@SoOverThisCrap oh no, I'm sorry to hear you have been hit with it so soon too, I really didn't expect it this early!

SoOverThisCrap · 01/04/2022 10:37

I'm feeling a bit flat today 😕 I've seen the postwoman walk past our house and not delivered anything to us so that's yet another day of waiting to get the screening results and another day of stressing in case the midwife team call me instead...
I had the screening done almost 2 weeks ago (21st March) so I'm really hoping all is ok but I have a midwife appointment on Monday afternoon and now I'm just worrying that they have the results but won't tell me until I'm at my appointment...

HaresHoping · 01/04/2022 10:44

@Tinadecember

Morning ladies, (well for those of us in the UK!)

finally friday woohooooo!!!

Slept terribly last night, sleeping on my front is a no no and I get paranoia when I switch to my back so its alternate sides which due to bump growing is becoming more and more uncomfortable :(
I have been toying with the idea of a pregnancy pillow for the last week or so but after last night I think I am going to bite the bullet and order one. I was thinking the BBHUGME, pricey but great reviews.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

@Tinadecember I have just ordered the bbhugme after reading a thread the other day on here with people raving about it. Apparently you can make it into a doughnut shape to sleep on your front - really hoping this works as it's the only way I can sleep 😂 I think it's just arrived this morning so I'll let you know tomorrow how I've got on!
HaresHoping · 01/04/2022 10:47

@SoOverThisCrap oh darling I really feel for you, the waiting is so so hard. Sending massive hugs. I think I waited a good couple of weeks for our screening results for downs, edwards and pataus - is that what you're waiting on? I remember the letter was green which I thought was unusual, maybe something to look out for. Could you maybe give the hospital or your midwife a ring and ask if the results are in? I've heard of other people's results being delayed just due to the usual slowness of the NHS, but the results were fine in the end - just a really frustrating delay. Hope you get the results you hope for and soon xxx

MedbN · 01/04/2022 10:52

@sooverthiscrap I had similar waiting for mine. What got me through is that if it was a high risk result you would have been called straight away within a week at most for the vast majority of trusts so chances are that it is all low risk if you haven't heard anything at this point

Thank you. Yep it's the screening for downs, etc. I'm quite anxious in general with this pregnancy as I'm 41 so I know age isn't on my side, and I've had 3 losses in the last few years, including twins last Feb. Waiting for every milestone feels like such a slog. The next wait once I get my results will be the 20 week scan but that's not until 6th May.
I was planning to have a private scan once I get to 16 weeks (next Thursday) so I can just be reassured all is ok and to find out the gender but the place near me stopped offering them during covid and they're not resuming the service!

That's exactly what I keep telling myself too but it's just so hard...

annlee3817 · 01/04/2022 11:29

@SoOverThisCrap was yours the standard screening or NIPT? With the standard when I had my dd I never heard anything until my 16 week appointment, they said no news is good news and when she was going through my bloods she confirmed low risk, is it this coming Monday? Hope you don't have to wait too much longer, can you contact your midwife to ask her?

SoOverThisCrap · 01/04/2022 11:47

@annlee3817 @MedbN @HaresHoping so I took your advice and called the midwife, the letter was only issued yesterday as the results are sent to another hospital, BUT everything is low risk! I cried down the phone when she told me. I should get my letter hopefully either tomorrow or early next week.

It was the standard screening x

annlee3817 · 01/04/2022 11:53

@SoOverThisCrap ah I'm so glad you called and that they're low risk!

ShiningStarz · 01/04/2022 12:06

@SoOverThisCrap maybe just call them?

I did about an hour ago and all came back low risk 😊

Thank you x

HaresHoping · 01/04/2022 12:25

@SoOverThisCrap this has made me smile so so much! That's fantastic news, congratulations 🥳

So sorry to hear about your previous losses. I had two chemical pregnancies last year so understand a little bit of what you're feeling. You're doing great, try to be as kind to yourself as you can xx

Carebear99 · 01/04/2022 12:58

@SoOverThisCrap what a load of stress but I'm so happy for you! That's great news

SoOverThisCrap · 01/04/2022 13:27

Thank you @HaresHoping I'm sorry for your losses too x

Thank you @Carebear99 how are you getting on?

IzzyLeigh · 01/04/2022 14:00

@HelenHomebird congrats on telling work! I found it to be such a weight off my shoulders to tell them and finally feel like I wasn’t hiding anymore. Plus the reactions were pretty positive and so that made me feel much better. I had been dreading a bad reaction.

@Tinadecember I’m totally in the same boat and have decided I’ll likely get the bbhugme pillow too. Probably this weekend actually. I’ve got a bad back (L5 S1 spinal fusion with a cage and screws in there) and I’ve got narcolepsy too, so I’m willing to shell out as much as it takes to get the job done. I know it’s expensive, but I’m hoping it’s worth it. The reviews sure make it sound like it is at least!

@SoOverThisCrap First off, I’m so sorry to hear about your previous losses. That must have made the waiting so much harder. BUT! Congrats on the good news! So happy for you!

I used this when pregnant with my son a decade ago! It was fab but I did find it was rather flat and misshapen by the end of my pregnancy. This time I went for one from Amazon which had lots of great reviews. It's a U shape one with a detachable side and seems very sturdy! X

stimpyyouidiot · 01/04/2022 14:57

@SoOverThisCrap I got a call straight away when my screening results were high. I would assume no contact would mean they're okay.

stimpyyouidiot · 01/04/2022 14:57

Oh I'm sorry just saw they're all ok. @SoOverThisCrap !

SoOverThisCrap · 01/04/2022 15:00

No worries! Did your results come back ok in the end? I saw in your previous message that they were high?
SoOverThisCrap · 01/04/2022 15:14

Thank you @IzzyLeigh Smile

stimpyyouidiot · 01/04/2022 15:50

Yes, I had to have the NIPT on the nhs because the downs risk (not edwards or pataus) were 1/131 - thankfully after 5 days they called me and said it was low risk thank goodness. Was a horrid time waiting so I know exactly how it feels! @SoOverThisCrap

Carebear99 · 01/04/2022 16:12

@sooverthiscrap I'm OK thanks, I'm still quite anxious but 17w today so roll on the 20w scan on the 27th. How far along are you?
