@4thtimethecharm so pleased nothing concerning was found at your scan.

I’m loving all the nursery pics. We are not very organised here. Nursery is currently my office and all weve done so far is empty the built in wardrobes.

@CurryandSnuggle gorgeous bump! And I had no idea Dorothy Perkins did maternity clothes. I feel a dangerous shopping haul coming on! 🤣

JAR1981 · 29/03/2022 17:24

Current nursery pic attached. I have some serious sorting to do!

@fpeg @Flowerbug1994 my hospital list is mahoosive so planning a wheelie for me and a holdall for LO. Hubs can sort himself and I’ve put him on the ‘ambience’ list too 😂

@Lostintranslatio sadly a bump support hasn’t worked for me either however I’ll try post the exercise program my physio put together for lower back pain for me tonight. It’s helping.

sunflower198 · 29/03/2022 17:41

Has anybody had their bloods checked recently? I had mine last week and can see they've updated on my app (I missed a call from midwife and haven't been able to get back in touch).
My ferritin level says 12 but I don't know if that's low/normal.
I've been feeling really rubbish this week so wondering if it's potentially low iron or just the GD medication taking its toll now!

Prema112 · 29/03/2022 17:54

@JAR1981 Love that your fur baby is enjoying the nursery for now Smile

I'm exhausted this week and feeling pretty fed up. My little boy has been ill and off school for a week now, we had to go to a&e as he had all the symptoms of meningitis. Thank God it wasn't that, just a very nasty throat infection. It's really tricky juggling looking after him with work especially as I'm so done with work already so it's even harder to stay motivated! And he's waking up in the night crying 😢 Sorry I'm just on here for a moan really. I'd love a holiday right now!!

Oh whoever recommended the Positive Birth Company Hypnobithing course, (was it @GrowBabyGrow?) thank you!! I'm loving it and I'm very sure hypnobirthing was the reason my last birth was so positive, I'd urge everyone to do it!

pregnancydiaries · 29/03/2022 18:14

We had our 28 growth scan today and LO was facing my back so the midwife spent approx an hour trying to annoy him and get him to move. He still didn't budge and now I'm floored with mum guilt that we spent an hour annoying him ☹️

@sunflower198 I'm assuming the phone call would be start you on iron tablets. In my trust ferritin below 30 requires iron tablets and anything less than 10 might require an iron transfusion (currently waiting for my updated results after them being 12 at my last check last week) xx

Octoblockisadick · 29/03/2022 18:32

@Flowerbug1994 I'm planning on a holdall/ gym bag style for my stuff at the minute. Will decide for definite when I've got out all the things to go in it though.

@sunflower198, i agree with @pregnancydiaries that it's low so they'll probably be phoning to get you to take iron tablets.

@Prema112 oh no, hope he's feeling a bit better now! It's awful when they're ill, and even harder when you are struggling too Flowers.

TMI question - does anyone else feel "damp"? I'm not sure what it is Confused. I don't think (hope!) that I'm weeing myself. I'm hoping it isn't my waters, but otherwise could it be sweat? Discharge? I don't know!

pregnancydiaries · 29/03/2022 18:34

Also ladies thanks so much for all the birthday love yesterday, you guys da best x

beansprout55 · 29/03/2022 18:41

I'm loving the hypnobirthing course too! Feeling so exciting for the experience rather than the terror I felt before 😂

Have any of you had a prolapse? I'm 99.9% sure last week I had a posterior prolapse (rectocele). This is my first pregnancy and I understand it's more uncommon for it to happen during pregnancy and usually happens (if it does) as a result of childbirth. It's now making me question whether a section would be better, as surely a VB will make it 10X worse and potentially cause an anterior prolapse too.
Going to chat to MW and physio about it on Thursday but I can't help but be concernedBlush

sunflower198 · 29/03/2022 19:22

@pregnancydiaries @Octoblockisadick thank you both. I was worried it might be low but because the midwife left no message or tried again I wasn't sure!
I have a GD consultant telephone appt tomorrow so will ask if they can check, but if not I'll keep trying the midwife!

pregnancydiaries · 29/03/2022 19:43

Try not to worry too much @sunflower198, it makes you feel like absolute crap but the reassurance I got was that ferritin would run out before your iron levels were impacted too much. But god I'm with you on feeling like absolute rubbish with it xx

CurryandSnuggle · 29/03/2022 19:53

@PeeAche2 aww I feel you. I had a pouch/apron after my first born which has never gone, although somehow my skin has stretched back into it during pregnancy I have a feeling it will be worse post-birth. I did grow to accept it but I found it frustrating that no matter how much weight I lost, how well I was eating, how much running and walking I did I still had an apron. I’ve decided that once I’ve had all the kids I want I’m going to have abdominoplasty.

CurryandSnuggle · 29/03/2022 19:59

@JAR1981 Hahaha, sorry for being a total enabler 😂 thank you by the way ❤️

@Prema112 oh bless you, sorry to read that your son isn’t well. Hope he feels better very soon xx

JAR1981 · 29/03/2022 21:34

I’m loving the hypnobirthing course too. Doing 2 videos a day on my morning dog walk with the husband so he feels part of the birth plan too.

