@PeeAche thanks he’s having a little jump now which is always the way isn’t it I was ready to call maternity until last week as I hadn’t felt him for 12 hours and he went nuts the jumping everywhere.
@DaimDillyDoo if it makes you feel better to call your midwife call them ! Am last caring who thinks am a drama Queen anymore. I would rather call and people think am a drama Queen then sit and worry about my baby. Call them am sure they’ll be happy to give reassurance. Xxx

@RoseValleyRambles I think the grey is so you aren't forced to choose between pink and blue. I'm actually pretty surprised at how gender specific baby clothes are, thought that was all very old school! (I also like grey though Grin)

@PleaseSendNoodles mum texted and is coming over today, so all fine with family - just feeling a bit like no-one really cares at the moment. And I'm usually not one to require people to attend to me.. Glad your air is also clear too Wink

@DaimDillyDoo I ordered the full snuzpod set in rose-white on Saturday - I know he's a boy, but I don't care, it's prettier than the other colours! And it's pretty subtle pink anyway... Also ordered some stickers from Etsy, they were half price! Most of the room can't be decorated - mirrored wardrobes on one wall, bookshelves and desks take up another and the 3rd one's a door to outside - so just a one wall job.

And I also getting embarassingly out of breath on very, very short walks, although I probably am quite unfit too :D

@Flowerbug1994 - not much of a pattern here either (at 25 weeks tomorrow), night-time in bed is a safe-ish bet, but not always. But I've been told that it's still too early to be looking for a pattern.

Ugh - I have docs appointment tomorrow and was looking forward to seeing the doctor, getting a little scan-check maybe but I got a text yesterday that it was going to be a phone call instead - gutted. I called and asked if I could have in-person and they said no - doc's already decided. I mentioned I had some blood the other day and they said I should call the maternity helpline then. It was horrible, like they felt I was trying to get more than I deserved and I feel shit.

Also I like the doctor and my midwife is rubbish. I met some local mums yesterday and one goes to the same place and said she'd met my midwife and was very glad she didn't have her. Was going to just mooch along as I have the doctor as well, but a phone call is not the same :'(

@destiEos Those stickers are gorgeous!

I've booked a last minute wellbeing scan privately for this afternoon near my workplace. It was a midweek offer for £30. I'm in the office today which is an hour away from my local hospitals. If I call the midwife, she'll most likely send me for monitoring (I would imagine). By the time, I'd have driven there and been monitored I could have had the scan round the corner from work.

I'm still going to call the GP/midwife about the headaches etc tomorrow morning when I am WFH to see what those could be. I stupidly Googled it and it obviously says I have pre-eclampsia which is life threatening and my baby will be delivered early... so I swiftly stopped Googling Grin

destiEos · 21/02/2022 11:16

@DaimDillyDoo - yeah, stay away from Google! I just requested a letter from my midwife asking to confirm: single baby, due date, no complications so I can take a flight. I have literally no expectation she'll even reply...sighs

Oh, let us know how wellbeing scan goes, that sounds like a bloody great way to put your mind at ease! I'd have one too, but I'm guessing you're not in London. £30 buys very little round these parts :(

I got lots of headaches at the beginning of the first trimester - make sure drinking loads of water - dehydration is a bugger..

Vimto1991 · 21/02/2022 12:01

People with parent issues I can relate. My parents both smoke in the house but when I’m over have actually stuck to what I’ve said of please don’t smoke in front of me and they go outside. However yesterday it was clear they had been smoking a lot inside and because of the storm no windows were open to ventilate it. I was there for two and a half hours (more than I wanted tbf), and I spent from 2am to 4am having really bad anxiety I’ve 1) put baby in harms way 2) will need to tell my parents I plan on visiting less as I don’t like the idea of the smoke affecting my baby.

To make me feel better, baby has been squirming away today. I currently have NO idea how they are lying. I think they move about a lot, as sometimes I think they are transverse and sometimes I think they are breach. Today I’ve had kicks on my far right side which makes me think they’re chilling like they’re in a hammock at the moment. 🙈

DaimDillyDoo · 21/02/2022 12:06

@destiEos I'm in Nottingham, so definitely a lot cheaper than London :) I did get a mid week offer, though. I'm not expecting much from it, I just genuinely want to check that she's ok in there! Still no movements this morning.

