@SoOverThisCrap probably. It was that one that started out seeming like any other normal pregnancy worry post before taking a really tragic, absolutely heart-wrenching turn that was all documented in real-time. I won't go into it more than that (spare everyone else who hadn't seen it), but I can't stop thinking about it. Honestly, that's probably my main reason for wanting to get this scan today. To make sure that isn't what is happening to me. Absolutely terrifying.

I remember getting a scurrying feeling last time, like she was running on the spot, later on though, was such a strong movement, and I'd wake up in the morning and my bump would be cone shaped, DH would have to help me sit up as the cone we think was her bum up in the air and her feet would be wedged in my ribs 🤣

SoOverThisCrap · 28/03/2022 15:54

@IzzyLeigh yeah we are talking about the same post, that's why I deleted my app for a couple of days. Please try not to worry, those things are very rare and spotting can sometimes occur without any reason to worry. Maybe everything stretching could have irritated something and caused a bit of spotting? I think it's also fairly common in the second trimester. Try not to worry, I'm sure your scan will be absolutely fine xx

annlee3817 · 28/03/2022 15:55

I remember that thread too, was awful 😢

SoOverThisCrap · 28/03/2022 15:57

It is proper freaky when you feel the baby move. My DD would wake me up every night at 2am with hiccups from about 30 weeks 😱 seeing all the limbs moving about was really odd too but amazing at the same time.

stimpyyouidiot · 28/03/2022 17:10

Yes! Dd had hiccups constantly!

MOLWI · 28/03/2022 17:14

@IzzyLeigh hope all goes ok at the scan and you get the reassurance you need ☺️ x

Carebear99 · 28/03/2022 17:18

@IzzyLeigh I'm sure it's nothing serious but I hope it all goes well at the scan. Please let us know how you get on

EverydayIsPJday · 28/03/2022 17:22

Best wishes @IzzyLeigh I hope you and baby are OK

IzzyLeigh · 28/03/2022 17:56

@SoOverThisCrap @MOLWI @Carebear99 @EverydayIsPJday thank you ladies so much! I’m feeling a little better already after having heard from you all. It also helps that the spotting seems to have stopped completely now (I hope). I’m heading to the scan at 4—so a little over 3 hours from now—and will update when I get back!
If all goes according to plan, then I should be able to hear a heartbeat, which will be the first time I will have gotten to hear it! I’ve just seen it before but never heard it. Hopefully my anterior placenta won’t make it difficult to find/hear?
Now I'm psyching myself out thinking that maybe they won't be able to find the heartbeat and that my baby will be sleeping and completely still just to give me a good old fright. I think I'll eat some candy and drink a soda right before the appointment just in case. Anything to ensure that if she's okay that she'll be bouncing around and give that immediate relief. any other suggestions?

Hi all,
I'm 15+6 with my 8th baby due 13/09/22 thought I'd join the journey with you all.

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 20:21

@IzzyLeigh I always find filling your bladder the most you can gives you the clearest scan - very uncomfortable esp if you're kept waiting but has always worked for me. Also chocolate with raisens usually makes mine move around a lot. Haven't read through the whole thread yet but I got the gyst that you've had some spotting and you're worried. Hope your scan goes/went well and you can continue to enjoy your pregnancy

stimpyyouidiot · 28/03/2022 20:22

I was told to drink apple juice when I had dd and needed her to move @IzzyLeigh

stimpyyouidiot · 28/03/2022 20:22

@nearly8 8! Wow. What are your age gaps?

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 20:29

@stimpyyouidiot I have a girl 15, boy 12, girl 10, girl 4, girl 3, girl 2 and girl 7 months. I totally messed up on my dates this time round (wasn't really in a proper cycle tbh) and when I went in for what should have been my 14 week scan (at what I thought was when I was 13 weeks) actually turned out to be 15+3 and the sonographer was able to tell us the gender. IT'S A BOY!!!!! Our DS is literally soooooooo happy lol

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 28/03/2022 20:31

@IzzyLeigh hope things are ok. I am also spotting. I've phoned Epu and they said they will scan me but not until I'm covid negative. So just sat here anxiously waiting.

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 20:33

@Whatelsecouldibecalled sorry to hear you're having spotting issues too. Try to stay positive and remember to get enough rest and take it easy where you can

IzzyLeigh · 28/03/2022 20:45

Hi @nearly8 and welcome! Goodness, I don’t know how you’ve done this so many times! It’s only the first for me and I feel like I wouldn’t survive this kind of an anxiety again, not to mention 7 more times! I admire you already! And thanks for the tip about the chocolate with raisins. Sadly, I’ve only got jellybeans on hand, so they’ll have to do! But I might stop at a store quickly and grab some apple juice per @stimpyyouidiot’s suggestion. Thanks, guys! About to head out now! will update with hopefully good news soon!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I’m so sorry you’re having spotting too! You've really been having quite a time of it, haven't you? How are you feeling otherwise? Covid getting any better yet? I hope you test negative ASAP so you can get scanned too. Thinking of you

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 20:52

@IzzyLeigh Oh there's still worries but I can tell you it definitely gets easier in terms of anxiety. I had 2 babies through the pandemic and there were all kinds of different worries there but I think the best advice I can give you and all the ladies on here is TRUST YOUR INSTINCT - it sounds cliche but your motherly instinct is already there so if you feel something isn't quite right contact your midwife/doctor/hospital and don't let them fob you off. Make sure you receive the reassurance you are seeking.

CLC22 · 28/03/2022 20:54

Joining the new thread ☺️ 17 weeks tomorrow & im having a baby girl 😍x

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 20:57

@CLC22 Congrats on your little girl x

stimpyyouidiot · 28/03/2022 21:20

@nearly8 oh that's a whole girl gang!!

nearly8 · 28/03/2022 21:49

@stimpyyouidiot oh yes lots of girls - very loud, very busy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Just out of interest and nobody has to answer if they don't want to but how old is everyone? I'm 35 on baby number 8 was 19 (turned 20 2 months after) when I had my eldest. Me and my husband have been together 18 years.

madeleine85 · 28/03/2022 21:49

@IzzyLeigh hope you are through the scan and have positive results. I hate that spotting seems so "normal" during pregnancy, when it is obviously so worrying to pregnant ladies. I'm also shocked your dr didn't take you right away. Anything that happened with my last pregnancy I was in the same day, but I think I am just beginning to realise that I had a really great OB. A Friend due 2 weeks before me has had multiple MCs so is obviously very nervous, but her dr is trying to do everything via phone! I'd go crazy!

@Belle2210 you hit the nail on the head. I feel like I have an eel in my belly when I feel the movements (if I feel them). As someone else who got a shaving cut and thought for a second she was bleeding, i'm glad i'm not alone.

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I am so sorry you're having to sit and wait this one out. Crossing everything for one line on a covid test for you ASAP.

@nearly8 WOW! Congratulations on the boy, and you really are super mum with all your kids :) @CLC22 congrats on your girl too!!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 28/03/2022 21:51

@IzzyLeigh @nearly8 thanks. Trying to fast as much as I can. Husband been amazing taking point with our toddler. I'm feeling slightly better tonight so praying the worst is over. Just wish I knew everything was ok with this spotting!
