@pleasesendnoodles Woohoo! That's great news.

PeeAche2 · 31/03/2022 07:49

@PleaseSendNoodles that is such good news!

I'm sort of in awe. I don't think I could cope without my husband.
He drives me potty sometimes but I love the absolute bones of him and I feel like him gone would be me operating on 50%. You are clearly a superwoman ❤️

pregnancydiaries · 31/03/2022 08:05

@PleaseSendNoodles so happy to hear this, what wonderful news for your Thursday xx

InvisibleDragon · 31/03/2022 08:56

@PleaseSendNoodles that's lovely news! Keeping my fingers crossed he is able to be home with you for the birth x

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 09:49

@PleaseSendNoodles lovely to hear that!

beansprout55 · 31/03/2022 09:50

Yay @PleaseSendNoodles! So so happy for you. xxx

Starbeach · 31/03/2022 10:03

Hi all hope you are all doing ok. When are you all starting maternity leave?

beansprout55 · 31/03/2022 10:07

@Starbeach, 2 days before my due date! I work in healthcare so hoping the daily rushing about and being on my feet will enable me to keep going to the end rather than hinder it. Says she, with the PGP who can't walk more than 5 mins without being in pain. What about you?x

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 10:19

Two weeks before my C section date. Our daughter will also be at home from nursery and my husband working from home during those two weeks, so no one picks up Covid. Really don’t fancy a C section whilst ill with Covid!!

PeeAche2 · 31/03/2022 10:49

@Starbeach

61 days, 13 hours and 9 minutes.

Starbeach · 31/03/2022 11:09

@Starbeach ha ha not like your counting the hours 😂.

Starbeach · 31/03/2022 11:09

@EarlGreywithLemon fingers cross we all stay away from covid x

Vimto1991 · 31/03/2022 12:01

@Starbeach current maternity leave starts June 8th for me which is my due date, and two weeks annual leave before then, but I’m going to request changing it so maternity starts 23rd May and take annual leave to May 1st due to how uncomfortable I am weirdly sat down all day (you’d think it’d be the opposite), and my job is too mentally taxing and affecting my mental health so I want the break. 😆

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 12:05

@Starbeach absolutely!
Technically actually, my mat leave will start on or just before the date of my C section (around 39 weeks). The two weeks I’m taking off beforehand will be accrued holiday.

I'll be doing similar - definitely don't want Covid at the same time as the c section! I got my c section date this week so it's made it feel super real now 😳
EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 12:19

@sunflower198 great news! How many weeks will you be? I’m told we’ll discuss it at my 32 week appointment (in 2.5 weeks).

sunflower198 · 31/03/2022 12:25

@EarlGreywithLemon I was told the same that it'd be booked in at 32 week appt but the GD consultant called me this week to review my blood readings etc and said he was booking it in, I'll be 38 weeks so it'll be a May baby!

MsBubbles85 · 31/03/2022 12:28

@Starbeach My due date is the 30th June and I will start my ML on the 24th, hope baby doesn't decide to come early!!

We have bought today the pram, travel system, baby bath, nappy bin, changing bag, baby monitor...so many things to think of! It feels more real now that we have bought everything!

Littlemilomoo · 31/03/2022 12:34

Ahh it’s getting so real for everyone now!

Had my 30 week midwife appt this morning and baby is still measuring very big but is now off the chart big!! Blush I have had GD test which has come back ok so unsure why bump is so big.. waiting to hear back from midwife to book in growth scan but feel abit scared now.

She said big baby isn’t a bad thing but still doesn’t help my anxiety lol! Also discussed options about going down Elective c-section route. I’m 26 and fit so in theory ‘should’ have a low risk natural birth but I think I feel more confident opting for a section. Am I crazy??

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 12:36

@sunflower198 congratulations! That's very exciting and, as you say, very real!

My official due date is 12 June, but I'm confident that's off by a few days, and it should be a few days later - as in 99% confident! So I'll try to persuade them for 39 weeks -ish, otherwise the baby might be a bit too young (so if they go for 38 weeks he'll actually be 37). Let's see how that pans out!

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/03/2022 12:39

@Littlemilomoo one of my friends opted for a section with her very large baby. She was very happy with her choice and I envy her undamaged pelvic floor.

She said the consultant was trying to persuade her the baby might not be that large, but when the consultant left the room the midwife said "Nah, that's a big baby". Which it was!

Littlemilomoo · 31/03/2022 12:41

@EarlGreywithLemon thanks, that’s reassuring! Such a big decision Blush

CurryandSnuggle · 31/03/2022 12:47

Ahh bubba freaked me out, hadn’t felt her move all morning. Snoozehead! But I thought I’d lay down at lunch and attempt to wake her with some Linkin park 😂 it worked! she is awake and I can stop worrying ❤️

Starbeach · 31/03/2022 13:06

@CurryandSnuggle I had a day like this then she rolled over kicked me and I projectile vomited all over the supermarket carpark 🙈 lucky it was quiet and they were about to close they were lovely about it cleaned it up got me a chair and a bottle of water didn't stop me being mortified 😂

Flowerbug1994 · 31/03/2022 14:00

@Littlemilomoo my baby was measuring big at 20 weeks scan GD test come back fine I have growth scan on Monday and I’m 100% with you if he’s measuring off the charts I will probably ask for section I know people
Deliver big babies everyday but my anxiety between now and June would be horrendous I’d be so scared. Am 27 and healthy don’t be put off by that. Whatever you chose to do is best for you and your baby don’t feel like you should have a vaginal birth if you want a section
