In response to the question about pregnancy, I’ve put on 8.5kg. Here’s a calculator I found useful in both pregnancies:

Gosh, I was going to post this morning asking the exact same thing.
I'm 25+1 and some days baby is so active and his kicks almost hurt, and I can feel him and see him wriggle around under my skin. But today just feels like faint bubbles and the very very occasional mini poke. This happened last week and totally freaked me out. So, is this quite normal then? To some days have baby be super active and strong and other days just feel bubbles?!

beansprout55 · 15/03/2022 10:51

Thanks @EarlGreywithLemon, that's super useful xx

Flowerbug1994 · 15/03/2022 11:24

Am exactly the same as you all and I am 27+4 and don’t have a definite pattern yet I’ve thought he was quite this morning but I have had a good amount of kicks in the last 2 hours. I definitely think they still have quite days and also think me working from home and being distracted in the office today has made me not notice them as much

aus12 · 15/03/2022 11:34

Ok thanks ladies, will add some hats to the never ending list of things to buy. Already have a sunhat on there hoping we have a nice summer 🤞🏼

Vimto1991 · 15/03/2022 11:35

I’m 27+6 and had what you guys all had up until only a few days ago! Baby went from super strong kicks to bubbles, I now figure they may have been sat back to my stomach, can feel them strongly again. This morning I felt a round smooth roll presumably head or bum :) was cute.

pregnancydiaries · 15/03/2022 11:38

@beansprout55 totally the same here. I assumed the kicks were "weaker" because they were in the same area but not as strong. At triage last night the doctor had a feel about and turns out he was lying in the same position but had rolled over to face the other way so the strong kicks were probably going to my back and the weak elbows to the front!xx

Prema112 · 15/03/2022 13:37

Ahh ladies I sympathise with the weaker kicks/movements worry, I think it does get more obvious after 28 weeks, I had lots of quiet days from 20-27 weeks but since then I haven't at all.

I've just been swimming and got really intense pain at the bottom of my bump, like a bad stitch in my uterus. It's happened before when I've swum, I hope I don't have to stop. I went in the slow lane when the pain had passed and went reeeeeeally slowly, I think I'm probably pushing it too much and need to stick with the grannies from now on 🙄

Roxystar23 · 15/03/2022 13:55

@Prema112 - I experienced something similar to you yesterday - an intense stitch like pain. I stupidly had convinced my partner that we should walk to the post office instead of driving (we live in a rural area and the post office is down some very steep hills into the village). I just wanted to get to the top of the hill on the way back so really went for it - but my gosh the pain!! And the breathlessness!! I had to rest when we got back home because I felt so out of it. Next time I need to go into the village - I’m definitely taking the car!

I hope you still manage to keep swimming though - it must be heavenly on your joints! Just take it easy! :)

Vimto1991 · 15/03/2022 13:56

@Prema112 sounds like the dreaded ligament pain 😫 I got a support belt for walking, I wonder if they make one for swimming?

PeeAche2 · 15/03/2022 14:16

My Oyster3 has arrived. I unpacked it and put it all together by myself. (Husband in meeting and I couldn't wait.)

It's amazing. I'm in love. I never thought I'd care this much about a pram! 😅

PeeAche2 · 15/03/2022 14:18

I swim every week. I don't have a swimming support belt but I wear a pair of high waisted bikini bottoms in a larger size under my one piece. I know this is weird but it helps because I'm also suffering the RLP.

In fact, mine went off a bit for a couple of weeks but it's back and worse than ever.

EarlGreywithLemon · 15/03/2022 14:19

@Prema112 I’m so sorry! For reasons to do with my knee I couldn’t swim in my last pregnancy- but I loved just walking in water in the pool and treading water. It was a great feeling just doing that. Even if swimming itself gets too much, that’s always an option?

PeeAche2 · 15/03/2022 14:20

Also (sorry for the trip post) I've noticed one of my nipples is now significantly darker than the other one. Is this normal?

Flowerbug1994 · 15/03/2022 14:59

That’s so reassuring. Am finding it so hard not to physically count the kicks but I’ll carry on doing as am told seeing midwife Thursday for 28 week appointment will see what she says about movements never spoke about it before.

