@Octoblockisadick good to know I'm not the only one!! It is so annoying!!

Vimto1991 · 07/04/2022 20:44

@Octoblockisadick haha it’s not work I’ll miss, just the money! 😂

Littlemilomoo · 07/04/2022 21:21

So DP has only gone and torn all the ligaments in his knee that requires surgery Monday!! Apparently not letting that goal go through was more important than supporting me rest of the pregnancy..! He’s going to be looking at 6-8 weeks recovery on crutches with his knee brace which leaves me on my own to sort everything inc walking our 1yr old pup at 32 weeks pregnant up until due date.

The stress and anxiety is unreal I don’t know what we are going to do … just got to pray LO stays safe in there for as long as possible and doesn’t make an early appearance.
This is my first and most likely only pregnancy and feel like I’m supposed to be winding down and enjoying this special time before baby comes but can’t now

hellointhere · 07/04/2022 21:48

Thanks for the tag! I am getting ready to fly soon and so far all I've done is... get compression socks. Anything else I should be doing to make things easier?

@Littlemilomoo I'm sorry that sounds so stressful! Can you ask a friend or family for a little help with the dog?

I flew through the pregnancy pack of positive birth company a few days ago, I found the ones I had an aversion to initially to be the ones I needed the most: the one about loss, and the one about mental health, I recommend them.
I'm looking forward to trying out the yoga video, and also the video for pelvic floor exercises.

Vimto1991 · 07/04/2022 22:11

@hellointhere I’ve been trying to do yoga via YouTube. Supposed to be for third trimester. Screw that, I couldn’t do that pre pregnancy. 😂

EarlGreywithLemon · 07/04/2022 23:41

@Littlemilomoo I’m so sorry! Which ones did he tear? I tore my ACL, MCL and meniscus and sprained my LCL 4 years ago. I had surgery for the ACL and meniscus. I wasn’t actually in a brace at all, although I was on crutches - depends from surgeon to surgeon though. After two weeks of (relative) rest I was gradually doing more. I’d say if you can possibly afford it, a good specialist physio is so important for this one. And hiring an ice machine for the first two weeks is also helpful.
Good luck to you both, it’s rotten timing but keeping fingers crossed it’s as smooth as possible for both of you.

yellowpinkbluegreen · 08/04/2022 06:02

Hey thread 10 🥳🥳

Just up having my 5am bowl of cereal. The hunger is real again 😂😂 baby must be growing lots!!!

Lostintranslatio · 08/04/2022 06:05

@yellowpinkbluegreen I have also noticed an increase in my appetite lately. I'm starving all day!!

yellowpinkbluegreen · 08/04/2022 06:27

@Lostintranslatio it's mad isn't it! I was trying to explain it to a friend and said it's like you get so hungry that it's almost painful and you need to eat IMMEDIATELY 😂😂😂

Just curious is anyone else buying a sleep mat breathing monitor for when baby is sleeping? Wondered if anyone has any recommendations of which one to get? I know there's a mat or a sock option... curious! Xxx

pregnancydiaries · 08/04/2022 06:43

@yellowpinkbluegreen also on the early morning cereal trend. Totally addicted to special K with berries and I cried this morning because there just isn't enough berries in there....help 😂

pregnancydiaries · 08/04/2022 06:49

Is it normal to have mild cramping now in 3rd trimester? It's nothing severe so I don't think it's braxton hicks but just a bit of cramping as though period might be due across lower belly and back xx

unknownscot · 08/04/2022 06:49

@yellowpinkbluegreen my friend had one for her baby but I'm not getting one. I think they actually increase anxiety rather than reduce it. During the day the baby will be asleep downstairs where I am and at night in the next to me.

Or cot, pram and car seat get delivered next week. Eeek

That's three of my friends had babies early over the last few months so I'm in a bit of a panic now!

SouthwestSis · 08/04/2022 07:48

@yellowpinkbluegreen yeah I agree with @unknownscot
I know heathcare professionals do not recommend gadgets like the monitoring mats or socks, they increase parental anxiety and in some cases provide false reassurance.

imhereforthecake · 08/04/2022 07:56

@pregnancydiaries
I had this yesterday. I think it's everything stretching ready for the big day. Maybe worth asking your midwife though just incase! Smile

We have the pram at home but still have done nothing about the car seat 🤦‍♀️The cot we will be using my DSS one, so only need to get a new mattress.

