@madeleine85 awww you're very kind - thank you. I don't know if I could go as far as 'super mum' but busy mum definitely.

How far along are you, what number baby and do you know what you're having yet?

Pinkflamingofly · 28/03/2022 22:25

Hi all, I havent posted in a while but been reading here and there. I've also experienced spotting during the first 10 weeks and can totally understand the worry when it happens. It's probably a coincidence, but I havent had any more spotting since I stopped doing my kegel exercises. I normally try to do them every night because my pelvic floor is so weak. I'd like resume the exercises because otherwise I'll be incontinent by the time I give birth but worried it will bring on more spotting. Has anyone noticed the same thing happening to them?

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 22:25

@Whatelsecouldibecalled it's good that your husband is helping you and i'm glad you are feeling better. Maybe try a nice long bath with lavender scent (not essential oil though) to help you sleep a little better and longer.

CLC22 · 28/03/2022 22:28

Thank you 🥰 and @nearly8 I’m 25, 26 in may 😄 congratulations on having a boy to join your family x

annlee3817 · 28/03/2022 22:44

Hope the scan went ok @IzzyLeigh

And hope you get a negative test result asap @Whatelsecouldibecalled

@nearly8 wow, I thought one was hard when she was younger lol, I'm 40 with my second, will be a seven year age gap

@CLC22 congrats on your little girl

stimpyyouidiot · 28/03/2022 22:56

I'm 33, baby 2. Had my first when I was 29.

IzzyLeigh · 28/03/2022 23:15

Good news! Everything is fine! No obvious cause of the spotting but that’s okay because my little girl was jumping around a bunch and then settled down and sucked her thumb! AND we got to hear her heartbeat for the first time and got a recording of it and the whole thing. Worth every penny and I feel SO much better knowing that she’s okay. Huge thanks to everyone for calming me down today when I was panicking Flowers Star Cake

@CLC22 congrats on the news of your little girl!

@nearly8 you’re truly an inspiration. Thank you for the calming words. I kinda feel like you’re already the thread mom and I love it. As for your question about age, I’m 33 and this is my first Grin

@madeleine85 yeah, I wasn’t too pleased that they didn’t ask to have me come in for at least some sort of reassurance. They did however tell me that I’m back on pelvic rest and specified that I’m on the kind of pelvic rest where I need to avoid orgasming as well. So that’s just lovely.
This private place was great though. Such a reassuring and relaxing experience. And it was pretty cheap! Only $50! I’ll likely be going back in the future anytime I have any sort of worry and feel like it’s been too long since I’ve seen my little nugget.

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I’m glad your husband is being such a good team player while you’re down and out. I hope you’re right that the worst is over and that you can get in for that scan really really soon. Hopefully you and I are just some of those women who have spotting as a normal part of their pregnancies.

@IzzyLeigh wow, those 4d photos are fab! I'm so glad everything was OK! Good price too. Minimum here in the UK is £55

madeleine85 · 28/03/2022 23:40

@nearly8 I am 18 weeks tomorrow with a baby boy, our 2nd child, we have a 2 year old DD.

@IzzyLeigh yay for everything being ok!! That sucks about being on pelvic rest so early, but at least you know to be safe for your little one. So great that you have a private place you can book last minute when needed for reassurance. lovely picture too!

annlee3817 · 29/03/2022 07:44

Ah glad all is ok @izzyleigh

@madeleine85 can't quite believe we're 18 weeks now! And almost half way

EverydayIsPJday · 29/03/2022 08:23

Morning all and welcome @nearly8 it's great to have you here with all your wisdom Smile. I am 35 (36 next month) I have two boys age 4 and 2.

And brilliant news @izzyleigh I'm glad that the scan went well and your baby girl was clearly very content!

Feeling abit off this morning, today I need to tell work about the pregnancy. So nervous. First pregnancy was a breeze by all accounts (until birth but that didn't effect work!!), Second pregnancy I was signed off from 5 months...I just know that there are going to be some 🤨 looks waiting for me to shuffle off again. I feel under pressure already. That and the fact I will be asked to recruit the temp to cover mat leave and I absolutely loathe having to do recruitment (I'm crap at it). Today is one of those days I would usually look forward to a g&t 😭 wish me luck.

