Happy Mother's Day to everyone else, no celebrations for me this year, although I got my hair done, finally! So happy

Found out yesterday that DH's gran passed away so he's going to be away for a few days taking his dad to look after funeral arrangements and so on. Feeling selfish that I'm worried about being alone and also that he's missing our first antenatal class (at least) 😢 Are we allowed to take someone else? Or are there lots of women who go alone and it'll be fine?

@destiEos my work colleague goes to NCT on her own, although I imagine it’s usually couples. Might be worth asking if you can bring a friend?

I am comforted by some of your descriptions of the NCT classes so I think I'll stick with it.

Is this PGP? Pain in my upper inner thigh groin area, feels like it's in my bones. It's especially painful first thing in the morning, trying to put socks on for example, and into the night. When I turn in my sleep it really hurts! I can't make sense of the feeling, my body just feels so different.

I'm 27 weeks now, I wonder if my golden time of barely any symptoms is over.

Got pres1cribed antibiotics for uti:( been 3 days since taking it but still burninf pee. Anyone else had similar? How long did it take before it got bettef

@hellointhere yup! That describes my PGP. It's so bad now that I have physio on Friday, but, I spent the weekend copying PGP exercises/stretches on YouTube and I climbed the stairs pain free today for the first time in months! So, I recommend doing that. At this rate I won't need physio - they'll only tell me what exercises to do anyway! xx

Oh no @MrsNT that sounds rough. If no relief soon, maybe it’s worth getting the doc to try different antibiotics? Also - not sure if you can get something else to help while the antibiotics do their thing? Cystopurin or similar? Not sure if it’s okay in pregnancy though.

@destiEos sorry to hear about your DH’s gran. I go to almost everything alone (appointments, classes etc) and nobody bats an eyelid. I went to antenatal classes with my friend last year because her husband was away and that worked well. I was just referred to as the ‘support person’. Do whichever makes you feel more comfortable.

DP has booked me in for a pregnancy massage for my birthday at a lovely spa hotel and I cannot wait, although I'm slightly apprehensive as I'm worrying about everything this pregnancy. Has anyone else had one? Any feedback?xx

@Rolledthedice @PleaseSendNoodles thanks, my mum's offered to come with me, might take her up on it, don't fancy getting the bus at 7:30pm and back home at 9:30pm on my own either, such a pregnant wuss!

@pregnancydiaries - I had a pregnancy maassage a few weeks ago when I was away, it was amazing and I've meant to book another one in since I've been back but haven't got around to it. Highly recommended!

Happy birthday @pregnancydiaries. I LOVED my pregnancy massage. She had a big pillow thing so I could lay on my side with my leg over it for her to access my back. And tilted my bed up when I was laying on my back so that I wasn’t flat. The bed was heated too, bliss. Have a lovely day.

Today is my first day back after a week off for my birthday and working on the nursery (attached), well I watched DH do most the hard work :) I’m finding it really difficult to be back at work. Everything feels overwhelming and stressful, and I wish I had taken more than two weeks off annual leave before my due date. Not sure I can mentally cope :(

@Vimto1991 your nursery looks gorgeous! Sorry you're not feeling great. This feels like every day for me, constantly fogged by a haze and just don't feel right. I've been off for 2 weeks now and back tomorrow - dreading it.

@Vimto1991 - aw, that is lovely :) And I feel you about work, I'm literally counting the days til 15th April - we're both until the 24th and then we've added days around the May and June bank holidays too, so should be ok without taking anything else off before due date...truth be told, I could happily have stopped months ago :D

@JAR1981 sorry to hear about your crap GP policy. Are you able to phone your midwife/midwifes office and speak to them about your mental health? They might be able to refer you to a specialist mental health midwife. And you may be able to self-refer for physio. My midwife pointed me in direction of how to do that.

Bump update, taken at 30+1. I love it ❤️ Feeling big now though and it’s increasingly difficult to do my own shoes up 😂

I'm also joining the PGP club :( have an appt this week with an osteopath who is a specialist (lucky to have one nearby!) so hopeful that will help. It came on so suddenly.

Calculated that today with all bank holidays and leave taken out, I have 51 days left of work before mat leave. It feels simulataneously like too many days and not enough to get all my projects wrapped up!

@GrowBabyGrow thank you!! Yeah it’s one of those box sized rooms but we crossed our fingers everything would fit in, and still feels roomy! I had it as my office and relegated to another room 🙈 I just used a calculator and without weekends, bank holidays, and the fact I chose to drop to four days a week after Easter, it leaves me with 34 days at work! 😬 people are emailing me regarding new projects let alone outstanding ones, and my maternity cover only started today 🙈 not enough time, but it’s also going to drag I know it!!

For everyone, thanks so much for the support and positive thoughts. We just had our scan at FMU, and except for the previously seen soft markers, which were confirmed again, they could not see any other (new) concerning issues pointing at genetic issues. They offered amnio, but also said that we could wait a few weeks for baby to be bigger and stronger, as with my luck, you'd see it would induce early labour. So, we are going to see next time how everything is and may do it then. If we want an amnio after all before that, we can schedule one in, but for now, we are leaving it. We are now just going to try to relax (sort of) and then see at the next appointment.
