@MrsTwentyNine the only way I can describe it is like when you go up on a rollercoaster and you suddenly drop down and your stomach flips 😂😂

Flowerbug1994 · 19/03/2022 18:10

@MrsTwentyNine when I have what I describe as rolls I genuinely feel like something has turned inside me 😂😂 also get lots of what I would describe as just movement there not rolls or kicks. I have been trying to work out what position my baby is in because I feel most of my movements and kicks still very low down in my pelvis and done really see my stomach moving from the outside. I have a growth scan in 2 weeks so I should know then how he’s lying.

Flowerbug1994 · 19/03/2022 18:12

Anyone else got there GTT tests next week. Mine is on Monday 😭😭😭 hoping this isn’t my last couple days with carbs. I eat an Easter egg last night incase I can’t have one at Easter

JAR1981 · 19/03/2022 18:13

Me too on the rolls. If I’m sat on the sofa after dinner watching TV I can literally see my stomach ripple across from one side to the other. @MrsTwentyNine in addition to the rollercoaster feeling I also often feel it as I kind of slow pressure building from the inside.

@Lostintranslatio if your midwife is saying you need iron I’m surprised she isn’t prescribing some for you free of charge? And yep, it’s the iron itself that causes constipation. I’m on 600mg a day along with prunes, prune juice, flaxseed, half a fibogel and one dose of lactulose just to try and keep things moving 😩

JAR1981 · 19/03/2022 18:15

@Flowerbug1994 excellent thinking on the Easter egg! 🤣

Lostintranslatio · 19/03/2022 18:46

@JAR1981 thingis that the iron levels were perfect in the blood test results. She just said to add an iron supplement from week 28, as a complement to my prenatal vitamins 🙄

MrsTwentyNine · 19/03/2022 19:04

@pregnancydiaries @Flowerbug1994 @JAR1981 ooo thank you ladies! I'll see if I can spot any! I have had the rollercoaster type feeling sometimes when I yawn / stretch then I tell myself it's just me yawning and not the baby...or maybe he is flipping in response to my belly stretching 😂 Who even knows!

Also I have my GTT next week! Have diabetes in the family so I'm scared too @Flowerbug1994 :( I did a random blood sugar test and it was normal but that of course means nothing but hopefully we will be okay 🤞🏽 I need to re-read the instructions - is it no food from 10pm the previous day ?

MrsTwentyNine · 19/03/2022 19:38

Apologies if this has been asked a hundred times by now
I was just counting how many sleepsuits and short sleeved bodysuits I have...
Do they need a bodysuit / vest underneath the sleepsuits when they sleep at night even in the summer ? I just assumed it was just sleepsuit! Or how about if it was a sleeping bag? Is it a vest inside ? How do we know...ahh minefield!

MrsNT · 19/03/2022 19:51

Ladies i made a trip to primark and ventured into the men section. Found the softest short sleeve summer button down shirt and got it in XXL size ..nice and baggy and lenght wise modest enough to wear during labour. It was for £9 . Im going to buy another one to wear as a nightdress.

@JAR1981 am very serious about my Cadbury’s shells I love themmmmm 😍😍😍

@MrsTwentyNine I was fretting over how to dress a summer baby and my mum litterly said to me calm down you will know what your baby wants. She said she always went with the baby in one more layer than she was

beansprout55 · 19/03/2022 20:27

The book that came with the hypnobirthing package from The Positive Birth Company is officially my best buy for all things baby related so far. Wow! Only 30 pages in and I'm already feeling so confident and SO excited for the labour. Honestly, you all need to buy it. Now.

So glad I'm reading this before making a birth plan. Thank you so so much for whoever it was on this that recommended it (baby brain memory, sorry!) xxx

Movements definitely got bigger for me this week (27 + 1) - really whacking my stomach at some point today. Also got my first kick in the ribcage area - shortly followed by piano playing on my bladder. I guess he's uncurled himself a bit! I love to think of him growing bigger and stronger, getting ready to be born.

Really weird but I'm suddenly craving alcohol. Hardly drank at all pre-pregnancy anyway and now I'm fantasising about cocktails?? I think it's more the unwinding/switching off factor associated with alcohol, rather than the alcohol itself, but it's quite bizarre!

