Urgh @destiEos I’m sorry you had a falling out with yours, too. I think everything just feels magnified when you’re pregnant.

Thanks for the kind words @Annabell1 💕

Turns out my mum has a lot of other stuff going on mental health wise and took it out on me. We’ve cleared the air now so that’s something. Haven’t changed their flights though 🥴🤣

And @Octoblockisadick thank you, too! As far as the promotion goes, I wouldn’t tell them. Only because if you don’t get it you’ll always wonder if they were discriminating. As you say, they can’t legally but how do you prove it?! Don’t feel guilty, look out for yourself!

Sorry to hear about all of your aches and pains! Lightning crotch does NOT sound pleasant. Pregnancy… so glamorous! Hope you’re all having a nice weekend ☀️

RoseValleyRambles · 20/02/2022 17:16

Important question. Why are all maternity clothes gray???

TowerStork · 20/02/2022 18:01

@Octoblockisadick I guess it depends on the nature of the work and whether you'd be leaving a team in the lurch and creating bad feeling but if it simply means your promotion position wouldn't kick in for six months, I don't see why your pregnancy should be mentioned at all. Does your current boss or HR know you're pregnant?

Octoblockisadick · 20/02/2022 18:45

@RubyRoss yeah everyone knows I'm pregnant. Even the team that the promotion would be with know I'm pregnant and they've all asked me to go for the job. Literally the only person who doesn't know is the woman who would be doing the interview if I got one! She is based in a different building, but the job would be based in the same building I'm in now just a different section of it. I've worked with the team before covering a maternity leave on a secondment, and as soon as they knew someone in the team was leaving I had about 5 texts telling me and asking if I would apply.
Tbh its pretty obvious now that I'm pregnant, so unless the interview was via teams there would be no hiding it anyway.

@RoseValleyRambles I've managed to get some nice burgundy tops, but yeah most other things are grey and black it has to be said.

@PleaseSendNoodles glad to hear you've sorted things out a bit, must be a relief!

PeeAche · 20/02/2022 19:32

@RubyRoss

Because grey is the hue of the "slob". It is the colour of "I feel huge today". It is the shade that says "ya should have stayed home, love". It is the chroma of morning sickness. The tonal hum of "you aren't a sexual being anymore".
It is the Pallette of the Preggers, and if you don't like it, that's not their problem. TopShop didn't make you pregnant, after all.

Grey is their way of telling us: "Move along fatty, we have thin people to dress."

Mic drop. 🎤

PeeAche · 20/02/2022 19:33

Soz, that was actually for @RoseValleyRambles 😘

PeeAche · 20/02/2022 19:35

When I get out of a chair now, it is belly first. And yesterday I toppled forwards while crouching down by the freezer.

Has anyone else's stomach suddenly started expanding quite quickly?

RoseValleyRambles · 20/02/2022 19:47

@peeache Loving it! But I still have aspirations to bump-bedecked chicness. It's a tough life.

Lostintranslatio · 20/02/2022 19:48

@PeeAche 😂😂😂😂😂

DaimDillyDoo · 20/02/2022 20:19

Anyone else feel really out of breathe? I sound so unhealthy but im genuinely not Blush

DaimDillyDoo · 20/02/2022 20:21

@destiEos aww adorable!

We ordered the nursery furniture yesterday, it's a Tutti Bambini set from Boots and had about £200 knocked off so thought I will take the plunge.

I'm going for Beatrix Potter theme for her nursery... anyone else started to think about theirs yet?

PeeAche · 20/02/2022 20:23

@DaimDillyDoo I'm going for a bit of a jungle theme. All of the stuff arrived this week. I was hoping to start it on the weekend but I just found out we have guests coming, so it'll be a guest room for the night. 😒

pregnancydiaries · 20/02/2022 20:36

Evening ladies ♥️ not had time to catch up on this weekends feed yet but looking for some advice/mainly reassurance.

