@PeeAche2 good morning :) Sort of glad you're also experiencing this, I was starting to just assume I was going to wake up one night with some sort of Alien-style chest-burster episode. It's rubbish and I was just hoping the doc/physio could offer some suggestions other than turning in 1/2cm increments only.. I've not found a position that doesn't hurt, tried lying on my back for a bit as it's worse on my side, but then of course start worrying within a minute or two.

@sunflower198 exactly the same here - I didn't get a within-range reading until I stopped the cereal, oh and I had crumpets once - also a no-no :/ I'm hoping for a refill this afternoon, but yeah I seem to be able to eat most things during the day too. Morning spike is also expected according to the GD site - wish they'd told me these things at the hospital! Anyway, on track now and making the broccoli and stilton soup today - I'll report back!

@RoseValleyRambles my first (and only) midwife measurement had the little dude at the 11th percentile for size and I tested positive for GD, so they're not always related. I think she's wrong though - last measurement was 49th percentile so unless he's just not grown at all...

@fpeg - glad to hear there are positive stories for induction! I will have to have if I don't go c-section as well. I am feeling a bit like, I may leave it to the professionals to decide..

@Octoblockisadick thanks for positive c-section story! I really am hoping for a quick recovery however the birth works out, just want to get back to normal really. Also very emotional, wish I could sign off work now, really no interest at all.

This thread moves so fast, by the time I've written up a post there's been loads more in between! Happy Monday everyone Flowers

Hi everyone, I thought I'd join the chat. I'm due June 29th and I've had a good pregnancy so far. But I've just done an exam, we are having a new kitchen and the house is tiny and stuff is everywhere. I feel physically and mentally exhausted all of a sudden and stress and emotions have come out of no where. Luckily I. Working from home as I've had blips where I've just burst into tears. Just had a bath on my lunch but still feel so low. None of my friends are pregnant and just felt like I needed to unload my feelings. Do any of you ladies just get times like this? This is my first pregnancy so all new to me

Iris26 · 04/04/2022 13:42

Also seen there's a fb group so just joined it :)

annie1994 · 04/04/2022 14:24

@Iris26 I’m also due June 29th! I have times like this. I went through a very bad patch between 15-20ish weeks and was diagnosed with prenatal depression. Like you none of my friends really have children so it’s very lonely. I do have a little boy already (19mo). Pregnancy is such a huge life change that’s it’s totally normal to have times where you just feel so overwhelmed and think you can’t cope especially if you’ve got other stuff on top of it like your exam/ new kitchen. Take each day as it comes x

Iris26 · 04/04/2022 14:30

Thanks @annie1994 we are all on our own journeys and I guess sometimes we just need to talk to release these emotions and deal with these hormones. Thank you for replying

Rolledthedice · 04/04/2022 14:46

@Iris26 What you describe sounds very relatable. I think we all experience the ups and downs while we grow these babies. I’ve had moments in the working day where I’ve just had to switch off for a bit as I felt so low. Luckily I WFH so a good bath and some chill time helps. I blame the hormones but obviously do keep an eye on your mood and contact your midwife for support if it all gets too much. Just know that you’re not alone, and every hour and day we get through is a huge achievement! :) xx

Vimto1991 · 04/04/2022 15:18

Yeah I’m definitely feeling the hip/rib pain lots more so I’ll join that crap bandwagon lol. You’d think WFH would be easy but after all night tossing and turning with my hip being unbearable, sitting in a chair all day is also uncomfortable and I’m tired as heck. I’ll try and look at the physio suggested on here as my pregnancy pillow isn’t helping!!

I managed to get my maternity leave pushed forward to 23rd May and annual leave approved starting 3rd May! Hope I don’t get too bored. I told my boss if I’m feeling okay end of April I’ll take it day by day and he’s absolutely fine with that luckily so nice to know I can just swan off early May now. Thought I could work up until 38 weeks but 35 will probably be my max 😬🙈 I do feel guilty as I feel like im eating into time when baby is here - but I want to make sure I am well relaxed before baby is here to ensure they come into this world on time and healthily, and I have plenty of holiday accruing to still be off until their first birthday as long as they aren’t TOO late. 😂

@Iris26 you are definitely not alone! There’s plenty of help available or feel free to talk on here to us talkative bunch :) my area has a well-being for mental health and I managed to seek therapy within two weeks due to being pregnant with anxiety/depression so could be an option for you if you are really struggling!!

One question for you all, anyone getting braxtonhicks or leaking nips? I’m not getting either but an app is suggesting they start around now 🧐

Prema112 · 04/04/2022 15:27

@Vimto1991 I'm getting braxton hicks! Finding it so strange as I didn't have it at all in my first pregnancy. It's not painful but I find it very uncomfortable and difficult to walk when it's happening! Haven't had leaking nips but getting tiny bits of dried milk on them sometimes, also a new experience!

