@Littlemilomoo, that sounds really stressful! Do you have people around who could take a walk a day off your hands? Perhaps a neighbourhood teen who would not mind making a fiver a day for a few weeks, once you get too big? It would be a good idea to have someone outside of the family familiar with the dog anyway, so that the moment labour happens, you could hopefully drop the dog with them for a bit (or ask them to come house-sit the puppy at yours). I hope your partner recovers well.

On another note, we also are likely having only this baby, due to medical reasons. It does feel very strange to think this is going to be our one and only pregnancy, especially since it has been such a stressful one so far. On the upside, it means we don't have to worry as much about upsizing. We only have a small place, and were really feeling the pressure to find something bigger.

RoseValleyRambles · 08/04/2022 10:58

@4thtimethecharm Same here. And as much as I'm hating it, I'm already feeling sad and missing these little kicks and flutters.

Rolledthedice · 08/04/2022 11:49

Has anyone else developed vulvar varicosities? :( I’m utterly miserable as I can no longer walk easily or very far. I’m a very active person and rely on movement to keep my mental health in check - even though I knew I wouldn’t keep up things like badminton for long, I’d planned on a daily walk throughout pregnancy. That is proving tricky and I’m desperately searching for support garments in the hope I can regain mobility. This is reminding me of when I was ill last year and I’m really struggling to stay positive, it brings back so many bad memories. Sorry for the downer post, it’s just hit me this week and I’m resenting having put my body in this position.

Prema112 · 08/04/2022 12:29

@Brightsmoke Sorry I know you've already done this a couple of times but could you post the Facebook link again? Thank you!!

Prema112 · 08/04/2022 12:30

@Rolledthedice Sorry to hear movement it's getting harder, swimming?

aus12 · 08/04/2022 12:31

@Littlemilomoo my husband did a similar injury skiing last month. He’s recovery time is also 6-8wks with crutches & a knee brace. He had surgery nearly 3wks ago & is slowly able to move around more but the first 2wks he was on pure bed rest which was hard as I had to do everything for him. He couldn’t even lift his foot out of bed without my help. I’d suggest buying a decent ice pack & also getting arnica tablets from a health food store, they’re meant to help reduce swelling. Also, go buy some codeine tablets over the counter for the first few nights so your partner can sleep. The pain was really bad for the first few days & my husband couldn’t get comfortable & he only got given paracetamol from the dr for the pain relief which didn’t cut it.

Brightsmoke · 08/04/2022 12:38

@imhereforthecake haha that's so typical!

Sorry to hear your struggling @Rolledthedice. I'm struggling not being able to go for walks too, the mental toll is huge. But try to remember it's got a good reason

@Brightsmoke Thank you!!

DaimDillyDoo · 08/04/2022 13:39

Thread 10!! :o

Thanks for the tag. I have my midwife appointment today but just ate a huge lemon curd filled donut. Ugh oh. Grin

I'm also at that uncomfortable stage. Everyone keeps asking "are you nesting/cleaning?" No, absolutely not. I couldn't think of anything worse atm.

Roxystar23 · 08/04/2022 14:40

Okay, here’s a new one today that only you ladies will understand. I’ve already been lucky enough to see my belly move when the baby decides to give me a big strong kick. However today, I have spent most the day watching my belly move in a way that is totally new. It fascinates me and also makes me feel a bit sick at the same time. It’s like there is an alien inside my belly - I can literally see the baby wriggling away through my clothes and making my stomach move like ocean waves! I think the baby might be trying to do an impression of me tossing and turning in the night. Grin It’s fascinating but also very creepy! I was convinced that the baby’s head was going to pop through my skin a minute ago!

beansprout55 · 08/04/2022 14:41

Mmmmmmmm lemon curd donut @DaimDillyDoo

Yay to thread 10!
Also feeling uncomfortable, crying because I'm uncomfortable in the evenings, RSL, back ache, PGP, feeling gross and now noticing my sex life has begun to decrease, which is making me feel so much more unattractive, undesirable and just sad. Can't wait until baby is here so I can start to feel more like myself - but will I? Or will I feel worse? Hormones Sad

EarlGreywithLemon · 08/04/2022 15:15

@Littlemilomoo this is the ice machine I hired www.gameready.co.uk/Rental.html

I’d also second the codeine. I took it for a full week after, and made sure I had some just before the first physio season (at one week). I was warned from the beginning that it’s painful surgery and I shouldn’t scrimp on pain relief. I was then on ibuprofen for a good few weeks (for the swelling).

pregnancydiaries · 08/04/2022 15:19

@Prema112 @imhereforthecake thank you ladies ♥️ cramps calmed down after a bad toilet trip (TMI I'm sorry 😂) and now the kicks have been stronger than ever today. Went out to buy some things for my hospital bag and was flinching in pain a lot from his kicks...think you're right, growing is definitely happening!xx

pregnancydiaries · 08/04/2022 15:23

@DaimDillyDoo I can TOTALLY empathise with this, I'm doing nothing of the sort apart from sitting about feeling sorry for myself.

