@RoseValleyRambles @Prema112 - I'm sure it'll be fine, put a panty liner in to get a better idea and nothing since. I'll see how tomorrow goes. Thanks both, going to sip on my no-alcohol cider (I'm already full of DH's turkey chilli) and finish watching A Bridge Too Far 🙏

Anyone getting rib pain ? Mine is on right side just wear the bra band ends on front and sometimes on the back rib aswell. Spoke to gp and she said if it goes away with lieing down (which it does) its not gall bladder related but its spooked me now. Just sneezed and it ached so much. Had to lie down for a few minutes. Anyone else getting this??

MrsNT · 19/02/2022 20:44

Annabell1 · 19/02/2022 21:20

@Starbeach, @destiEos & @Octoblockisadick Thanks a lot. :)
Good idea, I will ask to see if my employer would be willing to split the pay.
@destiEos I hope it's nothing, but I would probably go and get it checked as well.
@PleaseSendNoodles I'm sorry to hear that your parents are being so difficult. Sounds like they are not trying to put themselves in your shoes. I hope they will start to reflect a bit and realise that it's not all about them. X

I feel like I have a pinched nerve in my lower back. Angry

@RubyRoss I think my hospital has about 8 rooms with birth pools so hopefully one will be free when I need it.

@BunBun221 I had geographic tongue as a child and occasionally get flare ups now, it's awful. Chlorhexidine mouthwash usually works for me, Google says its safe in pregnancy too. Also avoiding strong flavours or spicy foods calms it down quicker. You basically get loads of new taste buds I think so your tongue gets really sensitive to different flavours. Hope it eases soon!!

@PleaseSendNoodles oh that sounds like an awful phone call, I hope you're OK ❤.

@destiEos I wouldn't be too worried, but definitely mention it to your midwife.

I applied for the promotion at work. My only concern is, it's under a slightly different team and I don't know if that manager knows I'm pregnant. If I got the job the start date would be pretty much as my maternity leave is due to start. I feel bad not mentioning the pregnancy, but at the same time don't want to risk my chances of getting the job. I know officially they can't not offer it based on pregnancy, but there's a risk of prejudice isn't there. What do you guys think?

@MrsNT also getting rib pain for weeks now, when I'm lying down and curled up. If I stretch my legs out it goes away, I figure everything's just squashed up and uncomfy 😕 Mine's mostly at the front/side. The sleep pillow helps too..
MrsNT · 19/02/2022 21:38

@destieos mine starts either when sitting or standing longer. Lieing down on back makes it go away in a few minutes .

mrkb · 19/02/2022 21:59

@MrsNT @destiEos I also have rib pain! It's mostly at the front and can be left or right side - I get mine when lying down. It kind of feels like something is inflated under my rib cage and is stretching the area (if that makes any sense). It goes away if I swap sides but is very uncomfortable! I haven't done anything about it yet - was just going to wait and see if it goes away... that sounds ridiculous now that I've typed it out!

MrsNT · 19/02/2022 22:29

@MRkb getting some relief by reading here that its somewhat common otherwise I was getting scared.

Gp said to me to not sit for too long and do some stretching exercises. Not sure which ones since she didnt specify.

MrsNT · 19/02/2022 22:37

@destieos @mrkb i just did some searching on youtube and found this. Will try doing this. Reading through the videos comments seems like this should help a bit

RoseValleyRambles · 19/02/2022 23:06

Hands up on the rib pain front, too. I think they're just being stretched by all that baby... Certainly feels like it! Thankfully eases up when I sleep, but any tips or stretching suggestions gratefully received.

MrsNT · 19/02/2022 23:13

@rosevalleyrambles check thr video ive shared above. Im going to try these exercises for rib pain

nikita22 · 19/02/2022 23:17

Hello thank you for the tag arriving late took me hours to read through the chat learned a lot of useful things from you chatty ladies ♥️
Hope you and your little ones are all doing great it's crazy we all have around 3 months left 🎉

nikita22 · 19/02/2022 23:22

Anyone else getting shooting pain in their vagina? I'm 23 weeks and Iv been having it for the past two days now along with my braxton hicks getting rather worried 🙄

BunBun221 · 19/02/2022 23:26

@Octoblockisadick thanks! Its good to know someone else has experienced it (regardless of if its pregnancy related!) - I couldn't work out how common it is as I just kept reading that 'it can occur in pregnancy due to hormonal changes' but anyone i mentioned it to thought I'd just made up a random name!