MrsTwentyNine · 19/03/2022 20:45

Thank you @Flowerbug1994 and @MrsNT ! Ooo that table looks good. I'll try to find the original image as I can't see it clearly on my laptop.

@beansprout55 funny you post that as I'm literally signing in and accessing all the packs that came with the bundle! Super useful. I'm just looking through and there are lectures on breastfeeding, bottle feeding etc in the postpartum pack and PGP in the pregnancy pack...this is so useful and such a bargain for £50! Thank you from me too to whoever mentioned this!

MrsTwentyNine · 19/03/2022 20:46

Also @mrsnt ...brilliant idea about mens shirts as labour outfit...I never thought of doing that! Genius!

MrsNT · 19/03/2022 21:08

@mrstwentynine if you find original image can u share link. I was looking for oroginal one aswell .want to keep a printed copy in babys drawer

@Clomid1 aww yeah I can’t really keep up with the thread much either 😂 I’ve probably missed like 3 out of the 8 threads 😅

I’m having a girl (well sonographer said she was 96% sure lol), what about you?

CurryandSnuggle · 19/03/2022 22:13

@Octoblockisadick congratulations on your promotion, that’s so exciting 😍

Also, thanks for your thoughts re: my pelvic pain. I think I just need to rest but do little bits of walking because sitting for too long, and equally standing for too long does seem to exacerbate it.

CurryandSnuggle · 19/03/2022 22:14

@BunBun221 thank you for your support. How are you getting on now with the pain? Hope you’ve started seeing some improvement? Xx

CurryandSnuggle · 19/03/2022 22:17

@PleaseSendNoodles sorry to read you may have to give birth alone. Keep this mantra in your head: you are a powerful, strong and capable woman and if you need to do it alone you will be so able! I know it’s not in your plan though so sorry to read that ❤️ Like you say, with all the suffering in the world it really helps to think of things with a different perspective. Xx

CurryandSnuggle · 19/03/2022 22:24

Sorry for all the posts, catching up on 4 pages 😂😂😂 @PeeAche2 yes!! Bridgerton season 2 on Friday whoop. However what I am not looking forward to is a 2.5 hour drive for my mums 60th. She also wants me to stay the night but I really don’t want to, I just need my own bed at 30 weeks pregnant especially with my pelvic pain.

unknownscot · 20/03/2022 04:59

I would seriously question this logic with your midwife, if there's no indication that you need iron supplements why take them?

Too much of something can be bad, just like having too little.

Doesn't seem there's a real justification for you taking them, and I don't believe it's standard practice to encourage iron supplements from 28 weeks.

Letsbekindplease · 20/03/2022 07:17

Hi everyone. What sterilising unit do you have for the bottles ?

I had my midwife app last week and it went fine (I think) still not had bloods back but I’m hoping they are ok.

They’ve started talking about contra spy already which made me laugh. I said she doesn’t need to talk to me about that. It’s not top of my list after having a baby to get back in the saddle lol.

Went through my sons old baby clothes and sleepsuits and I am keeping so much. Maybe too much! I like a baby in a sleepsuit so just going to use them again and I’ve got the odd wee outfit for her on nice summer day out.

Also got my mat leave letter. Can’t believe how shit it is!!!!! Not even 1 months is full pay. At my work you can be off sick for 6mo the full pay (which gets a abused) and yet maternity is so piss poor. They don’t encourage mums to be off with their babies at all. Terrible. 21 weeks @ £150 a week!! How do you survive on that?

pregnancydiaries · 20/03/2022 07:47

@Letsbekindplease what is contra spy? I googled it and all I got was MI5 secret agency 😂😂

That is so so poor about mat leave. Mine also is pretty crap at 8 weeks full pay and apparently lots of people go back and then get signed off sick with "stress" to utilise the full pay on sickness policy. So not right that woman are having to do that xx

Lostintranslatio · 20/03/2022 07:48

@unknownscot she mentioned that after taking my bloods, maybe she was expecting some deficiency. Anyway you're right. I have an appointment at 28 weeks with GP and I will check with her. If my iron levels are fine, the iron in pregnancy vitamins might be enough.