@earlgreywithlemon thanks for sharing the weight website . Ive saved it in bookmarks as it is quite useful guide

@PeeAche2 I believe we make more melanin at the moment so anything pigmentated gets darker, nipples, the line down your stomach, freckles, can get brown patches over body, too. It’s probably just one getting darker quicker than the other or they just don’t match (whose boobs match anyway 😂)

GrowBabyGrow · 15/03/2022 15:46

Has anyone else found they've become a bit burpy? I'm 25 wks now and I've had some embarrasing moments on Zoom calls this week but didn't have the same issue last week! It's like I'm constantly bloated just under my boobs now.

EarlGreywithLemon · 15/03/2022 16:15

@GrowBabyGrow horribly bloated after dinner every evening- like I’m about to burst. From memory it was the same last time.
I do fear I’m approaching heart burn territory too…

JAR1981 · 15/03/2022 16:43

Just back from my midwife appointment and asked her about reduced movement/weaker movement. She said that I shouldn’t be concerned about the strength of the movements, as positions can shift so that’s not a problem. But more to consider the frequency. I should call triage if the periods of activity are less frequent vs normal, vs if the kicks and wiggles aren’t as strong. Hope that helps clarify as it’s so hard to know!

Also I’ve now put on 10kgs (gulp) at 28.5 weeks. So at the upper limit of normal. My pre-pregnancy BMI was 19 so not too concerned at this stage but think I may need to rein in the sweet treats in the next couple of weeks to avoid going over what’s advised and increase risk of complications.

Eeeek @PeeAche2 your pram arrived! So exciting! We are ordering at the weekend.

@Prema112 @Roxystar23 I also get the stitch like pain along the bottom of my bump, especially on dog walks. It feels more muscular/ligament close to the surface vs in my uterus though. Is this RLP I thought that always showed up on the sides of bump?

@GrowBabyGrow @EarlGreywithLemon I feel your pain. I’m now getting the double whammy of afternoon bloat and bedtime acid reflux. Think it’s a sign of things to come for the third tri.

beansprout55 · 15/03/2022 16:52

@GrowBabyGrow yes! Gassy at both ends! I'm 25 weeks too and it's got particularly bad this week.

@Vimto1991 is right about dark pigmentation. Also moles/freckles can grow in size due to the increased hormones. I had a mole at the top of my thigh (right where my knickers end!) which had tripled in size! It became really raised and giant and ewwww, so I actually had it removed on Friday under local Blush now I have a gaping hole there which is so so sore, but excited to see what that area will look like mole free for the first time in my adult life!

PleaseSendNoodles · 15/03/2022 17:32

@PeeAche2 I have weird patches of pigmentation on mine… Google says it’s normal 🤷🏼‍♀️

Joining the ‘varied amount of movement’ crew. I’m 26+3.

AlbatrossSociety · 15/03/2022 18:03

Hi all, thanks for the tag!! Completely fell off the threads for a while.

I have tested positive for Covid today and feeling really grotty. Have a consultant appt on Thursday that I need to get changed but the antenatal clinic aren't picking up the phone!! Called the midwife and told her about the Covid and she says there has to be some additional monitoring done, has anyone else has Covid?

AlbatrossSociety · 15/03/2022 18:04

Also have felt baby so much more today as I've been in bed most of the day!! But things still very variable. I'm 26 weeks

BunBun221 · 15/03/2022 18:06

Hi all - I think I'm about caught up! It's been a rubbish week or so! Had my 25 week midwife appt last week where she said ti sounded like I was having some PGP. I then went for a chiropractic pregnancy massage (which btw hurt like hell!) and she focused on areas that I wasn't even aware were hurting.

Anyway 24 hours later I slipped on some water like bambi on ice. Thankfully I didn't actually fall but the very quick motion of my legs slipping in opposite directions made my PGP completely unbearable and I wasn't able to move really at all for days without my DPs help - he had to help me out of bed, up and down stairs and in the shower!

Been fast tracked for physio referral and given a bug tubey grip for my belly as well as a prescription for codeine by the hospital who checked me over when I went for my GTT yesterday so hoping all of the above will help me to get a bit more mobile again as I'm currently miserable, struggling to move and in quite a lot of pain almost 7 full days later!