@Vimto1991 Ah I feel your pain. My mum smokes in the house and I hate it, I'm already dreading the conversation about her smoking. My mum also goes outside when i'm there but you can still smell it on her when she comes back in, even though she washes her hands every time.

I've always hated it myself but now I feel much more strongly about it since I know my baby will be here. It's awkward because you don't want to ask someone to stop doing something in their own house but equally you want reassurance it won't happen otherwise you won't be visiting often.

Vimto1991 · 21/02/2022 12:10

@DaimDillyDoo yes this is exactly it! I feel like I can’t say don’t smoke in the house the day I visit so there will be smoke in the house lingering, but atleast open a window or something to give me fresh air. I leave and my clothes and hair still smell like smoke and like you said I think I’m getting more anxious about it than I would have before. 😔 I’ll either make my trip shorter or visit less as I can’t see them changing their ways, and I really am anxious about having a further conversation about their smoking. They are ten minute drive away and never bother coming here as my dad is disabled and my mom doesn’t drive. Just worries me when baby is born, wouldn’t feel right leaving the baby with them in a smoking environment!

If anyone were to accuse me of being an over protective mom then I think I’ve done my job right haha

pregnancydiaries · 21/02/2022 13:22

@PeeAche @nikita22 @RoseValleyRambles dip test came back clear so 🤞🏼 it was just me being a paranoid mess....

Fortunately the doctor said he is sending to the lab just in case a culture comes back positive, so hopefully, I don't end up in your situation @PeeAche - shocking!!x

EarlGreywithLemon · 21/02/2022 15:56

@DaimDillyDoo, I had an 8 day long headache that finally ended last week, accompanied by nausea. I was seeing the midwife anyway last week so she checked, and my urine was clear and blood pressure normal, so it wasn’t preeclampsia. Definitely check with your midwife, and hope the dang turns out for you.

EarlGreywithLemon · 21/02/2022 15:57

Ugh!! The same turns out for you!!

PeeAche · 21/02/2022 16:10

I'm only asking this question because I'm trying to figure out if it's pregnancy related, or just because I'm getting old... Google has been no help and mostly just returns articles about piles.

Lately I am having difficulty waiting, if I need to "take a secondary" (this is what my husband and I call a number 2, when we're pretending to be posh)

I mean, the time between feeling like I might need to go soon and feeling like I'm about to do it in my trousers if I don't go now is reduced to about 5 minutes. 😅

I used to be very good at holding it. Once, when I was 21, I held it for the entirety of Glastonbury festival. Something I'm still weirdly proud of. And yes, I stayed all 5 days.

And even recently, if we went to The Caravan with our in-laws for a couple of nights, I would hold out until we get home.

But this has all changed for me now. Trains are departing the station on their own schedule.

Has anyone else found this to be their experience too? Or am I just entering middle age arse first?

Thanks for your time. 💩

PleaseSendNoodles · 21/02/2022 16:14

@DaimDillyDoo I hope the scan does the trick. Definitely £30 we’ll spent! And I really feel for you and @Vimto1991 on the smoking issue. So difficult to do what you think is best for your baby without causing upset!

@destiEos oh that’s good. Nobody likes an argument hanging over. Sorry about the phone appointment. My booking in at 9 weeks was on the phone and I felt really cheated somehow!

PleaseSendNoodles · 21/02/2022 16:19

Hahaha PeeAche sorry to laugh at your discomfort but it’s the way you tell it.

I have not had your issue, I’m still the opposite and actually kind of jealous. The only time I had a very urgent situation where I ordered my husband to leave our hotel room ‘RIGHT NOW!’ Was last week when I apparently took far too many laxatives 😩🤣

Sorry for the TMI, everyone but I feel like we have passed the point of polite conversation 💁🏼‍♀️

GrowBabyGrow · 21/02/2022 16:30

I haven't had your issue @PeeAche (also still more often in the not able to go territory but regular apricot handfuls are helping) BUT I have found recently that I can go from sort of needing a wee to needing to go RIGHT NOW if baby moves to use my bladder as a cushion. This was super fun when I was leaving the children's centre after having my bloods done and my husband was parked a 5 minute walk away.

