@Letsbekindplease I'm with you, although I'm turning into a Flake, not a mini egg. DH bulk bought 90 on Amazon for me because I keep moaning for them

I also haven't bought much, only the pram, car seat and bath, so don't feel bad! I think I'll start being more proactive when I reach 30 weeks... maybe. There's not THAT much to buy. I won't be going overboard with clothes etc as I have no idea if he'll be a chunk or not, and potentially could get gifted loads of clothes?! Who knows. I better do with the amount ££ I've spent on friends babies this past decade

@EarlGreywithLemon thanks for the reassurance that fixing this is possible (if mild). I suspect mines mild, but really anxious it will become severe during VB. Will see what they say. No specialist women's PF physio in Jersey - will be in Suffolk visiting DH fam a month after the birth, I wonder if worth booking in with one then so I get a decent assessment post birth and not a crappy hospital one. Maybe there's no point as it's too early?! I don't want to offend the one I'm seeing this week by asking.

Vimto1991 · 30/03/2022 15:53

@beansprout55 90 flakes!! 😂😂 good effort. I’ve been eyeing up the fruit and nut Easter egg I’ve bought myself. Swore I wouldn’t open until Easter…

@MrsNT too true :( I’ve been taking long breaks this afternoon in between doing bits of work. That’s all I can manage at the moment, but it’s something!

EarlGreywithLemon · 30/03/2022 15:56

@beansprout55 I was told to wait until 6 weeks post birth to see the women’s physio. But why not call the one in Suffolk now to see what they advise? They might be able to give some advice remotely as well (especially if you have a diagnosis from the NHS physio re the possible prolapse).

Flowerbug1994 · 30/03/2022 15:58

@Letsbekindplease your not the only one who’s having an Easter feast 😂😂😂 am eating more creme eggs than chickens eggs. And if left to my own devices will devour a full Easter egg shell !! Am getting mini eggs whilst am out now otherwise I won’t stop thinking of them 😂😂😂

EarlGreywithLemon · 30/03/2022 16:01

@Letsbekindplease we had nothing by this stage when expecting DD! And we had plenty of time to buy it all in more than good time, and with no stress.

An NCT friend had a very busy job so left everything to the last couple of weeks before. The bedside cots were delivered when she was already in hospital!

destiEos · 30/03/2022 18:06

@Vimto1991 it is a bit sucky - and 4 times a day! My poor fingers :'( Not to mention I appear to have carpal tunnel now too - which apparently is not uncommon in pregnant women. FML right now.

Also had 1-to-1 with manager today and it wasn't good - I didn't mention the GD or the carpal tunnel, but I feel I might have to as we're at review time of year...

@RoseValleyRambles whooping cough had it months ago - first trimester I think and literally nothing at all from it. Maybe a bit of a sore arm? I don't think I even had that. Hope it went ok :)

destiEos · 30/03/2022 18:12

@Littlemilomoo oh fuck, sorry! I doubt it's the only trust with issues though and hopefully this will be the best time to deliver there as they are now under huge scrutiny, so will probably be extra, extra careful also from the BBC article: "The vast majority of cases date from 2000 to 2019." so they have already got themselves back on track.

RoseValleyRambles · 30/03/2022 18:28

@destiEos so far just a sore arm, so all good.

I'm glad I'm not the only one starting to find a full day of work physically hard - not looking forward to the extra 3rd trimester fatigue kicking in...

Littlemilomoo · 30/03/2022 19:08

@destiEos DO said the same thing! He thinks that this year, especially after all the media coverage they will be on top form but still just that added anxiety 😥 my heart breaks for all the family’s effected

MrsTwentyNine · 30/03/2022 19:30

Hope you lovely ladies are keeping well
Had a scan today as they said baby was off the charts with the tape measurement
He is in the 80th centile but within the normal parameters!
Weighing 1.5kg at 29 weeks...
Anyone else had a scan ? 🙂

Flowerbug1994 · 30/03/2022 19:52

@MrsTwentyNine mine was over 95th centile for AC at 20 week scan which they thought could be due to Gestational diabetes but had test last money and heard nothing they said if I had it would be contacted by diabetes midwife by Thursday. I have growth scan Monday did they say what they will do or will they just rescan and see how baby is going ?

pregnancydiaries · 30/03/2022 20:05

@unknownscot thank you so much for sharing. I totally freaked myself out after reading about it. It only seems to happen to me when I'm sitting up from lying down or moving on to my side etc. I'll check if it's soft next time I do and try and avoid. I'm seeing the Physio next week for my back so I'll defo ask then xx

@Vimto1991 and everyone else with work pressures, I'm joining the bandwagon. I went back today after having to take last week off. My boss told me that the rest of the team are off next week and I'll need to cover all their meetings on top of my own...A good way to treat a pregnant woman I think not!!!