Prema112 · 04/04/2022 15:29

I have a week off this week and today the only thing I have achieved is to make some brownies and now having a lie down to recover 😂 Not sure how I'm gonna go back to work next week! I echo the rib pain, and I get a really sore stomach whenever I eat now

Vimto1991 · 04/04/2022 15:43

@Prema112 oooh interesting!! I have no idea what to expect, is it kind of like cramp with no pain? I’ve also had what I thought was dry skin on my bra but perhaps it’s dried milk like you’ve said. They actually feel a bit achey today!
Brownies are a good effort though, atleast you can reward your hard work 😂

Iris26 · 04/04/2022 16:11

Thank you @Rolledthedice and @Vimto1991 think I'm just having a bad day and hormones kicking in. Plus I'm knackered. Throughout this pregnancy I've managed to finish planning my wedding and get married, take 3 exams, decorate the livingroom, whilst working full time and trying to fit in swimming, Aqua aerobics and yoga. Now the kitchens being done. Think my body is trying to tell me to slow down as I enter the 3rd trimester. Sleeping is not as comfy anymore and I just feel tired most of the time, feel blessed that I get to experience this journey when so many can't. But we are all entitled to crappy sad days, we are human and we are growing a whole new life. Really appreciate the little lift from you ladies

Vimto1991 · 04/04/2022 16:15

@Iris26 yeah think it is completely normal, I don’t think a lot of us FTM really expected how much third trimester wipes you out and boy have you been busy 🙈 think it’s time to relax a little if you can, maybe ask your OH to take on more responsibility of the kitchen for you. I’m going to start doing some swimming if I can when I go off next month. I feel like it’s too little or too late but by the time I finish work, tidy and make dinner, I’m too exhausted to exercise so kudos to you!! You are very much entitled to have down days, doesn’t make you a bad mom! I can feel a bit of sadness creeping in where it doesn’t belong so trying to think of only positive thoughts. :)

Iris26 · 04/04/2022 16:21

@Vimto1991 I'm wiped out in evenings too. I tend to do swimming or aqua aerobics on weekends or during the day whilst wfh I just take longer lunches. Sometimes I just find walking or a light jog in the pool so therapeutic. It's lovely your finishing in May, I'm finishing June 10th, wish I asked for earlier now I'm so tired 😂

Prema112 · 04/04/2022 16:26

@Vimto1991 My belly goes rock hard and tight for about 30 seconds then back to normal, I thought it was baby moving for a while then realised it was hard all over so probs not baby!

Vimto1991 · 04/04/2022 16:29

@Iris26 I’m due beginning of June, and work haven’t supported me in terms of taking my work load off me, and my hips are hurting so much that I just want to be able to relax and sort things out as I get so anxious my work stress will affect the baby! So making sure the five weeks I am taking off before baby is due I am all of the zen lol 🙈 don’t forget you can change your maternity up to 28 days before so plenty of time.

Iris26 · 04/04/2022 16:35

@Prema112 that sounds like braxyon hicks. I've not had any but read about them this morning and article said your whole belly tightens. It's a way of preparing for labour.

@Vimto1991 oh that is not on, stress isn't good for the baby and work stress definitely isn't worth it.i need to take my own advice 😂 I am going to see how I feel and if I'm struggling I may go off earlier.

Vimto1991 · 04/04/2022 16:39

@Prema112 oooh interesting. I’ve felt tightness and wondered if it was where the baby was lying or bloating. I could have already experienced this although it’s not hugely noticeable and seemed to last longer than 30 secs.

pregnancydiaries · 04/04/2022 17:00

@JAR1981 I can't read them but I think I can make out from the pics what to do so I'll give these a try tonight, thanks so much ♥️ keeping fingers crossed for you this week, lots going on!

@Flowerbug1994 how did scan go?

@Octoblockisadick omg I cried all night last night for no reason at all, then I cried because I read that the baby could feel what I felt and felt guilty 😂

@Iris26 welcome to the group, and to the women who have totally saved my life during this pregnancy. We are a chatty bunch and always here for you xx

pregnancydiaries · 04/04/2022 17:01

I was just thinking, as time is passing so quickly at the moment are we thinking we might move to a WhatsApp group soon? Would be nice to keep in touch once LOs are here.

Just seen that @Brightsmoke started FB so I guess that's the transition xx

destiEos · 04/04/2022 17:29

@Brightsmoke thanks for setting up the fb group, I've sent a request to join :)

I think we're all feeling a little low at the moment, we're close to the end of the journey and there's been ups and downs on the way, but now we're all bloaty and knackered and emotional and frankly ready for the next bit! Hopefully it will be different-tiring and stressful - I for one am very much looking forward to having someone else available to pick up some slack :D

@Vimto1991 I actually can't sit in a chair all day, and have been told by HR/ergowhatsis people to buy a new one and a foot-thing. I really should order those, but I'm running out of space! I am still holding out to change maternity until they schedule in my c-section/induction so I know what to work around. But yesterday would be the best start date for me.

Nipples behaving and BH still at bay, thank God - not sure I could handle more things...

@Prema112 BROWNIES!!! I'm dribbling over here, having just eaten what basically boils down to a kiddie lunchables meal - probably had too many grapes as well...just as well I've got no test-strips :D

Vimto1991 · 04/04/2022 17:34

@destiEos I got told to get a new chair as well and a new desk, we’ve just moved everything to the spare room and I don’t think I can handle setting up my work desk all over again. With so little time left I spend a few hours in the chair, maybe go on my yoga ball, then end up in bed 😬 fingers crossed you get that date soon and can move your maternity date or AL to suit you! This last little hurdle is making me feel low as well 🙈 atleast we aren’t alone in that!

I’ve got my first antenatal class today! Two hours long and hosted via Teams online. The trust said they don’t plan on doing any face to face for the foreseeable future which is a shame. I’m not upset about meeting other parents but my DH and I haven’t been around kids and I worry the interaction even with a fake baby would have helped us!

Flowerbug1994 · 04/04/2022 17:47

@pregnancydiaries it went well thanks that off the chart ac measurement from 20 week scan is now just above 50th centile along with everything else. They estimated him at 4lb and am 30+3 so going along fine accept the fact he’s currently breech 😭😭

pregnancydiaries · 04/04/2022 17:50

Great news @Flowerbug1994!! Just goes to show how much they can change. We had a scan today and also on the 50th centile, 2lb11 at 28+6 and ours has also moved from head down to breech. So exciting you have a wee 4lb baby inside you!!!
