@110APiccadilly I think that's the matb form for claiming maternity leave entitlement

EverydayIsPJday · 07/03/2022 18:40

There's too many forms and things to remember whilst pregnant I swear 😅

PrettyTulip · 07/03/2022 19:03

@EverydayIsPJday haha! That's lovely that you can notice something though. I deffo cannot which just makes me worry more as even my boobs haven't changed! 😕

MatB1 is what your employer needs after 20w. Maternity Exemption is for free prescriptions and dentistry x

annlee3817 · 07/03/2022 19:36

Mine took a couple of weeks to come through, I was also told I'd get it by email and never did. They spelt my name wrong too, I asked them to correct it and they did and said they'd send a new one, never received it. You can email them and ask for your exemption certificate number, which is all you need to give NHSBSA PPC1 System Mailbox

Isonthecase · 07/03/2022 20:08

Have you tried your spam folder for the email? Mine came right away.

ShiningStarz · 07/03/2022 20:55

@nicc1000 welcome to the group. So sorry to hear of your loss.
I had GD in my last pregnancy. Diagnosed late in due to Covid and lock down.
Have you had the fasting test to diagnose this time? It seems very early. I am monitoring sugars. I'm 13 weeks. Have the glucose test at 16 weeks and then again at 27 if 16 week one is negative.

PrettyTulip · 07/03/2022 21:12

@Isonthecase yes being keeping an eye on spam too just in case

Hi. Thanks. I started testing as I had it late on in my last pregnancy and was diagnosed due to fasting levels by 5 weeks. It was enough without the test. Insulin at night since 7 weeks so crazy early and I have no experience of this! Fingers crossed you avoid it this time x

ShiningStarz · 08/03/2022 08:21

@nicc1000 oh no it's crazy how it's all happened so early in the pregnancy for you.
I am testing a few days a week and all seems fine at the minute but they said it's 98% likely I'll have it again so they are treating me as if I have it! I just need to start reducing the carbs 😩😩

Chlox16 · 08/03/2022 09:26

Hi all,

FTM so not sure about stuff like this, when is everyone starting to buy essential bits for baby? I don't want to have to purchase them all at the same time as some of it is quite expensive, so wanting to spread it out a bit Grin

Peauela · 08/03/2022 10:09

@GlitteryGreen that's so funny! I was really looking forward to seeing my baby move as so many of pregnant women said the baby was jumping all over the place but my baby was just sleeping with it's arm under it's head 😂 the chillest baby ever. But all is good and I had bloods taken for harmony scan. We also got this 3D photo which is the cutest 🥺

Peauela · 08/03/2022 10:12

@Chlox16 we will probably start with bigger purchases like a stroller or car seat after 20 week scan but will be looking around for what we want earlier than that. And in terms of clothes, I will probably not be able to resist and will start picking things up after we find out gender next week 😃

stimpyyouidiot · 08/03/2022 10:22

I've totally gone off tea. What fresh hell is this???

IzzyLeigh · 08/03/2022 11:25

@Peauela what an adorable scan! and maybe the baby sleeping on the scan is an early indication that your little one will be a calm and content baby!

@stimpyyouidiot I'm with you in feeling utterly betrayed by my body right now in this regard, except for me it's coffee instead of tea. I love coffee more than anything and was having 6 to 8 cups a day before pregnancy (I should also probably mention that I have narcolepsy so that you don't think I'm an insane person with that much daily caffeine consumption). Now I can barely stand the look or smell of the one cup I'm allowed a day. It's heartbreaking. I still force myself to drink it because I really really need it, but I rarely finish it. When I do, it takes me all day to get it down. Literally at least six hours. It's ridiculous.

@Peauela Such a sweet pic!

Mine was sleeping at first too but the sonographer prodded and poked to wake it 😂 then ensued all the jumping and rolling to get it to a position where she could measure it.

Carebear99 · 08/03/2022 11:55

I'm not buying anything at all until I'm at least 30 weeks

Peauela · 08/03/2022 12:00

@IzzyLeigh thank you! Ah hopefully!

@GlitteryGreen thank you ❤️ Haha! Mine was in a position where he could easily measure everything so there was no need to wake the baby 😂

IzzyLeigh · 08/03/2022 12:30

@Chlox16 I think we're going to hold off until midway into the second trimester at the earliest. I've been getting familiar with brands and stuff online and my husband and I have taken a trip to a baby store to get used to everything, but we haven't actually bought anything yet. Well, not true. He bought a set of little outfits because they were very very on sale and adorable for either sex.
Honestly though, the only reason I am hesitant about buying anything is because I'm still convinced that something will go wrong and then I'll be stuck looking at the purchases while grieving a loss, thus making it all the worse. If pregnancy has taught me anything, it's that I'm very superstitious. I'm just scared that buying anything (even maternity clothes!) is tempting fate and will somehow jinx me. If you don't have the same mental hang ups and want to get started so that you don't have to do it all at once, then why not? I say go for it! I would if I weren't like this haha

I'm incredibly anxious. I've got the perinatal team calling me on Thursday. My husband says I'm in denial. I really want this baby but I'm convinced something will go wrong

annlee3817 · 08/03/2022 12:52

I've bought a couple of bits, a next to me crib second hand because I saw one on FB at a good price, and then a few second hand bits for the buggy we're getting, we've still got a cot bed and my friend is giving us her car seats, but otherwise starting from scratch as got rid of everything 🤦

annlee3817 · 08/03/2022 12:53

@Carebear99 glad the perinatal team are contacting you, hope they can help, anxiety is tough and support is so important x

Chlox16 · 08/03/2022 14:35

Thanks for the replies! Smile

Yeah defo think we will wait a little while longer to order things but gonna have to get a list together of items we want to purchase as there's so much bloody choice I don't even know where to start haha!!

Carebear99 · 08/03/2022 15:11

@annlee3817 thank you. I was surprised to get the text, they will call me sometime between 9 and 5. The midwife said I wouldn't hear until 26 weeks.

Carebear99 · 08/03/2022 15:32

Also my husband doesn't understand mental health, just tells me to get on with it. He says I'm being moody and doesn't want to be around me.

annlee3817 · 08/03/2022 15:59

@Carebear99 my husband never really used to get it, he's much better now, particularly since we had our DD, as I had post natal anxiety. CBT really helped me, helped me to rationalise things and helped me to explain it to him.

When you feel ready maybe you could include him on one of the calls so that the perinatal team can help you to explain it to him and why he needs to be more understanding.
