@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat congratulations!
@Bubbasmama2017 I feel so amazing, I haven't felt so good in a long long time. I'm running on not my normal amount of sleep and my appetites less I just have so much energy. TMI but basically stopped bleeding just an on off discharge I'm 8 days PP today. Had a slight tear like I had with my son, causing me no problems thought it may burn to wee and hurt to poop but all is fine so far. I feared that recovery would be hellish tbh, the only problem I have is swollen feet and ankles only one pair of new sliders fit but they are coming down lol
I think because this pregnancy was so chaotic and half of it I was bedbound i can really feel the difference x

Bubbasmama2017 · 30/04/2022 17:38

@YummyMummyXoX sounds very positive!

H0peing · 30/04/2022 20:14

@YummyMummyXoX So pleased to hear that you're recovering well after all you've been through! You deserve it! Lots of love xx

H0peing · 30/04/2022 20:16

@Yellowbelly12 My due date is 10th May! Xx

YummyMummyXoX · 01/05/2022 08:03

@H0peing @Bubbasmama2017 ♥️♥️♥️

I'm just so excited for us all to have our babies on the group who is the last due date of the month? Crazy to think wasn't due til 16th but my body got her out on its own still can not believe it 😱

2nd night now of waking once Friday night woke 1.50am then slept until nearly 7am last night woke at 4am again Til about 7. Think I've caught up on a few hours. She's so good atm just greedy haha

How's everyone feeling? x

H0peing · 01/05/2022 08:57

@YummyMummyXoX It's great that you're managing to catch up on some sleep! My due date is 10th May. I feel very impatient lol! With my DS I wasn't in a rush for him to arrive on or before the due date but with gestational diabetes and being 40 they've mentioned risks etc so I feel more pressure this time to give birth within a specific time period. I also had no other children to arrange childcare for last time so it definitely feels more complicated this time.

I knew that sweeps don't always work but I didn't expect that my Midwife wouldn't even be able to reach it to do a sweep! My mum is now staying to help look after my DS until Thursday so hoping she arrives by then! Still having period type cramps, lower back pain, Braxton Hicks contractions and I've been told she's really low down 2/5 engaged but there's nothing to indicate I'm close enough to actual labour yet. I'm still trying everything I can to help the process along. Two more sweeps booked in before the induction on due date. Xx

Kittycaz · 01/05/2022 09:09

Morning ladies I had my long walk yesterday and even caught sun on my face. After an hour of the walk (mainly uphill) started cramping and feeling uncomfortable I pushed through it and after getting to the park went to use the bathroom and there was a tiny speck of blood in my discharge which got me stupidly excited I thought I'd done it. Continued my walk home and felt very dizzy and tired so had to get a taxi back rather than force my way back. Got home and relaxed getting more excited as the cramps got stronger and stronger. I then went to bed thinking oooo am gonna wake up in middle of night and go hospital. I woke up a few times to wee but no dice. Am cramping again just very slightly. So think I got excited for no reason not had any more blood either. 5 days til my due date. Looks like I'm defo having a may baby now. X

I'm due 11th may, had some really crap sleep the last few nights and feeling quite emotional and overwhelmed today :-( gone back to bed but feel bad my hubby is looking after DD a lot of the time when he's not working. Bump feels sore and think I had some mild cramps in the night but no braxton Hicks or any other signs.

YummyMummyXoX · 01/05/2022 09:36

@H0peing and @Bubbasmama2017
I can understand I also felt emotional out of control and quite anxious. The childcare thing will hopefully work itself out. Up to the day I had no set plan who was going to have DS but on the day everyone pulled through and he was fine it just worked out. My induction was booked for tomorrow at 1000!
Both your signs seem v similar to mine the day before I went into labour and ended up at triage. Baring in mind my cervix was closed obviously no dilation. Working 24 hours I was 4cm so your signs are great. I'm waiting for updates and having fingers crossed.
I had 2 sweeps with DS one at around 40+0 and one at 41+2 went into labour 2 days later so unsure if it was just time or the sweeps. X

Bubbasmama2017 · 01/05/2022 10:17

@Kittycaz It sounds like early stages for you when do you see the midwife again? I don't think I'm seeing mine for another 10 days or so just after 40 weeks.
I've got a couple of friends/friends of friends due around the same time and I feel like it's a bit of a race to see who goes first, is anyone else worried about someone taking your baby name??

icf90 · 01/05/2022 11:19

Just found these groups on here now but thought I'd share my exciting news! We've been booked in for c-section tomorrow at 7AM! So excited to meet this little baby! Due date was 11th May but due to having an emergency c-section with my twins previously because I couldn't push them out and was then told I have a small pelvis but I carry big babies! Will update if anything happens! x

H0peing · 01/05/2022 11:48

@Kittycaz They all seem like positive signs that you're body is getting ready for labour so hopefully your baby will be here soon! Xx

H0peing · 01/05/2022 11:52

@YummyMummyXoX Do you think there's anything you did that helped to bring on labour? Are you saying that you went from a closed cervix to 4cm in only 24 hours? Xx

WildButterfly · 01/05/2022 12:01

Hi everyone, can I please join the thread?

I’m 37 weeks and due on May 21st. It’s my second pregnancy but first in the U.K., and my first one was 21 years ago (had her at 17!), so it feels like a lot of firsts, if that makes sense.

My DD was premature (34 weeks) so I’ve been on the pre term clinic at the hospital and having constant cervix checks up until 28 weeks, it was all fine.

