@RoseValleyRambles glad to hear it! All over now and no more jabs to get - yay!

@Littlemilomoo - I know, I had to turn the tv off :'( My other half also said it's probably the safest trust to deliver at right now.. Try not to think about the news too much, they must have delivered thousands of babies successfully and it never helps to focus on the negative, just make sure you know what you want for your birth and insist if you need to - midwives on all my antenatal classes having been saying this for weeks anyway.

@Vimto1991 scans must be by NHS region, I had 13 and 20 week scans, and have 32 and 36 week scan appointments next. I'm old and IVF, so get a couple of extra scans ;)

@PleaseSendNoodles - that's brilliant news! Very happy for you Flowers I'm sure they'll figure it out!

@fpeg To be fair, as regards work - I was hating it before pregancy too...just counting the damn days now! But yes sitting in the same place for 8 hours is not really do-able anymore...I'm waiting to see how much of a shitty payrise I get this year (it's annual review time) I got 1% last year, I'm expecting the same again.

@Starbeach I'm the exact same as Vimto, can't believe I'd forgotten! But will almost definitely change too, as a)I might die if I have to work til then and b) I'm probably going to end up going for a c-section, which I believe they schedule in a week before due...? @sunflower198 - is it supposed to be 2 weeks before due-date for a c-section?

@MsBubbles85 - feels great to start having stuff turn up, doesn't it?!

@CurryandSnuggle I've oddly yet to try the baby on some NIN(my favoruite band), but she seemed to love Hey Joe when it came on the radio the other day, you can't knock Jimi ;)

Happy Thursday everyone else who's struggling with work, we're nearly there!x

sunflower198 · 31/03/2022 14:25

@EarlGreywithLemon yeah I know what you mean. Before i was diagnosed with GD they said I'd be booked in at 39 weeks but because of the GD (and the consultant was trying to avoid the bank holiday weekend) he's booked it in earlier. There was also a 10 day difference between my LMP and the date from the 1st scan (10 days earlier) so the consultant said he'd rather go for May.

sunflower198 · 31/03/2022 14:28

@destiEos I think they usually book them for 39 weeks but I was told at my first diabetes appt that if I was put on medication it would likely be nearer 38 and I started medication this week so I think I got 38 weeks because of that. I don't mind, it's 1 less week of finger pricking 😬

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 14:31

@sunflower198 I think with GD the parameters are slightly different, so I'm sure that's completely right in your case. Don't worry!

In my case, I'm having an ELCS because of previous birth injuries so there's a bit more flexibility, and no reason to do it earlier. Other than the possibility that things can start naturally!

pregnancydiaries · 31/03/2022 14:47

Just got our section date, 14th June at 39 weeks. Eek! All feels very real now. Found out there's a 90% chance it will need to be under general anaesthetic though, so I'm a bit upset and so is DP. Hate the idea of not being able to meet little bub straight away and being groggy when I do ☹️

@CurryandSnuggle there's something so special about when you feel them after a quiet phase isn't there! Glad all ok xx

GrowBabyGrow · 31/03/2022 15:11

@CurryandSnuggle your baby clearly has good taste! My husband woke our bump up the other day by singing Iron Man by Black Sabbath to her. She did some really big kicks/ fist bumps

beansprout55 · 31/03/2022 15:21

Gosh @pregnancydiaries that is exciting!! Praying you won't have to have GA - why do they think you might?x
So exciting to have a date though 😍

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 15:27

@pregnancydiaries congratulations! I wasn't actually groggy for too long after my last GA. I was a bit in and out in recovery, but was fine by the time I was transferred to a room. I was texting pretty coherently (I think! Grin by that point). It was a pleasant surprise after my last GA 20 years before. Hopefully it'll be like that for you, if you even need it at all.

pregnancydiaries · 31/03/2022 15:32

@beansprout55 it's definitely exciting having a date! Unless LO decides to come before then of course. I have a medical implant for kidney function but part of it is wired around my spine so VB is out the window and the consultant didn't think a spinal anaesthetic for section would fly with the anaesthetist either. Find out for sure in 3 weeks...xx

@EarlGreywithLemon thank you!!! I've had so many GAs and laughing at you saying you think you were texting coherently 😂 the consultant seemed to suggest a section with GA would make you in more pain than with a LA, so I would likely need strong pain relief???...I really can't understand that one? I think my worry is more being left alone with the baby in the ward and being a bit spaced out xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 15:38

@pregnancydiaries you make a good point. I should maybe ask my husband what I actually did text him!

