@pregnancydiaries Interesting! I've also been hydrating more than usual, so may be having the same prob. Salted peanuts ahoy.

Roxystar23 · 28/02/2022 13:57

@Turniptracker @Octoblockisadick - At the end of September. Still not sure if it’s the right thing to do but we have pulled the trigger with a lot of suppliers so it’s definitely happening. Thankfully my aunt has bagsied taking care of the baby on the day (she volunteered - I didn’t even need to ask!).

@RoseValleyRambles - I feel the same. I have to be careful when I stand up especially as I get dizzy spells. I’ve just taken a load of laundry upstairs to sort through & was shocked at how much it took out of me - I had to sit down when I got to the top floor (I’m in a townhouse). I’ve got a week off work this week and my plan was to clean the house top to bottom - I haven’t managed to do anything today apart from tidy up but I think I’m going to have to take it one floor at a time (one floor a day maybe!?) because I think I will be hyperventilating on the floor if I try and do more!! Grin

InvisibleDragon · 28/02/2022 14:36

Congratulations on the success scan @PeeAche!!

RoseValleyRambles · 28/02/2022 15:03

@roxystar23 eek - I do not envy you those stairs. My single flight is bad enough, and I totally share your laundry pain.

I'm still trying to work out what's 'staying active' vs what's 'overdoing it', which is tricky when all the usual signals are unavailable. Got so much to do before we're ready that I'm trying to push on with as much as my body will let me, just with more 'sit downs' along the way than usual.

PeeAche · 28/02/2022 16:27

Every SINGLE time this thread (by which I mean all previous iterations of this thread) gets to around 575 posts, it vanishes from my "I'm On".

Who do I complain to? I cannot be expected to live like this.

AlbatrossSociety · 28/02/2022 18:39

@PeeAche mine does the same but at random points and stops notifying me and then I fall off the thread and read through about 8 pages of updates!! Just such a chatty lot. Or maybe just loads of babies due June??

@RoseValleyRambles I've told everyone at work now and stopped wearing my baggiest clothes and I find it really funny because people are suddenly really watching how much I do!? And I'm like guys I've been pregnant for like 5 months and am much less tired than I was in trimester 1! But I suppose the relaxin and extra weight on joints etc means I should be grateful people are looking out for me. I always feel better mentally if I've had something slightly active going on so I'm also trying to keep going as much as possible!

PeeAche · 28/02/2022 18:54

Lighthearted PeeAche is not here and anxious PeeAche really desperately needs some hand holding. I have unmistakable but mild period cramping. Exactly like my period pains usually feel - in my lower back, mostly to the right.

It happened last night too. Comes in waves, lasts an hour or so, with intense and less intense spells. No bleeding. I'm 24 weeks on Wednesday.

Please could someone reassure me? I feel very scared!

GrowBabyGrow · 28/02/2022 18:58

Definitely relate to trying to work out the balance between staying active and not overdoing it! I had a lovely two hour nap on Saturday after definitely overdoing it running around doing errands. And then proceeded to overdo it again yesterday at yoga… I think I stretched a bit too much because my bum is so sore!

At my midwife appt today I said about feeling tired and getting a bit breathless and her advice was eating little and often. I had bloods done last week to check for anaemia and it was all fine so going to try becoming a snack machine.

GrowBabyGrow · 28/02/2022 18:59

Oh @PeeAche! Sending lots of love your way, have you been able to speak to triage?

beansprout55 · 28/02/2022 19:03

@PeeAche congrats on your baby girl!

The fact that you're not bleeding means that everything probably absolutely fine.
100% go and get checked out, I'm not sure how it works in the UK. Where I am we phone up the maternity ward and tell them what's what, and then they either reassure or tell me to come in.
I was in 3 times last week with bleeds and pains. When I just have pains they usually tell me it's fine x definitely call though xx

Jammymare · 28/02/2022 19:05

@PeeAche I had exactly the same 10 days ago. Triage got me into hospital and did an internal to check for early labour, but all fine and put it down to growing pains

RoseValleyRambles · 28/02/2022 19:17

@peeache Worth checking with midwife, but I've had cramps on and off on a weekly basis at night. No bleeding now, just the abdominal cramping. Largely late at night which would be the same patterns as period cramps, and they tend to disappear on their own or with paracetamol.

