

madeleine85 · 22/05/2022 16:31

@Peauela last pregnancy I didn’t know I was high risk but the dr told me to move forward my wedding reception which was 6 weeks before due date (we were flying in). Just as well, the baby came on that exact date! I last flew a month before then, a 6hour flight at 30 weeks, and honestly it was uncomfortable as hell. But that was my only complaint. If your dr says ok and totes low risk then go for it, but with risk factors and general discomfort, I’d rather stay home with a hot water bottle on my back and a good book!

Peauela · 22/05/2022 17:14

@madeleine85 I'll be only 24 weeks and feeling generally fine ☺️

Butterflytulip · 22/05/2022 19:50

@amorningperson I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes so iv been told to eat better, use my fitness pal and also exercise! So I started back at gym. I cross train for 10 minutes, use the recumbent bike for 10-15 mins and then lift 2kg weights doing some arm exercises seated. Feel so much better for going. Swimming is next when I have more time (have a toddler at home).

Redapple21 · 22/05/2022 21:24

24 weeks tomorrow and just seen the baby kick from the outside for the first time ....it was crazy! I have been staring at my bump for a while tonight hoping to catch it...baby is liveliest in the evenings for me...anyway a big kick and wow, I saw my whole bump 'boom' it was so great!!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/05/2022 21:26

I am 23 weeks tomorrow and my little lady does the same thing they can see light from the outside so to show my other half I put my torch on my tummy and she goes wild 😂 xx