@Prema112 the dog won’t know what’s hit her soon! She definitely rules the roost right now.

@Octoblockisadick yes to the dampness. I keep panicking and going to the toilet but pretty sure it is just excess discharge. Plus I am generally a bit sweatier it seems in pregnancy so could be that too. How lovely!

SouthwestSis · 29/03/2022 21:37

@sunflower198 in the meantime try and boost your iron intake with iron rich (dark green) veg, and drinking orange juice for vitamin C can help your body absorb as much of the iron as possible from your diet.

GrowBabyGrow · 29/03/2022 21:38

Ladies with PGP/SPD, is there a way you've found to explain it to friends and family that helps them get that it's not just usual pregnancy aches and pains? I mentioned to a friend about how I've been starting to struggle with it and that my pelvis is really sore and impacting my mobility and she didn't say much apart from sending sympathy. And then today suggested we go for a country walk at the weekend! So I think she thinks I'm exaggerating or maybe believes that movement will help? I just don't know how to explain it in a different way without sounding like a drama queen but genuinely I popped down the road to the supermarket this evening which is less than 10 minutes walk and by the time I got home I was so sore Sad

Rolledthedice · 30/03/2022 01:06

Another TMI question - does anyone else have a swollen/enlarged vulva or labia?? This is not a symptom I was expecting! My existing varicose vein in calf is also bulging away so I’m a bit worried I’ll get one in the down below area too. 🙈

Rolledthedice · 30/03/2022 01:09

@destiEos thank you for the heads up! I’ll have to get my skates on and order this week. For nursing chairs I was looking at the Tutti Bambini Noah rocking chair as it can also be used with normal chair legs.

Rolledthedice · 30/03/2022 01:13

Oh whoever it was that mentioned attending the free webinars on Baby Academy - thank you so much! We joined the Baby Care one this evening and both learnt loads and feel far more prepared. I’ve cancelled my in person NCT classes (still too nervous about it unfortunately) and signed up for the full day Antenatal Course with Baby Academy instead. 😊

PleaseSendNoodles · 30/03/2022 02:12

I’m another one loving hypnobirthing!

Also - had confirmation that my DH will be away longer than planned. Open ended return date… fun!

So I treated myself to a doughnut and private scan in a bid to cheer up (can get a same day appointment for less than £40 here). It was especially nice as my hospital photos were naff. Now I’m biased… but isn’t she cute?! 😍

fpeg · 30/03/2022 07:16

@PleaseSendNoodles so cute 🥰

Prema112 · 30/03/2022 08:29

@PleaseSendNoodles look at those little toes!! So sorry your DH will be away longer- so tough.

@Octoblockisadick & @CurryandSnuggle thank you. He's ok but still off again today, can't shift the very sore throat.

@Rolledthedice unfortunately yes, not a nice symptom but read it's normal, doesn't exactly hurt but can be achey.

yellowpinkbluegreen · 30/03/2022 08:49

I picked up my Emma's diary packs from boots yesterday and then tried to also buy a pack of aspirin (recommended to take it by docs in pregnancy). The woman in shop then said that she couldn't sell me the aspirin because I was pregnant...? I was kind of like oh really I'm supposed to take it in pregnancy and she just said - nope can't sell it to you cos you're pregnant.

I left and was fine about it as I wasn't desperate to get the aspirin and can get them another time but equally I have since thought about the comment and found it super weird. I'm pregnant not 12 years old 😂😂😂 how odd!

destiEos · 30/03/2022 08:52

@Rolledthedice very nice, and they say it's delivered in 14 days! I tried out the Mamas and Papas one and liked it - not sure I £600 liked it, but i figure I'll be spending some time in it - no other comfy chairs in the flat and I can barely get out of the sofa as it is :D

@fpeg 5 days :O that is scary..

@PleaseSendNoodles she is! that teeny foot is wonderful :) Sorry to hear you have a longer wait till DH comes home - we're all here in the meantime!

@Prema112 hope today is a better day for your DC Biscuit

All - I turned on the news this morning and I advise you to turn it off straight away if they start talking about the Shrewsbury Trust :| I was crying into my porridge at 7:30am (also, don't eat muesli with banana for breakfast if you have GD - my blood glucose went up to 7.4 and hadn't dropped below 6.5 again even after dinner)

EarlGreywithLemon · 30/03/2022 09:02

@sunflower198 I took a cabin sized wheely bag for me (and my husband was allowed some space in it Grin) and used the changing bag for the baby. That seemed to work. I had snacks, water, phone charger, my iPad etc in a small shoulder bag,. So A LOT of stuff!
@beansprout55 yes, I did have a small prolapse after birth. I did a lot of pelvic physio with a specialist physio and after a few months she said she couldn’t detect the prolapse anymore. I also had to rest for a bit - l was on really restricted walking and standing for those few months. I’d suggest you speak to the physio when you see her. She should hopefully be clued up and able to advise.

destiEos · 30/03/2022 09:02

@yellowpinkbluegreen exact same thing happened to me with aspirin, just went to the next chemist on the high street and when they asked said the aspirin was for DH (who admittedly was there)

They won't sell you pretty much anything without a prescription if you're pregnant. Anusol aside obvs Grin
