@Mags146

Good afternoon everyone! So I needed to tell my manager about the little bean. She organised a meeting with me, took me for a coffee and wanted to see if I was OK as she's noticed I was a bit different recently, lost my focus and wasn't "quite there". I couldn't not say what was going on! I was supposed to tell her next week, but it's all done now. She took it well, and was chafed and noticed something was going on. The schedule of my team will need to be changed as I won't be able to go to events in summer. Quite glad it's all done, I need to organise meeting with HR next week.
That's great! A relief when it's out of the way :)
stimpyyouidiot · 21/02/2022 14:49

Such a headache and feeling so sick. Possibly not the best day to start a diet of sorts. Will eat an apple and shut my eyes for a little bit before getting dd from school

annlee3817 · 21/02/2022 15:13

@110APiccadilly they weren't interested in my LFT test at the 12 week scan, only wanted to see my DH's 🤷

Peauela · 21/02/2022 15:47

Ahhh my scan is today in 2.5 hours! I cant wait but I'm also so anxious I feel sick. I just hope baby is ok.

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/02/2022 16:59

I had an appointment today for blood tests, testing urine and weigh and height. I appear to have shrunk my hair a centimetre and I weigh the same as pre pregnancy. Which I think means that I've lost weight but the pregnancy has balanced me out at the same weight. I still feel repulsed by all food!

HeyBlaby · 21/02/2022 17:19

@izzyLeigh we're in the process of selling our two smaller properties to get a bigger one closer to DPs parents. It never goes smoothly and looking like by the time it's all done we'll be moving at the time I'm 8 months or so pregnant. Only plus is it hopefully will be a new build, so easy to move into, but still, the thought makes me feel ill! Sad

surprised12 · 21/02/2022 19:24
@surprised12 at my booking in appointment the midwife suggested slimming world. I'm going to start once my appetite resembles some kind of normality. I'm still struggling with food!

I've just sneezed and it feels like I've ripped muscles around my womb. I think it was because I was trying not to pee myself at the same time. My pelvic floor muscles ain't what they used to be!
Would honestly recommend- my group is so lovely, you can eat unlimited potato, pasta, rice etc so you are never hungry - it's just adding in veg/fruit/salad and swapping out naughty snacks for better choices.

They also have awards for pregnant ladies so you get some TLC along your pregnancy too. It's my little Tuesday routine now :)

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/02/2022 19:33

Thank you @surprised12 - I will look up my local group. I definitely want to give it a go, I hope my appetite will return soon.

Peauela · 21/02/2022 19:37

Had my scan! Baby is almost 3cm and we have a lovely heartbeat 🥰 he was moving his little leg 🥺 I'm 9+5 today.

I was told we both had to have tested negative but that they'd take it on trust and not need to see any proof (seems sensible as after all if you wanted to fake a negative it would be easy enough to do!) We shall see.

Bizarrely when DD was born they swabbed me on admittance (PCR, I don't think we had LFTs back then) but never tested DH, who was my birth partner, at all!

ShiningStarz · 21/02/2022 20:56

Aww congrats @Peauela ❤️

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/02/2022 22:01

Congratulations @Peauela

Earlier this evening, I cried big snotty tears about feeling unwell. Poor DH just gave me a big hug. The man has the patience of a saint!

IzzyLeigh · 21/02/2022 23:04

@annlee3817 we’ve been renting but my husband is thinking maybe now is the time to buy our first house too! I think he’s crazy and that it sounds like far too much to take on all at the same time! Although I am loving the idea of being able to paint the nursery and wallpaper and stuff without worrying about having repaint when a lease is up. How are you finding home-buying process so far? Also, how great that you already found the house and everything!

@ShiningStarz honestly, I’m more worried about going into labor while we’re in the crucial days of needing to be out of one house and needing to move into the other! What were some of the things you regret buying? That’s some good insight that I’ll certainly need! I feel like I’ll be that sucker who will be tricked into thinking I need everything in order to make sure baby is safe and happy, even when logically I know I don’t need it.