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 15:41

I tell you what did make me feel funny - pethidine. Hours and hours later I was still having to make a conscious effort to get the words out in the right order!! It hadn't worn off by the time I met our daughter, but I don't think it spoiled the moment in any way.

pregnancydiaries · 31/03/2022 16:03

@EarlGreywithLemon I will remember that!!!

Rolledthedice · 31/03/2022 16:29

@PleaseSendNoodles so happy to hear that your partner could well make it back in time! 💜

@fpeg I also had no idea just how taxing pregnancy could be, and also how many weird symptoms it’s possible to get! Nobody talks about the ones I got (blocked ear, swollen flaps?!) Currently sat with an ice pack down my trousers next to my vag! 😂 This swelling is not something I expected, although I guess having existing varicose veins makes you prone to it.

I hope everyone else is managing ok with their symptoms?

InvisibleDragon · 31/03/2022 17:19

@CurryandSnuggle @destiEos @GrowBabyGrow I love all these musical babies! I think my little one has just started to respond to sounds properly. He got rea excited when we were video calling my in-laws last week and he often wakes up if I have classical music on. Was less impressed with my husband's Egyptian rock band though Grin

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/03/2022 18:30

Thank you, everyone! Keep your fingers crossed for me! 💕 @PeeAche2 I guess we all have our own challenges and do the best we can. Im in awe of those of you working full time and/or already have kids. I don’t know how you do it without being able to nap any time you want 😴

@pregnancydiaries how exciting to have a date! I can imagine the idea of a GA is a lot to take in but hopefully there’s an alternative and if not, I suppose it’s nice to have advanced warning? Sorry it’s not what you were hoping for though. 🌸

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/03/2022 18:32

Oh and I’m back re-doing my glucose test. I’m suspicious they’re doing it wrong again though… 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Vimto1991 · 31/03/2022 18:42

Congrats everyone getting a c section date! Definitley starting to feel more real now we are all in this last final stretch! We got this mamas! 💪

I’m currently fighting nausea, heart burn, tiredness, and not being able to sit in certain positions without getting very uncomfortable 😩 third trimester fun.

MrsTwentyNine · 31/03/2022 19:01

@Honey2 @sunflower198 @Flowerbug1994 @pregnancydiaries and anyone else I've missed ...

No extra scans for me as they said 80th centile is fine! But I bet when they do the tape measurement again at 31 weeks , he will be off the charts again. Im guessing if the trajectory is the same, they may say that's ok? But yes these measurements are so wildly off!!

Exciting to hear people have got their c sections booked! Makes it all so real.

Honey2 · 31/03/2022 19:10

@Vimto1991 - you describe exactly how I feel!! I’m 30 weeks - can’t believe I have at least anther 2 months to go!!! This is my 4th baby however and I am 41 so I suppose it’s no surprise I’m feeling it more this time… but oh my. I am so grumpy at the moment too lol 😂

Vimto1991 · 31/03/2022 19:12

@Honey2 first baby at 31, wondering how I’ll ever cope with a baby if I’m so tired beforehand 😂 I am also very emotional, I cry a lot these days. I just want to eat chocolate, too.

Honey2 · 31/03/2022 19:40

@Vimto1991 haha my husband is at the shops currently and I have just phoned him to get me some emergency Mullier chocolate pots!! I am sure you’ll cope once baby arrives. I think you’ll get some energy back after birth and it’s surprising how you can manage even with relatively little sleep!!

pregnancydiaries · 31/03/2022 20:04

@PleaseSendNoodles you're right, it's good to have a date and the warning I guess, although a bit bizarre thinking about waking up one day and going off to have a baby 😂 xx

@Vimto1991 I feel ya on all counts!!!

RoseValleyRambles · 31/03/2022 20:28

Eurgh. 1 day on from whooping cough vax and I'm feeling awful. Did it hit anyone else hard? I'm usually pretty good but this one is not fun. Particularly on top of usual pregnancy aches and pains. Feeling very sorry for myself.

Vimto1991 · 31/03/2022 21:46

@RoseValleyRambles knocked me out for a few days. Felt worse than the Pfizer jab. :(

PeeAche2 · 31/03/2022 23:06

@RoseValleyRambles It brought back my hyperemesis. I was NOT happy 😂