@Roxystar23 the good old Mexican wave 😂 ours was head down, then he did this last and we had a scan and he'd become breech so it could be that all this movement is them moving position!x

MoreSpacePlease · 08/04/2022 15:59

Hi all, expecting my 3rd on 8th June. Also feeling pelvic pain but also cramp and back pain which eneded up with me in triage needing to take a test to see if I will be in labour in the the two weeks, luxkily came back negative so baby can cook for another few weeks at least!

Vimto1991 · 08/04/2022 16:04

@MoreSpacePlease welcome! We’re due date twins!! :)
I have been having these aches as well as a few other expecting moms here. Wonder if it’s the position of baby or part of PGP. Did they suspect anything else when it came back negative?

MoreSpacePlease · 08/04/2022 16:08

They suspect Brackton hicks but I hope it was just a pulled muscle as cant be putting up with that for another 9 weeks!

Vimto1991 · 08/04/2022 16:21

@morespaceplewse Ooh maybe! Crossing my fingers for you :) hopefully a bit of rest may help of you can get it!

Octoblockisadick · 08/04/2022 16:47

Same @Brightsmoke I'm as big now at 31 weeks as when my daughter was born at 38 I think. And this baby definitely likes my right side, my bump is very lopsided haha! I'll try and attach a picture, it's ridiculous. The movement is also random @Roxystar23! Definitely feels like he's going to burst out sometimes. I give him a push to put him back in and less sticky out haha.

@InvisibleDragon I'm the same, last time I made sure I had a very busy timetable of baby classes haha (even though the first time i tried to go to one last time i burst into tears at the end of my road because i was terrified so i went back home 🙈). Aiming for the same this time but witho the crying haha.

annie1994 · 08/04/2022 17:09

@MoreSpacePlease glad it came back negative but I didn’t know they could test to see if you’ll soon give birth!? How do they do this? Just curious 😂 or is it checking your cervix for thinning/ dilating?

MoreSpacePlease · 08/04/2022 19:53

@annie1994 they did a cervix check and then did a Fetal Fibronectin swab. Mine came back really low so they were happy there was no risk of labour, the doctor said its 90% accurate so hopefully I’m not in the 10%!

Littlemilomoo · 08/04/2022 19:56

Thanks for all the advice ladies! DP thinks he is going to be up and about after a few days and I keep reminding him I think he’s massively underestimating what is to come with recovery 🤦🏻‍♀️
I think he just feel so guilty cus I had a massive breakdown to him on Friday about anxiety over the next few weeks/birth then he goes and does that just top it off 😂

On a positive note, we’re on single figure countdown now! 9 weeks to go !!

annie1994 · 08/04/2022 20:21

@MoreSpacePlease ooo that’s interesting! Thanks!

t0nim92 · 08/04/2022 22:05

Hey, due the 29th of June here.

Haven’t had the best pregnancy with HG for the first however many months. Literally couldn’t keep a thing down and was bedbound. I now just feel like I can’t stop eating and burp up food all day, along with having piles. I’ve stopped taking my iron supplement due to this so just waiting for my blood results to make sure they’re okay.

This will be my second child, first girl 😁.
I think I’ve been in work twice since reaching around 2 months, my managers been really nice but I’m struggling financially without the extra income.

We’ve got nothing for baby ourselves as of yet but my mum has picked up quite a lot. I reckon we’ll end up panicking a few weeks before she’s due and rushing out getting everything

Rolledthedice · 09/04/2022 00:59

Thank you @Prema112 and @Brightsmoke - I’m not usually a fan of water but swimming is a good idea.

Had a growth scan today and she’s head down but back to back. I’m nearly 31 weeks so trying not to worry about that too! I’m sure most babies rotate around. The main thing is that baby isn’t too small, she’s around 40 percentile which we are happy with. :)

I hope everyone else’s growth scans have been ok too.