SoOverThisCrap · 29/03/2022 09:16

@IzzyLeigh I'm so pleased that everything is ok, such lovely photos too! X

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 29/03/2022 09:32

I have a scan at epau tomorrow morning. Feeling nervous. I've tested negative today though so that's a plus. Still feel ropey

SoOverThisCrap · 29/03/2022 10:10

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I'm glad your covid test is negative. How is your spotting today?

IzzyLeigh · 29/03/2022 11:19

Thank you @Carebear99 @madeleine85 @annlee3817 @EverydayIsPJday @SoOverThisCrap!

Forgot to say that along with the cute photos we also got this shot that makes her look like something out of a horror movie haha

Lol @IzzyLeigh I had a similar one at DD's 20 week scan, she looked like the terminator

annlee3817 · 29/03/2022 11:23

Glad you are testing negative now @Whatelsecouldibecalled hope the scan goes well

I got a positive test this morning 🙄

IzzyLeigh · 29/03/2022 11:24

@EverydayIsPJday good luck today! Try not to worry too much. Remember, you’re a boss and you’ve got this! And maybe it’s not so bad to be crap at picking a temp? After all, if they suck it means they’re less likely to replace you haha

@Whatelsecouldibecalled so so glad you’re feeling better! Please keep us posted on the scan. I’ll be thinking of you

@annlee3817 noooooooooo! I'm so sorry Sad How are you feeling?

Hi can I join please? I'm due September 16th. I'm an older Mum this time around and don't know anyone that's pregnant at the moment or recently had babies. This is my second I had my first 19 years ago 😬 so almost feeling like a first time mum all over again x

IzzyLeigh · 29/03/2022 11:34

Hi @Poppypip1! Congrats and welcome!

SoOverThisCrap · 29/03/2022 11:36

Hi @Poppypip1 I'm an older mum too (41!) and I already have a DD who's 5, so I was classed as 'geriatric' when I had her! 🤣😂🤦‍♀️🙄

annlee3817 · 29/03/2022 12:07

Congrats @Poppypip1 also an older Mum, 40 :)

@IzzyLeigh just tired and have a sore throat

EverydayIsPJday · 29/03/2022 12:30

Welcome @Poppypip1 and congratulations

Well, it's done, I've told my boss. She went god awful quiet as it turns out another manager in our team handed in her notice yesterday 🤦 I do feel for her but nothing I can do. I'm actually planning on leaving early too - triggering mat leave 16th sept but using most of my leave to finish on 4th August as my childminder is going on summer hols for three weeks in August and we have no other help. I then want a couple of weeks to rest before baby arrives (c section will be scheduled from 16th onwards). This afternoon I plan to count how many work days I have left!!

Sorry to hear of the positive COVID tests, not what you need right now!

handbagsandholidays · 29/03/2022 12:32

@IzzyLeigh

I'd also like to say how much I love this little group we've got on here. It's so lovely to have other people to talk to who are going through the same thing. Even if all the details aren't the same, it's incredibly comforting to have a place I can come to voice these concerns, get support, and offer support. I'm just really thankful for you guys. Sorry for being sappy haha just blame it on the hormones Grin
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

So lovely to see your photos from the scan and hear that all is well. X

Billymay · 29/03/2022 12:38

Hi girlies.finally got my screening results back and I’m low risk… that’s a weight off. Now the wait to the 20 weeks scan the end of April. My last pregnancy at 20 weeks we found out there was something wrong with my daughters kidneys, it was a horrible experience as we had to go home as there was no consultant in to talk to us… turns out they were dilated but rectified at 30 weeks but by the time she was born her right one stopped functioning. Thankfully she’s a healthy little girl and you can be absolutely fine with just one but the memories of being led into a side room and the not knowing is now making me anxious this time round. Think I might book a 16 week one just to have some reassurance xxx