Octoblockisadick · 28/02/2022 19:21

@PeeAche hope you are feeling a bit better. Its good you aren't bleeding, but I would definitely go to triage.
I really hope it's just growing pains and nothing sinister ❤

pregnancydiaries · 28/02/2022 19:55

I always have bad cramps after scans @PeeAche - just in case it's related to the scan you had yesterday. Equally think we are said to be going through a growth spurt in week 23 so sounds like it could be related to that. Like others say though please go and get it checked out, although appreciate that is a very far distance from you. Sending hugs ♥️

EarlGreywithLemon · 28/02/2022 20:26

@PeeAche I went to the maternity unit in the last pregnancy with cramps and they were able to check and reassure me.
In my trust they tell you to call triage with any issues after 20 weeks. Can you do that? They might call you in, check you over and reassure you.

TowerStork · 28/02/2022 20:32

@PeeAche Hope everything is OK with you and your baby girl. We'll all be thinking of you!

Annabell1 · 28/02/2022 20:49

@PeeAche I also hope it's just growing pain. But make sure to get it checked.
Congratulations on the baby girl. 💕

Also had my 25 weeks midwife appointment today. I got a new midwife now, really lovely lady.
Anyone else super tired? I could sleep (and eat) all day.

destiEos · 28/02/2022 21:28

@PeeAche I had cramps a week or 2 ago as well and was a bit worried, but they went away of their own accord. I'd call your midwife if you're worried though, just wanted to reassure you that it's probably nothing and it seems like a few of us have had something similar.

nikita22 · 28/02/2022 22:47

Anyone here going to be a single parent?
I left baby's dad after a 4 year relationship his true colours really come out through this pregnancy from me imagining that he would be caring and supportive he's put me though hell, and I'm in bits but I had to think about the little soul growing inside me, my partner was very aggressive and mentally abusive and just the other day escalated to throwing stuff around the house and punching a hole in the tv, I haven't told anyone any of this and I feel so mentally drained and worries about my baby because iv gone though nothing but stress this while pregnancy. How can I ever co parent with someone I don't feel safe around? Baby isn't even here yet and I already can't imagine leaving little one alone with him, if anyone had gone though anything similar all advice will be appreciated ♥️

PeeAche · 28/02/2022 23:30

I was asked to go up to emergency gynae. The cramps culminated in the most insanely painful crescendo which made my entire abdomen swell up and go rock hard. I was groaning and howling and then.... gone.

Diagnosis: Braxton Hicks. "You might have these nightly until birth"

I felt like such an idiot. I honestly believed I was dying. 🥺🤒😳😳😳

Sorry I worried you all. I was so scared. 😳😳😅

nikita22 · 28/02/2022 23:52

@PeeAche had the exact same experience couple weeks back i was terrified that I was in preterm labour or something and went into the hospital to find out it was braxton hicks also felt silly as I was surrounded by women who where really going though serious problems, but it's always better to get checked

AlbatrossSociety · 28/02/2022 23:55

@nikita22 I'm not in a similar position but you are doing amazing for having the strength to prioritise yourself and your baby in such a shit situation. Is there anyone you can get support from IRL? Anyone you feel you can talk to? You have saved yourself and baby further stress by getting out of the situation, can you find somewhere safe where your body can relax and you can look after yourself?

@PeeAche so glad it was nothing to worry about!! I actually had written out a reply and never hit send and my guess was braxton hicks!! Bit scary that it was that intense though, don't want to think about labour even one little bit.

PeeAche · 28/02/2022 23:55

@nikita22 Oh, I'm not alone! Ha ha. I had thought I was having some BH a few days ago, but what happened tonight was on another level. I honestly felt like I was being ripped in half. 😅

I'm sorry I don't have any experience of your single parenthood. You sound brave and you have my support.xxx ❤️

Lostintranslatio · 01/03/2022 05:26

@nikita22 it is a tough situation but I think you did the right thing putting your baby and yourself first. So you have any friends or family that could support you from now on?

@PeeAche delighted you got checked and everything is OK. I'm late but when I read your message I thought of BH as my friend had them as well and they were so painful for her. They went away as they came after few weeks.

Lostintranslatio · 01/03/2022 05:27

Sorry for double post but I'm totally desperate. I've been awake since 3am and I have to get up in an hour to go to work. I just want to cry 😢
