🤣🤣 No problem.

I honestly thought I'd just have to roll the top of my leggings down a bit, didn't realise she'd ask me to pull them down so much!

GlitteryGreen · 07/03/2022 12:40

Also don't wear anything nice because I got absolutely covered in the gel due to the jumping and rolling 🙈

Belle2210 · 07/03/2022 12:41

Have a question for ladies who are already mums. Do you get any kind of standard check at scans to measure the length of your cervix? I know that a short cervix can cause issues but can't see if it's checked as standard.

First baby so I have no idea! Thanks 😁

EverydayIsPJday · 07/03/2022 13:30

Hi @belle2210 I don't think they do check as standard. My cervix is apparently at an awkward angle. I had mentioned it early on (it has been mentioned at smear tests) but nothing was ever said again until I had several stretch and sweep attempts (ouch!) but I'm not sure I'm my case it impacts the pregnancy.

I would raise it to your midwife early on if you have it noted in your medical history? I think it's always worth asking it if you are concerned about anything tbh.

annlee3817 · 07/03/2022 13:58

@Belle2210 it's not done as standard, I had mine checked due to having lletz nine months before falling pregnant and it's being checked this time round because it shortened in my last pregnancy from around 23 weeks

annlee3817 · 07/03/2022 13:59

Congratulations @nicc1000 sorry to hear about your previous loss and the gestational diabetes

Belle2210 · 07/03/2022 14:08

Thank you @annlee3817 and @EverydayIsPJday for getting back to me. I don't have any history to suggest this but just being my first pregnancy I wondered if they checked as symptoms seem pretty standard for pregancy so didn't think they'd be too obvious (I've just been researching out of curiosity after seeing another post).

Did you have anything that made you think it has shortened @annlee3817 or was it just discovered accidently?

Belle2210 · 07/03/2022 14:10

@annlee3817 ignore last question I just re read your post 🙈. App is so hard to work around when replying to people.

CLC22 · 07/03/2022 14:54

Hi everyone, my papp-a has come back low. Been advised to take aspirin on a night but has anyone been through the same thing and been ok? 😢 so worried x

Dreamer30 · 07/03/2022 15:32

Was worried about not getting my scan on Friday as it'll be before my 10th isolation day, but she said as long as I test negative on the day I can still attend. Praying it's negative by then! Waited so long on this scan lol

Flibbyjibby · 07/03/2022 16:02

Had my 12 week scan today (12+4) and all went well! My due date was changed from 15th to 12th September. Obviously this is only 3 days but as I left the sonographer said “so you are at 13 weeks today”.

So am I now 13+0 instead of 12+4? You think I’d know as this is my 2nd!!

@Belle2210 I was told it's checked if you're high risk, never had it checked in a previous pregnancy but will have in this one and the consultant got in touch about it at 16 weeks

GlitteryGreen · 07/03/2022 16:25

Hey, exact same for me! Even down to the due dates :) Had my scan today too.
PrettyTulip · 07/03/2022 18:09

Has everyone received their MatEx certificate yet? My midwife booking in appt was 3 weeks ago and she said it would come via email (& could take a week or so..) but I still haven't had it 😕? Chased it with her but she just said it can take a few weeks... I thought it was pretty much instant?

EverydayIsPJday · 07/03/2022 18:15

@PrettyTulip I was given a blank form at my 10 week booking in bloods. I was told to take it to my first midwife appointment to be signed and sent off etc...I'm not seeing her until 16 weeks!! Abit frustrated tbh as I've being paying for medication for weeks already so it's going to be a pain to claim back. Previous babies it's always been instant as you say (at 8 weeks!!)

PrettyTulip · 07/03/2022 18:17

@EverydayIsPJday oh that is frustrating! Have you already been asking for the refund form when you go pharmacy?

EverydayIsPJday · 07/03/2022 18:20

@PrettyTulip yes they have given me the forms at the pharmacy. Really wierd as the label printed on the medication bag says my name followed by "exemption code e' which is for pregnancy exemption (and has come from the doctor) but they said without the certificate I have to pay 🤨 seems daft tbh

PrettyTulip · 07/03/2022 18:21

@EverydayIsPJday that is odd! I've got my first prescriptions to collect this week (3 of them 🥺) and was hoping I'd have the form by now. Pretty frustrating.

EverydayIsPJday · 07/03/2022 18:30

Ah that is a pain @PrettyTulip are you showing yet? I honestly don't remember EVER being asked with previous pregnancies for it but I guess I may have been further along so it was fairly obvious (mahoosive, waddling and wheezing with a general 'piss off I'm pregnant' look on my face 😂) hopefully your pharmacist will be more sympathetic if the forms are coming through so much slower these days.

madeleine85 · 07/03/2022 18:31

@Belle2210 I did not get it checked with my DD, but she came very early, so they are checking it this time. Honestly, with a "normal" pregnancy, i'd rather people weren't checking up in there/potentially causing spotting etc. Given my history, i'd rather know for sure it wasn't a contributing factor with my daughter that could recur now.

@TotoAnnihiliation I think it was you that mentioned an addiction to tangfastics. I tried them at the weekend, haven't had them in years. They are so damn good. Just ordered more :) If it was you, thanks for the recommendation. Very happy with them right now!

PrettyTulip · 07/03/2022 18:31

@EverydayIsPJday no.. I've got my 12w scan tomorrow and I'm quite overweight anyway so imagine it'd be a while til it's obviously a 'bump' lol ... are you?

TotoAnnihiliation · 07/03/2022 18:37

@madeleine85 pleased to help 🤣 my appetite has suddenly reappeared. I'm making in the most of it by scoffing cake.

110APiccadilly · 07/03/2022 18:37

I thought you didn't get the MatEx form until after the 20 week scan - or am I thinking of a different form?

EverydayIsPJday · 07/03/2022 18:38

@PrettyTulip not an obvious bump no, but I've definitely gained weight on my tummy (most likely bloat) I'm overweight too so now I just look even bigger. Currently 10+4. I keep wearing baggy clothes to hide my shape but I'm not sure its really helping 🙈

Goodluck for the scan tomorrow, that's so exciting 😃 I hope it goes well

110APiccadilly · 07/03/2022 18:38

Oh, ignore me, I'm thinking of MAT1B. I don't think we have MatEx as we have free prescriptions anyway, and use MAT1B for things like dentist.