I'm 99% sure I have a UTI and have been fighting against it for a good few days but now my kidneys hurt. Will get to the GP first thing for antibiotics. BUT I'm worried by stupidly ignoring it I've caused damage to baby? Please someone reassure me 😂♥️xx

pregnancydiaries · 20/02/2022 20:44

I should note im panicking it's gone into my kidneys because google is telling its twice as likely to go into pre term labour with kidney infections...

PeeAche · 20/02/2022 20:45

Hey @pregnancydiaries I was hospitalised with a kidney infection about 10 weeks ago. It was a side effect of my HG. I made a full and complete recovery. Baby is unharmed.xxx

pregnancydiaries · 20/02/2022 21:30

Thanks @PeeAche, the reassurance I needed. I remember this now, you had some real troubles with getting it diagnosed didn't you? I'll get straight to the doctors in the morning.♥️xx

RoseValleyRambles · 20/02/2022 21:31

I have just discovered I'm two seasons behind on Call the Midwife... The joy!

RoseValleyRambles · 20/02/2022 21:33

@pregnancydiaries I'm sure a good round of antibiotics will sort it out. It's horrid feeling this poorly on the weekend though. Never happens midweek, does it?

pregnancydiaries · 20/02/2022 21:57

@RoseValleyRambles it's my own fault, I've felt it all week but convinced myself I was imagining it because I didn't want to burden the doctors again this pregnancy...and now look where that's got me!!! Get me antibiotics asap x

nikita22 · 20/02/2022 23:02

@pregnancydiaries hope it all clears up and you feel better soon, im the same feeling bad for calling the doctors and don't want to burden them but at the end of the day we need to remember that's what they are here for ☺️

imhereforthecake · 21/02/2022 04:37

Anyone else suffering with insomnia?
Struggled at the start but then seemed to get better. Now 23 weeks and it's back with vengeance.
Every. Single. Night.
I'm just so tired 😴

fiowen45 · 21/02/2022 07:18

@PeeAche yes I feel huge now. I stopped riding horses 2 weeks ago and since then I just seem to of exploded 🤣

Flowerbug1994 · 21/02/2022 08:43

Morning All just a quick one about movements.
Am 24+3 anyone else the around the same and started kick counting yet ?
I’ve had kicks this morning from 6.30 to 7.30 in bed and when I’ve got up nothing. when he first started kicking always kicked when i was working but never in bed. I feel like I’ve got no established pattern and am constantly worrying now am getting further on.
Anyone else feeling the same ??

PeeAche · 21/02/2022 09:59

@pregnancydiaries I had a helluva time getting anyone to take it seriously. My first 2 rounds of antibiotics didn't work and the GP didn't believe me, because the infection only showed up in a lab culture test and not on any dipsticks.
Eventually I presented to A&E, bent double, weeping, begging for help. Triage did a dipstick, said I must be mistaken and sent me to gynae where they gave me lots of leaflets on antenatal depression and talked to me about how this was all in my mind. 😅 Sent me home in the same condition I arrived in... but rang me 24 hours later to say they'd sent my urine to the lab as a precaution and I had a really nasty infection. 😂 No shit, Sherlock.

@imhereforthecake I wake up every morning at 4.45 and then I'm up. I don't know if this counts?

@Flowerbug1994 don't start counting yet. The movements are probably more regular than you realise but you're just less likely to feel them when you're busy doing something, IYSWIM. It's not that they aren't consistent, they're just not consistently hard enough (because baby is small) to accurately count them. That said, I am satisfied if I feel them move a few times a day. So whilst I'm not monitoring it to a schedule, I would ring my midwife if I hadn't felt them move for a whole day.xxx

DaimDillyDoo · 21/02/2022 10:04

@Flowerbug1994 I'm the same, she has been very active usually coming alive at about 9pm but she's definitely been less active the past couple of days. Starting to worry slightly!

Also had a really stressful weekend, combined with a persistent headache since Thursday and spells of dizziness this morning. I think I might give my midwife a call. I hope she doesn't think i'm a drama queen.