EarlGreywithLemon · 08/04/2022 08:14

@yellowpinkbluegreen we have an Angelcare monitor with a mat, which we used for our daughter. No complaints about the monitor itself. On the mat, I’m a bit on the fence. I think I found it reassuring to know it was there in the early days. But, it went off randomly twice and freaked the life out of me. Even on evidence that our daughter was obviously breathing, I still worried “but what if she did stop breathing briefly?”🤦‍♀️ Probably not helped by hormones and sleep deprivation. You do also have to remember to turn it off when you pick up the baby, or it makes an ungodly noise! We will use it again this time, as we have it already, but as I say I am on the fence about it.

Littlemilomoo · 08/04/2022 08:23

@EarlGreywithLemon it’s his ACL and all his outside ligaments so basically getting his whole knee reconstructed 🤦🏻‍♀️ Nightmare!
That’s reassuring! The surgeon said 6-8weeks recovery and baby is due in 9 so it’s very close!!

Brightsmoke · 08/04/2022 08:24

Really sorry, we managed to reject someone from the Facebook group without feedback. Whoever it was, can you re-request please, but make sure you put your MN name in the Q box this time 😊. Also, on the fb group, we've put a post saying can you respond with who you are and put your details in the baby due date file. If you haven't done either by Tuesday, we will be deleting you, just in case there's someone lurking in there as we didn't have the Q box for the first few days :)

Vimto, I totally get the feeling about missing things! There was a huge nation wide event happen at work when I was on maternity with my first son, and to this day I still feel a bit sad I wasn't able to join them. And then this time, there's likely to be another huge national event happen and I'll miss out again 😂. Massive FOMO daily at work since I'm office bound. Also hugely missing running. I continued until 20 weeks, then it got too uncomfortable. Never thought I'd miss running 🙈

Albatross, I'd be the same! My husband won't be working too far from home even in the last weeks!

Another in the can't wait for this to be over brigade. I can't tie my shoe laces up without stopping to sit up and breath. I'm as big at 32 weeks as I was at 40 with my first son 😬

Prema112 · 08/04/2022 08:25

@DaimDillyDoo Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that, what rotten timing. Hope he has the surgery ASAP and can be up and about by the time baby comes, I can understand your disappointment when you want to wind down! One of my friends broke her leg 2 weeks before giving birth which was pretty terrible 😬

@pregnancydiaries I think it's normal to have light cramping but if it gets more painful or regular then good idea to get checked x

InvisibleDragon · 08/04/2022 08:38

@Littlemilomoo oh no, that's such a shame! Regarding the dog walking, I would be throwing money at the problem and hiring a dog walker if you are finding it too tiring to walk the dog yourself. Perhaps the funds could come from the football team subscription your partner no longer needs ...

Pregnancy insomnia is back for me. Wide awake between 2.30 and 4.30am. I think my body is preparing for when the baby is here, so I'm sleeping more lightly and waking up after each sleep cycle - roughly every 2 hours.

I'm a bit anxious about how to structure my time on mat leave. I get pretty gloomy and mopey if I don't have stuff to do. But I'm also really bad at structuring my own time without outside supports. So if I have all day to do 1 task I basically won't do it. But if I have a tight deadline and 10 things to do, they all get done.

Definitely going to need a routine for myself otherwise 10 months of unstructured time will be me lying on the sofa eating biscuits and feeling miserable.

Vimto1991 · 08/04/2022 09:13

@InvisibleDragon my night of sleep was like this. Went to bed at 10:30 still up at 12:30 due to restless leg, then up every hour or so to roll over. Set an alarm for 8:55 and rolled into my office for work this morning. 😅 I’m also wondering how to fill my time for maternity. One thing for sure I’m going to try going for a walk outside every day, May do some gardening and sort out anything I need to for baby like washing their clothes.

@Brightsmoke

I can't get the due date table to work for me. I've downloaded the app to edit but it still won't work

You're on the spreadsheet so I'm assuming you fixed it 😊

@Brightsmoke
Literally after I posted it worked Blush
