For my first pregnancy my partner and I set aside money each month and then we ordered the pram after 20 week scan (only cause we were in lockdown and delivery times were awful). Didn't buy any clothes until around 33-34 weeks and had everything washed and bag packed by 36 weeks! As long as you have the basics to begin with you'll be fine

ShiningStarz · 08/03/2022 16:24

@Carebear99 hope you get your partner to understand. Definitely get him leaflets etc for him to read in his own time. I think it's hard to understand unless you've been there but he should really be more supportive

ShiningStarz · 08/03/2022 16:24

@Peauela fab scan!! How exciting!!
My next scan is at 16 weeks and then 19 weeks !

@Carebear99 I've had a phone call with the perinatal mental health team today. I phoned my doctors in tears yesterday and they referred me. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone from the service and they will decide the best course of action for me over the next few days. My husband is lovely but doesn't understand how I feel.

I'm planning to buy something for the baby after the 12 week scan. I want to get a set of baby grows or something like that. I have most the stuff from when DD was a baby so thankfully can save some money this time!

Carebear99 · 08/03/2022 17:23

@annlee3817 @ShiningStarz @TotoAnnihiliation thank you so much, it is so lovely to have others who understand.

I feel a bit numb with everything, I planned to buy a few outfits after the 12w scan but I just feel anxious all the time that I'll miscarry. I've told family and some people at work but kind of regretting that now. Some silly pertain commented that I was brave taking people so early, I was almost 13w then. I'm 13+4 now. I'm going for a private scan tomorrow.

*silly person I mean!

@Carebear99 I understand. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I've been a complete blabber mouth with this pregnancy and lots of people know, only because I've been so incredibly poorly, it was pretty obvious that I am with child.

Pregnancy is a rollercoaster, lots and ups and downs. You have done the right thing by reaching out for support, that can be the hardest step to take.

@stimpyyouidiot

I've totally gone off tea. What fresh hell is this???
Burst out laughing at this 🤣. Same here for the past month atleast. Just starting to drink the odd cup now and again.
stimpyyouidiot · 08/03/2022 18:59

@Belle2210 it's really new and I'm just soooo disappointed hahaha. I love tea! But I'm just like urgh no.

I've booked a private scan this morning, I'm 13+5 today. Roll on 10am

Em85kk · 09/03/2022 08:26

Got my scan today, bloody husband has got covid! My lateral flow is negative so I’m still going to go but a bit nervous about going on my own 🙁

@Carebear99 I was like this with my first baby, even to the point of when I gave birth and I saw her that I was kind of like ‘oh there was a baby in there!’ I definitely recommend getting help now, as for me it just got worse after she was born. Luckily I feel it’s under control now, but I’m keeping an eye on it and the midwife has advised me to see the perinatal team as soon as I need to. I fully expect to be back on medication before this one is born. Hope you get the help you need.

Carebear99 · 09/03/2022 08:34

Thanks @em85kk and good luck today!

Belle2210 · 09/03/2022 08:44

12 weeks scan here today too! 😁😁😁😁So excited 💕

110APiccadilly · 09/03/2022 09:21

It's anyone else already finding it hard to get into a comfy sleeping position?! I like to sleep on my front. It's not so much the bump as the boobs getting in the way tbh - they seem to have got (even more!) massive - and they weren't small before.

SoOverThisCrap · 09/03/2022 09:28

Hi ladies, can I join please? According to my most recent scan I should be 12 weeks today. I had one scan at 7 weeks, another scan a couple of weeks later due to brown spotting and my final scan was last Monday. I have my screening one booked for 21st March.

Im feeling a bit anxious as I've had 3 MCs, including a MMC with twins last year.

With this pregnancy I'm using progesterone pessaries twice a day and so far all my scans have been ok 🙏

My morning sickness has been horrendous but it's finally eased off and now I just feel queasy every so often.

I already have a DD who's 5 and I'm 41 years old, so I am worried quite a bit about this pregnancy, the screening results, etc.

I've already started showing very slightly, although I am a small frame which I guess could be why, and this isn't my first pregnancy. I swear I can also feel weird fluttering movements. During my last scan the sonographer said that the baby was moving about lots...

Welcome to the gang!

Pregnancy is tough full stop, but so much harder when you have been through everything that you have. I can understand why you feel so anxious. Keep talking to us here, also ask for a referral to the perinatal mental health team. I've had a referral and I feel much better knowing there is someone out there to talk to.

SoOverThisCrap · 09/03/2022 10:11

@TotoAnnihiliation thank you 😊

annlee3817 · 09/03/2022 10:23

Welcome @sooverthiscrap

Sorry to hear of your previous losses, can understand why you're anxious.

I'm 40 with a 6 year old DD, paid for private screening, but all came back fine, hope all goes well for yours.

Can someone post the FB link, think we've had a fee new joiners recently

SoOverThisCrap · 09/03/2022 10:28

Thank you @annlee3817

With my DD it was my first ever pregnancy and I just breezed through it, I didn't worry about any of the scans or tests, I just worked on the assumption that everything would be ok and it was.

When I had my first MC in 2019 it was such a shock because I thought that pregnancy would be the same. Then when I lost the twins last year that was a whole other level... my last MC (well chemical pregnancy) was last October.

SoOverThisCrap · 09/03/2022 10:30

I'm trying to remain positive about this pregnancy though, although I'm definitely cautious and previous losses (especially the MMC) have definitely taken the shine off being pregnant...

SoOverThisCrap · 09/03/2022 10:42

@Carebear99 I've seen you on a few other threads, I hope your scan went well 😊

@Belle2210 @Em85kk good luck with your scans 😊👍