I had hypertension before pregnancy so have been put on BP medicine from the start, and they’ve just upped the dose a few weeks ago as it keeps creeping up. It seems to be stable now with the higher dose, even low, but I do have weekly hospital appointments to check BP profile, urine and bloods for PE and baby’s movements, so far all fine.

Had a growth scan at 34 weeks and baby was measuring 97th percentile, so had a chat with a consultant who mentioned inducing at 39 weeks if she carries on measuring big. She booked me in for another growth scan, but no date so far. I will ask about it again on Tuesday when I go in for my weekly appt.

congratulations to all of you welcoming your babies! 🎉💕

Kittycaz · 01/05/2022 12:06

@Bubbasmama2017 I next see her on the 10th May when I have my sweep when I'll be 40+4.
Welcome @WildButterfly .

Goodluck for tomorrow @icf90

@H0peing I Don't think there is anything as I wasn't trying to bring it on I was only 36-+3!
All's I can remember is tmi intercourse a few days before. And yes I went from 0 dilated when leaving triage last Thursday afternoon to 4cm the Fri afternoon and then as few hours later 7cm. when your bodies ready it's ready right! Xx

@Kittycaz thank you! Fingers crossed your baby comes very soon (just caught up on the thread).

@Zibidee I’ve had a similar experience with a consultant after my growth scan. Baby was measuring on the 97th Centile, so she went on about risks of delivering closer to due date and the possible need of forceps, even mentioning scars and dislocating baby’s shoulder! All very unpleasant. I was very happy to be well informed, as I know for a fact that these scans can be very inaccurate, they make a prediction of weight based on measurements, and all scans I had privately mentioned my baby having long legs, so I’m sure that can affect the results. I am 38 and also with a high BMI, but no GD. She requested another growth scan to confirm, but I’ve received no date from the hospital yet. I am trying to be as informed as possible so I can make the right choices regarding induction, etc.

YfenniChristie · 01/05/2022 14:11

Hey ladies, I'm having a bit of a wobble today.

I think it's occuring to me that I'm not going to have the birth I wanted. I really wanted to avoid having an epidural, a cannula and a catheter. I also wanted to avoid the use of forceps etc. But I've been told that it's highly likely I'll have an epidural because it helps manage high blood pressure, and with that comes the possibility of all the things I don't want.

I don't know. I feel like I'm being melodramatic; it's not like I've gone over my birth preferences with anyone during the whole process, and I've been quite blasé about the whole thing until now.

Zibidee · 01/05/2022 14:37

@YfenniChristie this is exactly where I was last week after a consultant phone appointment. I have to say after a follow up with consultant midwife I feel much better and things don't seem so gloomy. Can you request that?

@WildButterfly how far along are you? I was expecting another growth scan as we had one at 32 and 35, I thought it was a long time til 40 but they said I don't need it. He was measuring around 50th at 32weeks and just under 50th at 36wks so many they don't worry about average babies. I was worried he might not be growing properly which is the other impact of GD but they said scans are too inaccurate at 38wks to be able to show anything meaningful 🥺😵‍💫

H0peing · 01/05/2022 14:39

@YummyMummyXoX thanks. It's really encouraging to be reminded how quickly things can happen when your body's ready! Lol I have tried intercourse but it hasn't worked yet for me. Xx

Zibidee · 01/05/2022 14:43

@YfenniChristie also I started a thread about forceps questions which was actually really helpful, loads of replies and lots of info about epidural, catheters and forceps. Some a bit scary, others really relaxed about it all. Definitely the catheter doesn't seem to be a big deal to most and actually helps when baby's head blocks your urethra anyway regardless of whether you have other interventions.
And cannula, I had one for IVF egg collection and it wasn't a big deal but I'm not fussed about blood test needles so if you don't like needles it might be worse. Perhaps ask for a bandage to wrap it up so you can't see it?

WildButterfly · 01/05/2022 14:48

@Zibidee I’m 37+1 today, the consultant said I should have another growth scan this week, but when I asked they said they don’t have a date yet, probably sometime next week. I would be 38 weeks then, which makes it even more inaccurate, so what’s the point. I have barely gained any weight apart from the bump itself, which is not even an overly massive one, so I’m not too concerned about her size, to be fair, just trying to gather as much information as possible so I can have some control on the decisions/suggestions made.

JMill13 · 01/05/2022 15:07

Welcome @WildButterfly

I have my last and final growth scan on Tuesday and I will be 38 weeks on Wednesday. Seems a bit weird that some are told it's too inaccurate at 38 weeks yet some are getting the scan anyway? Section booked for the 13th so hoping all is okay. Other half's dads 60th this week so don't want to be me up having to ruin their plans by having baby a week earlier than we've planned for but obviously if she needs/wants to come she will do regardless. Though I love the idea of her birth day being Friday 13th.

My last scan was supposed to be last week though they recorded a drop so have to check to make sure she's still growing properly in there. I can't wait to meet her now, don't know about anyone else but I am definitely done with being pregnant now.

Jowd92 · 01/05/2022 15:26

My edd is the 25th may so I think I’m one of the latest in the group but I am
now having monitoring every other day and also have my final growth scan and consultant on Friday and will be hopefully getting my inducement date then im
so fed up now I’ve had enough ready for it to be over having regular tightenings too most days some are more painful then others and losing a lot of mucus plug good luck to all

rainbowplease · 01/05/2022 15:50

Hi ladies, is it okay if I join in please, late to the party I know!
I'm due the 27th May. Had what I thought was my last scan on Friday but they weren't happy so I'v been booked in for another this Friday coming up. Hoping everything will be okay.

Congratulations to those who have already had their gorgeous babies.