Logically I think what you've got must be pregnancy related - everything down there is impacted by the pelvic floor after all!

Prema112 · 21/02/2022 16:30

@pregnancydiaries @PeeAche I've had quite a few UTI's across 2 of my pregnancies and I don't think the dip tests have ever been positive, it's always when they get sent to the lab- don't know why they bother dipping?!

@PeeAche I am also struggling to get up! I can't believe I've got another 3 months of getting bigger I feel huge already!

fpeg · 21/02/2022 17:00

Hello all, just catching up after a busy weekend and then feeling rubbish this morning and testing positive for COVID 😕

Just been watching the announcement that isolation comes to an end on Thursday and testing from 1st April 😬 it actually makes me feel a bit better that I have COVID now as it'll mean I have the best protection as I head into my final trimester! (Let's face it no one is going to self isolate from now on!)

For those with the family issues, glad you're getting them resolved 💚

@PeeAche so I flip between being constipated and exactly as you describe... things become very urgent! I used to work with someone who said that she had been that way ever since she had children so I think it is a pregnancy related thing (I know it tends to happen to me when she sits right down in the bottom of my pelvis and seems to enjoy rubbing herself painfully against my spine, so I think they can just irritate the top of the rectal canal), I got the impression that her issues were due to a traumatic birth so I'm hoping that once bubba is out it goes back to normal 🤞

PleaseSendNoodles · 21/02/2022 17:07

Oh no, @fpeg! I hope you don’t feel too rough with it. Flowers

fpeg · 21/02/2022 17:15

Thank you @PleaseSendNoodles I've taken the day off as just feel wiped out and have a bad cough. Still have smell and taste which is good. Phoned midwife just to check and they said just keep hydrated, take paracetamol if needed and don't worry. If any reduced movements I'm still allowed to attend hospital so not to worry in the slightest about that, they'll just isolate me whilst I'm there. No need for blood thinners either. All in all very reassuring and although I feel like 💩 she is having a very active day so I'm not worried and just sleeping and catching up on TV. It could definitely be a lot worse!

DaimDillyDoo · 21/02/2022 17:17

@EarlGreywithLemon thanks for the reassurance, nice to hear it's not all doom and gloom!!

Here's the best £30 I've ever spent 😭💓

@DaimDillyDoo 😍😍😍

I can't wait to see pictures when everyone starts to give birth! It's really not long now folks 💚💚💚

pregnancydiaries · 21/02/2022 17:27

Eek, @Prema112 I really do have a sneaking suspicion this is going to come back the case because although dipped clear I'll be astounded if it isn't positive from the lab. All good to treat with antibiotics and no complications?xx

Prema112 · 21/02/2022 17:43

@fpeg Oh no, so sorry to hear you've got the Vid. Hope it's mild for you. You're right, having it now means you'll be well protected for third trimester!

@pregnancydiaries Yes! Antibiotics will sort you right out. My dr actually put me on them before the lab result and my stamp time pointed to uti

@PeeAche me!!!!! I spent majority of the pregnancy seriously constipated from all the anti sickness but now I'm off that it's gone crazy the other way. I think it's hormone related 🙄

beansprout55 · 21/02/2022 18:52

Does anyone get stomach aches (muscular) that are there for a few days at time? Moving around seems to hurt my belly. Also have horrendous PGP but don't think it's linked.

I was spotting yesterday, with tiny clots, so we ran up to maternity and they used the doppler and checked out my cervix. Dr couldn't see any blood and babies heart beat was fine, so I was sent on my way. Ive have had two spotting episodes since. I don't know whether to do anything about it? I know what they'll say if I phone. But now I'm reading into every twinge going - hence the question, do any of you girls have tender stomachs?
They also gave me a pessary to treat thrush (just in case) ?!

😢