@HeyBlaby Glad I’m not the only one having to uproot their lives in the final month! Misery loves company, after all! Moving buddies Smile At least we’ll have an excuse to not have to do a ton of the packing and stuff haha

@mummylou1982 and @spierse good luck with your scans tomorrow!!

@Mags146 I’m so happy that things went well when you told work! Must feel like a huge relief. I’m dreading mine and trying to put it off as long as possible, even though I want to tell everyone ASAP so they can understand why I’ve been so spacey and unfocused these days

@stimpyyouidiot I hope you’re feeling a little better by now! I’ve been trying to comfort myself with apples too. Not quite doing the trick haha

@surprised12 UNLIMITED PASTA?!

@Peauela congrats on the lovely scan!

@TotoAnnihiliation I hate that you’ve been having such a rough go of things. I really hope you start to feel better soon Sad

@IzzyLeigh I'm sure there's more than I can remember!! I already have a sept baby. I bought things like mittens, booties, cotton hats, dressing gown 3-6 months, loads of muslins, 5 blankets and little outfits!!! Never used any of them!! In the end I used vests, babygrows (zip ones were amazing), 2 cardigans, snowsuit for outdoor walks, 1 blanket and 1 hat!!! Had a couple small Muslims for feeding! It's so easy to go mad.

ShiningStarz · 22/02/2022 08:43

Muslins xx

ShiningStarz · 22/02/2022 08:45

Awww congrats @spierse

Iv my scan later tonight! Don't know how I am going to get through a day of work! Could barely get to sleep last night!!

Carebear99 · 22/02/2022 08:59

Hi everyone I'm still completely without symptoms as has been the case for the past week or maybe longer. Anyone else the same?

Roll on Friday for the 12 week scan. If that goes OK I'm going to buy my little girl some little outfits. I've seen a lovely dress in Tesco and a born in 2022 outfit in asda

ShiningStarz · 22/02/2022 09:13

@Carebear99 I was just like you in my last pregnancy! Felt nothing at all!! Friday will come round soon enough!
I didn't buy anything until nearly 30 weeks!
Don't forget to buy for the season!
My little one wasn't in a dress until at least 6 months!! Make a list and when you feel ready start buying but I would advise you to wait, there's still a long time to go yet.

Carebear99 · 22/02/2022 09:17

@ShiningStarz thank you. I had always planned to buy 2 outfits of the 12 week scan goes OK. I won't buy anything else until near the end at I'm obsessed I'll miscarry. Good point re seasons!

Hope all is well with you

Belle2210 · 22/02/2022 11:14

Finally have my midwife app tomorrow! Anyone else getting close to 12 weeks and getting more tired? Was looking forward to apparently feeling more alive by then but maybe not 😂

IzzyLeigh · 22/02/2022 11:15

@spierse congrats on the gorgeous scan!

@ShiningStarz good to know! I totally would have bought all of that stuff right off the bat too. Seems like the consensus is a buy-as-needed approach? It’s hard though because you just kind of want to buy everything and be as prepared as possible (not to mention everything is so cute!)

Hi ladies, I was with you all on thread 1 and 2 and took a break because if bleeding and worries. Thankfully a scan at 7 weeks showed all is ok.

I am now 9 weeks but I have Covid and I am so worried! Does anyone know what impact covid can have on the baby this early on. I've stopped feeling nauseous now and I'm so concerned.

spierse · 22/02/2022 11:58

@Rebeccalin I had covid at 5 weeks and just had my 12 week scan, so far everything is looking good with no issues, try not to worry too much there seem to be a lot of us on this group who have had covid during this pregnancy ❤

ShiningStarz · 22/02/2022 12:25

@Rebeccalin I had Covid too at 7 weeks!
I had my vaccinations though including booster.
I have my scan today. I did speak to a midwife when I tested positive but she said it's fine and no issues. Think now wit the milder variants it's less of a worry.