@MrsTwentyNine we had a scan yesterday. On the 50th percentile so bang on the middle line, 28 weeks + 2 and weighing around 2lb11. It's so funny to think of them as real wee humans now isn't it!xx

Lostintranslatio · 30/03/2022 20:13

@unknownscot always always lie on to your side and then roll onto your back, and the other way around to get up. Pregnant and not pregnant. Sitting up puts too much pressure on the abs. And always make effort/exercise breathing out, not holding your breath. Sorry, I have been terrified of diastasis recti for years 😅

sunflower198 · 30/03/2022 20:43

@MrsTwentyNine I had a scan at 28 weeks and he was 2lbs 9oz x

Rolledthedice · 30/03/2022 20:45

@Prema112 - thanks for your reply, I’m glad I’m not the only one! Yes achy is the way I’d describe it too. I actually got my OH to take a look as I was worried about varicose veins down there. One side is basically much bigger than the other - I only noticed it when I wiped and now when I’m walking I can feel it too. I might try a cold flannel on it. 🙈

Vimto1991 · 30/03/2022 20:54

I have two growth scans from being high risk but I’ll be 32 weeks and 37 weeks… does this seem too late? All you guys are having them at 28 so I’m super confused.

Honey2 · 30/03/2022 20:59

@MrsTwentyNine we had a nhs growth scan at 28 weeks and were told baby measuring 80/90th centile for HC and AC - a shock as previous growth scans had tracked the 30th centile. Then Had another scan at 30 weeks to find back on the 30th! Lol just shows growth scans are not always so accurate - it seems it can really depend on babies position and the sonographer on the day.

EarlGreywithLemon · 30/03/2022 21:00

@Vimto1991 my scan is at 32 weeks too. The last midwife I saw seemed to suggest it could be either at 28 weeks or at 32 (though she wasn’t that clear - lovely but came across a bit scatty). In any case, I’m now booked in at 32 weeks.

pregnancydiaries · 30/03/2022 21:01

@Vimto1991 my 28 scan was a private scan, my NHS growth scans are at 31 and 36 weeks xx

Honey2 · 30/03/2022 21:02

@Vimto1991 I guess it depends why you are high risk? I had early growth scans and Doppler (blood flow to placenta) scans at 23 and 28 as I’ve had previous still birth and that combined with my age makes me high risk for fetal growth restriction. Are you high risk for a different reason perhaps? Xx

Vimto1991 · 30/03/2022 21:04

Ah okay! Thanks guys!! That’s a relief, thought they may have screwed up my appointments 😅

@Honey2 I have Graves’ disease/hypothyroidism which can affect growth apparently.

Rolledthedice · 30/03/2022 21:08

@Octoblockisadick yes they offer 3 online classes that are totally free!

mybabyacademy.co.uk/free-online-workshop/

I was really impressed with the midwife who ran it and my OH was scribbling down notes the entire time. 😅

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/03/2022 02:41

Urgh I’m so sorry @Vimto1991 and everyone else having work stress. You’d really think by now businesses and managers would be better at adjusting work loads for pregnant women.

Im sorry about your stress and finger pricking too, @destiEos - GD does not sound fun 😞 neither does carpal tunnel! You have my sympathies!

Good news today - they’re going to try to get my husband home for the birth. Just a small matter of having no idea when baby will arrive… or where DH be when we call him home 😂 He’ll be sent back out afterwards and I’m okay with that. I’d just love it if he made it home 💕

fpeg · 31/03/2022 04:17

@PleaseSendNoodles that's wonderful! Everything crossed for you that he makes it home x

I think a lot of the work stuff come from the fact that people who have never been pregnant just have no idea how much it takes out of you, they think it's just all normal until the baby arrives and then that's when the problems start! I certainly have a new found respect for pregnant ladies and I thought I had a reasonable understanding before - how wrong I was 😂

Lostintranslatio · 31/03/2022 06:12

@PleaseSendNoodles delighted to hear that your DH might be able to make it home when the baby comes ❤️
