@Tinadecember I think boy too. Xx

EverydayIsPJday · 30/03/2022 14:37

@Tinadecember I'm going with boy but mainly because the forehead is quite flat which is more indicative of a boy (and looks like my two's scans). I cant work out if that 'nub' is the top of the leg 😂

Congrats 🥰

dkedm15 · 30/03/2022 15:25

@Tinadecember I think boy! Are you going to find out? Xx

We went for a private scan last Thursday because I'd had covid (triple jabbed pre pregnancy but it absolutely floored me for a good couple of weeks) so wanted to check everything was okay, and then we already had one booked for Mother's Day as a surprise for my mum - we found out we're having a very active little girl!

We had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday too and we got to hear her heartbeat for the first time which was crazy! We weren't expecting it as I'd read that quite a lot of trusts don't do it at that appointment anymore in case they can't find it and it worries people so it was a lovely surprise, makes it all seem very real all of a sudden!

@stimpyyouidiot sorry to hear you're so poorly 😞 make sure you get plenty of rest xx

How's everyone doing with symptoms? I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and I've found my 24/7 nausea is wavering a little bit but swapped with some really strong sick feelings that come in waves, and I've also started getting headaches when I wake up. I think I've been getting some flutters too (feels like my stomach goes a bit wibbly) but because I've got an anterior placenta I've been told these might not feel as strong as they would've done had it been in a different place

dkedm15 · 30/03/2022 15:26

Ooh and in answer to names, we had the boy name absolutely nailed down but we're struggling for girls! Typical isn't it 🤣

Tinadecember · 30/03/2022 15:42

Oh wow, lots of boy guesses haha!

Yes, we are finding out, likely in a private scan in a couple of weeks time so my daughter can come with us. Children aren't allowed at our NHS scan and I want her to feel part of the process

dkedm15 · 30/03/2022 16:00

@Tinadecember sorry it says right on your first post that you're finding out in a couple of weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️ that'll teach me for skim reading! X

stimpyyouidiot · 30/03/2022 17:28

With our first we couldn't agree on a boys name at all, and thankfully she was a girl otherwise that would have been a hard decision.

This time around however, we've got loads of boys names and hardly any girls! We used the one we loved already hahaha

CLC22 · 31/03/2022 06:45

I already have a son called Elliot and we picked out the girls name when I was pregnant with him so already got the girl name picked out 😄

Billymay · 31/03/2022 07:07

We love Luca for a boy but we’ve said that since 2015 and have only had girls. We have a Freya who’s 7 and Grace who’s 1. We do have a girls name as it has meaning since my mum passed away and I’m 99% sure this is going to be our 3rd xxx

SoOverThisCrap · 31/03/2022 07:24

We have a name for a boy and a girl (hopefully I'll be having a gender scan next week to find out) but DD has already picked what she wants, Jack for a boy and Lily for a girl. She's obsessed with the name Lily and she calls most of her dolls either Lily, Ruby or Violet.

annlee3817 · 31/03/2022 08:19

@SoOverThisCrap my DD also loves Ruby, I think it's because of her rainbow fairy books, but she keeps suggesting it.

stimpyyouidiot · 31/03/2022 08:24

Your dd's have all suggested very nice and sensible names! Mine wanted either star heart or cutie mcbutton

SoOverThisCrap · 31/03/2022 08:24

@annlee3817 I think maybe that's where Jasmine (DD) has got it from too. No idea where Lily and Violet have come from though! I think Jack may be Jack Jack from The Incredibles...

Major panic this morning!

I'm almost 17w (tomorrow) and when I got up this morning and went to the loo I saw red urine. I wiped down below and no red blood. I then realised I ate a lot of beetroot yesterday, it's one of the things I really like at the moment

I was so stressed out and thought I wd bleeding. Thankfully not. I was so scared and full of panic.

Tinadecember · 31/03/2022 09:20

@Carebear99 oh no!! I just felt a bit sick for you when I read that, I am still knicker watching at 16+2, it's horrible, feel like it will never go away until the baby arrives safely!

We have a couple of possible girl names, my daughter is Evie, she will be 12 when this baby arrives. We like Mila, Mia and Eloise if we are having a pink one but I have strong feelings we are having a boy, even more now after sharing my scan haha! Don't have a single name for a boy!

Hope everyone is well today! Change in the weather in the north west, it is bloody freezing!!!

SoOverThisCrap · 31/03/2022 09:33

I'm glad all is ok @Carebear99 it's definitely such a scary time.

@Tinadecember like you I'm also a knicker checker! I'm 15 weeks today and it just feels like such a slog to get to 40 weeks!

Next milestone is 20 week scan on 6th May (which seems ages away) and I'm still waiting for my screening results! I had my dating scan and bloods taken last Monday so I'm hoping I'll hear back soon.

I'm already showing and my belly button has popped out 🤣

annlee3817 · 31/03/2022 09:35

Oh god that must have been scary @Carebear99 glad all is ok

Em85kk · 31/03/2022 09:36

@SoOverThisCrap that’s so cute. My daughter calls her teddies Rainbow Unicorn Sparkles. That’s not happening for a baby 😂

Awww 🥰 Jasmine has a unicorn toy she calls Pinky Pie, I'm glad she's not suggested it as a baby name 😂

Peauela · 31/03/2022 11:26

Hi all!

Can i ask if anyone is experiencing swollen feet early on? Mine are huge and I'm only 15 weeks 😅 it might have to do with my weight because I am classed as obese, but just wondering if anyone else experienced it?

Redapple21 · 31/03/2022 11:35

Awww @Carebear99 I bet that gave you such a fright, glad you realised it was the beetroot! This happened to me before I was pregnant and convinced myself something was majorly wrong until I realised I'd been having beetroot with my salads the last few days! Glad you're ok. X

Carebear99 · 31/03/2022 11:52

Thanks everyone, I was in a massive panic. I'm still a knicker watcher too

IzzyLeigh · 31/03/2022 12:35

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I’m so relieved that your scan went well! Anything since?

@Tinadecember congrats on your scan! Since I’m garbage at guessing these things, I’m just going to be contrarian and guess girl for the hell of it haha

@stimpyyouidiot how are you feeling today? Also, my vote is with cutie mcbutton haha

@Carebear99 why do you worry that the NIPT might be wrong about the sex? And I’ve been eating a lot of beets lately too! They’re always good for a heartstopping bathroom scare, especially when you’re half-awake haha

And since some of you have mentioned the name you’re going with, I might as well share mine! We’re going with Finley for our little girl, Finn for short Smile I know there are other spelling variations (like the traditional Finlay), but Finley is the more common variation here and just feels right. Not to mention, autocorrect doesn't recognize the other spellings in my phone, so I figured I'd spare her that hassle ha
