Continuing on from thread 4!

@EverydayIsPJday I'm 16 weeks tomorrow too, and will have a C-section so thanks for sharing the 41% stat! I needed to hear it this evening 😅

Terrible nightmares most nights, insatiable hunger, permanent thirst. Could be worse of course but I am nervous about how I will feel in 10 weeks on this diet/sleep plan haha.

@Goodgoodthings and @EverydayIsPJday I'm almost the same as you guys! I'm 16 weeks on Saturday. Although it isn't set in stone yet (I have a spinal specialist appt at the end of the month to confirm), I'm pretty sure they're going to tell me I'll only be able to deliver via c-section as well!

Oh god I've had so many vivid dreams too. One where I could see the baby pushing so hard through my stomach, that I could see the outline of its face and facial expressions. CREEPY 😳😂

Ooh I had similar @HaresHoping you've just reminded me! I imagined I could see babies head pushing upwards!

It's time to ditch the wired bras!! Omg 18 weeks and it's crazy uncomfortable!! I need to get some of those crop tops !!!

I don't have a print out, I'll have to wait. Not long though having a private scan on Saturday so will know what baby is then if baby allows that is x

@madeleine85 yes on the dreams!!! Every night I either have vivid odd dreams or full on nightmares!

Feeling a bit rubbish tonight, I'm struggling to get my head around all the gestational diabetes stuff and keep my levels right. Doesn't help that everyone around me appears to be an expert telling me what I can eat when I clearly know it'll spike my blood sugars but they just tell me I can eat anything hmm yea ok then I'll try that.
Feel a bit teary, didn't really have much guidance and haven't spoken to anyone else.

I also have really poor body image and it's like when your pregnant everyone's got an opinion on your body looking at my stomach which I just feel is fat not a definite bump but now I'm pregnant everyone's drawn to it! Sorry just having a vent...

@Poppypip1 I feel the same as you. I'm adding a picture of my bump, which is already enormous. I'm talking to the midwife about diabetes next week. I'm constantly thirsty and have packed on a lot of weight despite not eating. Please don't feel bad about your body - you are growing a small human.

I had a gender scan today. We are having another girl. DD will be delighted as she has been requesting a sister baby. The photos were terrible though 🙄 I don't feel like I got good value for money. I'm 16+2, and they were quick to point out that I would better quality picture if I went at 26 weeks.

@TotoAnnihiliation thank you l, it helps to hear I am not alone. Aww but you have a lovely bump! Mine is not defined at all I just look really wide! And everyone's looking in that area and commenting I feel so awful conscious.

Hope it's goes okay with the midwife and hopefully you haven't got diabetes but the extreme thirst has been one of my symptoms.

Congratulations on your baby girl ☺️☺️ What a shame about the photographs though. Could they clearly point out it was a girl? I'm a bit unsure about how accurate gender scans are as I have heard loads of stories about people being told one sex then finding out at the next scan or birth that it's the opposite of what they were told!

Sorry you're not feeling great about yourself either, it's frustrating because I'd piled on loads of weight before I was pregnant and already felt bad about myself! I do need to up my exercise as some days I feel like I'm barely moving. It's just so hard to motivate when you're feeling rubbish anyway x

@Poppypip1 I feel exactly the same as you. Are you on the Facebook group? I can find you on there abs we can use the private messenger? I had intended to get into better condition before getting pregnant, I was still carrying lockdown weight and then had been through a traumatic time with work.

After our last chat, I have charged up my Fitbit. I'm also looking through some diabetic friendly recipe books to get healthy. I still don't fancy most food though.

I hope that this baby is a girl!! I've bonded with "her" despite only finding out this afternoon. The sonographer seemed certain and I'll double check at the 20 week scan.

I've booked to go swimming on Monday however I'm already panicking that I don't think I have a swimming costume that would fit me so not sure if I'll have to try and get one at the weekend.

Well done on getting the Fitbit charged. Maybe we need some group challenges, so many steps a day or something?

Oh sorry didn't mean to make you doubt you're scab I'm sure she is definitely a baby girl, I was just wondering how it all worked at the scan and if they pointed it out to you and was obvious. As I've never experienced it and am nervous of being told the wrong sex, as I'd rather not know at all then get attached to the idea of one or the other.
It's my partner who really wants to find out if he didn't I'd be keeping it a surprise. x

@Poppypip1 sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish, it's irritating when everyone thinks they can have an opinion on all things pregnancy.

@TotoAnnihiliation congrats on your girl :) my DD was the same and was so happy when we told her she was getting a sister :)

@ShiningStarz I ditched the wired bras at the weekend, went to marks and Spencer and got measured, got one really lovely non wired bra that has good stretch and should grow with me, and then a three pack of their basic ones that were also pretty good for £18, all feel quite supportive and gave me a bit more shape.

Finally starting to feel normal after covid, so hoping to pick up my exercise from today 🤞still testing positive though, day 11. Only testing because the covid midwife won't remove me from their call list until I do. They've been really good and called me every three days to check on me.

@TotoAnnihiliation @Poppypip1 Hey! I had my fasting glucose test done and it came back normal so I don't have GD yet even though I though I would (obese, thirsty, swelling etc). However, I would love to improve on my diet and exercise so I'm right there with you!

Does anyone get extremely swollen feet? Mine get that sometimes, I think because of my office sit-all-day job but it's making me really nervous. I mentioned it to my GP on Monday and she said it can happen even though it usually happens towards the end of pregnancy and I'm only 16 weeks! So the plan is to reduce salt in my diet, eat healthier altogether and move more throughout the day and after. We are planning to start going to the swimming pool also so hopefully that helps as well.

@Poppypip1 you haven't made me doubt what the sonographer has said 🤣 I don't know how they do it, i wouldn't have been able to identify anything! I had a friend who was told serval times that she was having a boy and baby turned out to be a girl! I'll send you pm now x

Hey all

I'm now 16+2 and suffering with a terrible cold! 🤒
Does anyone know what I can do to ease it? The fact I can't take anything to soothe my sore throat that feels like I've swallowed razor blades is making me feel worse than I am tbh.
I've been taking lateral flows every day so it's not covid and is deffo just a cold; obviously just made more like man-flu in the sense of our immune systems being lower I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry you're poorly @PrettyTulip out of interest are you using the nose only lateral flows? Only ask because I was negative on those, but when I did the throat swab I got an instant positive, didn't get positive on the nose only until a week after weirdly

@Celyn22 I have found the CRL, at 12 weeks and 5 days it measured 6.2mm... thoughts? I think it's smack bang in the middle!

@Tinadecember my guess is girl! I may be totally wrong though so I’ll look out for your post in a few days when the sonographer has had a good look!
