Pic didn't upload @Octoblockisadick hahaha the file trick, I like it. Honestly we even had our electrician in the other day, who is a friend to be fair, but even he thought appropriate to start prodding my stomach. Um leave my baby alone please 😂

sunflower198 · 24/02/2022 10:53
@Octoblockisadick urgh. People are the worst sometimes. If it makes you feel better, people saying ‘you don’t even look pregnant’ or ‘but your bump is so small/non existent’ is very annoying too. As if I’m not paranoid enough that something could be wrong 😑
Agree! I've had a few appts this week and each time everybody has said oh you don't even look pregnant.
I even weighed myself this morning because it was on my mind that I keep getting those comments - I weigh less than my booking in appt so I guess I'm just hiding my bump well under my "baggy" clothes!

Vimto1991 · 24/02/2022 11:12

I got told by two friends I have a small bump which made me paranoid as baby is 34th in measurement. However they are both tall with tall partners where as DH and I are both short arses. 😂 since the comments bump has grown quickly and stretch marks have appeared so you can definitley tell I’m pregnant now. I think I’ve even started waddling 🙈

pregnancydiaries · 24/02/2022 11:37

I think pregnancy waddling is very cute @Vimto1991 🐧

Ladies I can't stop eating cake, any type of cake. Today it's caramel shortbread, does that count as cake? Anyway I'm worried that all this sugar isn't going to be good for the baby as I read somewhere it can make the baby restless but it's an insatiable craving I can't fix with fruit 😂

DaimDillyDoo · 24/02/2022 11:41

@pregnancydiaries I'm the same. I've truly turned into a sugar hound this pregnancy - I can't bare to eat full 'proper' meals. I just pick and snack all day long. The only thing that gets rid of it is sugar.

DaimDillyDoo · 24/02/2022 11:42

@LM42 Your scan picture is lovely. Baby looks so snug and comfy!

Flowerbug1994 · 24/02/2022 12:06

Hi All got my 25 week app at 1 o’clock what can I expect what happened at yours ?

PeeAche · 24/02/2022 12:31

Who is stuard and why did they get deleted? 🧐

I have calmed down a lot now after my horrible scan. And decided that I will continue with all of my appointments, for the good of baby.

I've included a snap of part of my (horrible, mottled) pregnancy belly which shows the "carpet burns" I have been left with afterwards.

I'm getting myself quite worked up about the thought of giving birth in that shit show of a hospital.

In brighter news, baby now "jumps" at loud noises which is cute and makes me well up every time it happens! 🥺

PeeAche · 24/02/2022 12:31

Picture didn't upload. 🤨

RoseValleyRambles · 24/02/2022 13:16

@peeache the jumping sounds so cute! The burns are less so. That's ridiculous and I can't believe they thought it was ok.

RoseValleyRambles · 24/02/2022 13:17

Does anyone have any round ligament pain tips? Think baby has just had a growth spurt and they are agony this week.

RoseValleyRambles · 24/02/2022 13:18

@pregnancydiaries I was doing so well and then all the healthy cravings turned off last week, and the normal biscuit ones turned back on. I can offer you no space, only a hope that your willpower is stronger than mine ...

PeeAche · 24/02/2022 13:37

@RoseValleyRambles

Lie down and pray for June. 😔

AlbatrossSociety · 24/02/2022 13:43

@RoseValleyRambles I follow serenitylifedoula on instagram and she does lots of movements and stretches for pregnancy related aches and pains and I've found them really helpful. I'm sure there was a specific one on round ligament pain!

@PeeAche that looks so sore. I'm so sorry your care has been so shocking and completely understand your reluctance to engage with them. Not how a pregnant lady wants to feel about those who will be supporting her during birth! Ultimately you are intelligent, informed and know your body best and can advocate for yourself and your baby, as you've unfortunately had to demonstrate many times already.

