@nicc1000 thinking if you.

@Goodgoodthings congratulations. Well done

Peauela · 15/03/2022 11:14

Hey girls and congratulations on all the good news! 💕

I have a question for those who opted for NIPT (Harmony) testing - how long have you been waiting for your results? I'm so impatient! I'm based in Ireland and I know that Thursday and Friday are bank holidays this year and I had mine taken on Monday last week... really hoping I'll get the results before the long weekend!

annlee3817 · 15/03/2022 11:54

Sorry you're experiencing this worry @nicc1000 hope you get the results back quickly and all is ok

annlee3817 · 15/03/2022 11:56

@Goodgoodthings yey! Congratulations!

@Peauela I had it done Monday 7th Feb in the evening and for the results on Thursday 17th Feb

Peauela · 15/03/2022 12:02

@annlee3817 ahhh that doesn't make me feel better at all 😂

annlee3817 · 15/03/2022 12:06

Lol sorry @Peauela no one else's seemed to take as long though

ShiningStarz · 15/03/2022 12:32

@Peauela who requested the test for you?
I posted mine on wed morn, lab received it by Thursday morning and the consultant who I see privately emailed me result the following Tuesday night so only took 4 working days... it doesn't take long for lab to analyse. I would chase up if you've been waiting longer than 5 working days.

ShiningStarz · 15/03/2022 12:33

Brill news @Goodgoodthings !!

Peauela · 15/03/2022 12:38

@ShiningStarz a private doctor I go to, he did say the results should be in before the long weekend! I might call them tomorrow just to see if they're in. Thanks xx

ShiningStarz · 15/03/2022 12:44

@Peauela they really don't take that long. The consultant will have them emailed to him/her.
If you don't want to know the sex don't get a copy of the report! I opted for a short email excluding the sex

ShiningStarz · 15/03/2022 12:45

@Peauela I would phone today and then chase up tomo. Labs don't close for bank holidays but the clinic might.

Peauela · 15/03/2022 12:51

@ShiningStarz are you in the UK or Ireland (or elsewhere)? Because I'm in Ireland and I have a feeling they might be sending samples to the lab in the UK which may cause delays? I don't really know.

And we do want to know the sex! He asked when I was signing a form, I could have opted in or out of finding out the gender :)

TotoAnnihiliation · 15/03/2022 12:53
@IzzyLeigh ah likewise! I had some negative reactions to being vegan with my first so I don't often mention it 😅 to each their own! DD was a very healthy 9lbs 7oz lol so it definitely didn't affect her growth!

I am low key obsessed with nutritional yeast, so good 🤤 I've definitely had it way less often through morning sickness so maybe that's what's made a difference come to think of it. Cannot wait to get some energy back! How are you feeling?

Also wanted to share that I found out that I got the job today! Still at the same company but something I've wanted for ages. Not sure I would have gone for it without you ladies encouraging me with being pregnant, but when I shared my news with the team they were really positive, it couldn't have gone better.
Wonderful news on the job! Well done you 🥳

IzzyLeigh · 15/03/2022 13:00

@Goodgoodthings oh good! I wasn’t sure if nutritional yeast was as popular among the veg community over there as it is here in the US. Other added bonus, which I didn’t realize for quite some time, is that it has a ton of folic acid in it too! I hear you on having it less lately due to morning sickness though. Maybe throw it on some popcorn? That’s what I did when I found I had food aversions to basically everything else I normally put it on. And I’m feeling good! Those food aversions are finally calming down, thank goodness. Really found it challenging since it was mostly in regard to vegetables, which is usually what I mostly eat haha
And congrats on the job!!!

@Peauela, I’m not sure if my answer will help being that I’m in the US and I had a different brand of NIPT (QNatal, not Harmony), but I had my NIPT bloodwork taken early morning on Tuesday, March 1 and got my results from the lab on the evening of Wednesday, March 9. My doctor’s office called me the following day. So if the lab didn’t make the results available online, then I would have found out on Thursday, March 10. Then again, my blood was drawn here in the New York but was sent to a lab all the way in California, so I’m sure that accounts for most of the time it took.

@Peauela I'm
In Northern Ireland
. I posted the sample back myself and the lab received next day.
The sample is only stable for few days so it's definitely been analysed by now. The results are prob sitting in your doctors email

madeleine85 · 15/03/2022 13:55

@Goodgoodthings so happy for you!! Congrats on the well deserved new role ☺️

stimpyyouidiot · 15/03/2022 13:57

@nicc1000 if it helps, I only tested for ds as risk of edwards and pataus was low anyway and the results came back in 3 working days. Hoping it all goes ok x

stimpyyouidiot · 15/03/2022 13:57

Well done @Goodgoodthings !!! So pleased for you!!!

ShiningStarz · 15/03/2022 14:43

Anyone else exhausted still! I'm 14.5 weeks and come 2pm each day I can't function !!! Need to sleep but have to work 🥲🥲

15+1 here and exhausted.
Nannylp · 15/03/2022 16:02

@nicc1000
I'm so sorry your results came back high risk, its so so stressful. I'm sure its just your age that's thrown it off though rather than anything sinister in your blood work or scan measurements. I'm sure I've read that in some trusts they always recommend the NIPT for women over 40 as the combined screening results will always come back as high risk just due to age rather than anything else. It causes such unnecessary stress.
Fyi my NIPT came back within 7 days so hopefully yours will be speedy too

GlitteryGreen · 15/03/2022 16:58

@nicc1000 Thinking of you, hope all comes back well, I'm sure it will :)

@ShiningStarz Yeah I am tired, I don't usually notice as much as I wfh but the last few afternoons I've felt so tired in the afternoon. But I'm a crap napper, it makes me feel so groggy for the rest of the day, so I avoided it today and have perked up again :)

Pinkflamingofly · 15/03/2022 17:30

@Peauela I had the nipt done on a Sunday and got the results the following friday, so only 5 working days. But I live near big cities so imagine the lab isnt very far

Pinkflamingofly · 15/03/2022 17:32

@nicc1000 thinking of you, hopefully you wont have to wait long for the results. I hope they will come back low risk.

stimpyyouidiot · 15/03/2022 19:57

Is anyone else struggling with spots on their face?? I never had spots before. Covered in them now, looking and feeling awful!!