Lostintranslatio · 24/02/2022 14:55

Hi ladies! I have to catch up with the thread. I'm back in the office this week and the new routine is being tough 😂😂 I'm going every second day but OMG, the day I go there leaves me shattered 😂
I think I can feel baby a bit stronger now, not as subtle, and that makes me happy. We are also going to see a second hand pram this evening. It looks in great condition in photos so fingers crossed we can bring it home today 🤞🤞

GrowBabyGrow · 24/02/2022 15:00

@PeeAche ouch! That looks really sore but glad that you are feeling less angry (although all those feelings were completely justified)

haha stuard was trying to get us to click on something to do with Facebook that was definitely phishing scam.

I've also been having some round ligament pain twinges. I think it's because she's having a growth spurt. Is anyone else finding they are really clumsy as well? I can't judge distances very well at the best of times but I keep on bumping into things or end up opening cupboard doors into bump because I've misjudged where bump ends.

AlbatrossSociety · 24/02/2022 15:12

@GrowBabyGrow my car park at work is tiny and I keep misjudging the amount of space I'll need to get out of the car!! I park thinking I'll be able to squeeze out, then open the door, look at the gap, look at my tummy and then have to close the door and have another go!

Annabell1 · 24/02/2022 17:49

@LM42 Such a lovely scan picture! 💕
@PeeAche Ouch. So sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience.

Gosh I'm so bad making lunch for myself these days. I'm so unmotivated. 😅
I also received my cloth nappies the other day. They are so lovely and colorful. Can't wait till June.

I'd laugh, but it'd probably send said ligaments into spasms and make me even more pathetic.

RoseValleyRambles · 24/02/2022 18:20

@annabell1 ooh! Which type have you gone for? I'm eyeing the close pop ins newborn pack.

Ladies, I think I have overbought. Got overexcited on vinted and now have a mountain of smol clothes. But they're all so cute!

Annabell1 · 24/02/2022 18:42

@RoseValleyRambles I went for Bumgenius pocket nappies. I got 22 nappies including inserts for £45. Such a good deal and they are in really good shape. I stripped and washed them the other day and they dried fairly quickly. And then I just threw the inserts in the dryer.
They have poppers and can be used from birth to potty training.
If I need more nappies, I might get a few more wraps as you can reuse them around 3 times, so a bit less washing.
The close pop ones look good as well.

PleaseSendNoodles · 25/02/2022 01:34

Im thinking of starting off with disposable and moving to cloth… I can’t help but think it might be too much at the beginning! Have any of you used cloth nappies before? How much more work is it?

Lostintranslatio · 25/02/2022 06:07

My idea is to use disposable nappies, at least at the beginning for sure. I know environmentally speaking isn't ideal but as PleaseSendNoodles said everything might be a bit overwhelming at the beginning and I do not want to add more pressure.

Habemus pram!!! We got a great deal for the bugaboo cameleon. It goes soooo smoothly. I'm delighted. Task for next week (or maybe the following after my holidays) will be to wash all the fabrics 😊

ALHCTPS · 25/02/2022 07:07

Nothing wrong with starting with disposables and then moving to reusable. You have a lot to be getting your head around, especially with your first. In fact, some suggest that you transition gradually. Even one reusable a day is one less disposable in landfill. Gives you a chance to work out what works best for you. I’m just impressed how many of you are considering it. Even four years ago it was still a bit niche and I felt I was navigating it alone, but it’s become so much more mainstream, which is fab.

As for those of you being told you look small, I have normal-sized babies but carry compact, so I get that too. But it’s no walk in the park. Just means my internal organs are already crushed to hell. (And the farting is getting up be something else…)

I also wouldn’t worry about eating cake and biscuits etc. Babies are remarkably efficient little parasites. They scoop up all the nutrients they need, leaving you utterly depleted, I swear. Your hair and skin and nails will be crap and the baby will be thriving. We are second-class citizens in our own bodies now!

pregnancydiaries · 25/02/2022 07:40

I so needed that @ALHCTPS as I woke up wondering if I'm a bad mum for wanting a Kit Kat for breakfast...😂