The pharmacist has given me some difflim which has really helped to numb it! But its definitely calmed down a lot more today! Switched to chlorohexidine mouthwash too! Thanks for the tip!

Rolledthedice · 20/02/2022 01:14

@nikita22 yes I had a shooting vagina ache last night! I had it before bed and then it woke me up at 8am but thankfully went away after a wee. I thought it might be to do with baby hanging out down South and putting pressure on pelvic floor. I need to figure out where the heck my pelvic floor is and get practicing ASAP (might try the EPI-NO). I’m also 23 weeks (nearly 24). If you’re feeling worried, definitely call the midwives for reassurance, hopefully it’s just normal pelvic pressure from baby. x

nikita22 · 20/02/2022 01:26

@Rolledthedice bit of relief that I'm not the only one most possibly pelvic pressure then went away now, i have the worse midwife she never answers text or calls only get to talk to her on appointments and next one is still 3 weeks away so stressful 🤦🏼‍♀️

Rolledthedice · 20/02/2022 01:34

@nikita22 sorry to hear you’re not having much luck with your midwife. Does your area have a general midwife number you can call? I think my trust has a generic one where you can speak to whichever midwife is available (it’s 24/7). Gosh, the things we put up with for our little ones. :)

PeeAche · 20/02/2022 08:51

Hey @nikita22 I have shooting vag pains. Mostly at night. I think it's affectionately known as lightning crotch and it's just another part of being pregnant, I'm afraid.
Makes me cuss like a sailor.

EarlGreywithLemon · 20/02/2022 09:43

@MrsNT I had horrible rib pain in my first pregnancy- I think the rib cage literally gets wider at this stage. Mine has clearly stayed that way now Grin
@nikita22 yes to shooting pains too - again first pregnancy. I’m sure they’ll start soon this time too.

destiEos · 20/02/2022 12:04

Unfortunately I get rib pain when lying down with knees curled up, either on the sofa watching TV or in bed trying to get to sleep - so neither time when I want to do stretching. To be fair I've become immensely lazy since getting pregnant anyway, so doing no exercise at all 😬 Have promised myself I'm going to start swimming again as soon after birth as possible 🤞🏼 - also a good excuse to take an hour to myself every day and leave bub with DH 😉 (he doesn't know this yet!)

No sitting vag pains yet, but glad to hear there is more to look forward to 😂

@Octoblockisadick as regards the promotion, I wouldn't tell them you're pregnant personally - as long as the job isn't urgent fill for a specific project. It's tricky though, this far along they'll know that you knew you were pregnant when you applied, so they might be a bit judgy. Get the promotion and then discuss with them maybe?

@Rolledthedice @nikita22 also feel like baby's swung around or something, pressure pushing downwards last day or so, hopefully that's what caused a little blood yesterday. I've seen nothing on a liner overnight though or today, so will just hold off till Tuesday when I see the doctor. Who is lovely 💕 as opposed to my midwife who is rubbish, ignores texts, has to be reminded that we have a call scheduled, and generally comes across as totally useless and more than a bit off.

Anyway, on a positive note I have a local mums-to-be meeting today via Facebook. Am excited and nervous, new people! 😮.

InvisibleDragon · 20/02/2022 12:58

@Rolledthedice @nikita22 @EarlGreywithLemon add me to the shooting vagina pains group - I get a weird pain down the inside of my thigh from my groin too sometimes. How nice.

Another weird one. Does anyone else get a strange tingling/itching sensation on your outer thigh, right at the top? I googled it and it's called "neuralgia parasthetica" I think. But trying to sleep whilst feeling like I'm being stung by jellyfish in a weirdly specific patch of skin is ... Less than fun.

More light-hearted - any thoughts on baby dungarees? I keep being seduced into clicking on things like this:
www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/navy-dino-embroidered-baby-dungarees-h1519.html?refSrc=82356&nosto=productpage-nosto-2-fallback-nosto-1

But would it be much too warm in June? Is it cute looking but really impractical? Worn once and never again? All the baby stuff I've got so far has been very basic!

destiEos · 20/02/2022 13:23

@InvisibleDragon mum mum bought this one for us from M&S, which is adorable 💕 Whenever I'm looking at clothes for the little one I keep wondering how warm it will actually be in June..cos you know, England 😂

GrowBabyGrow · 20/02/2022 14:31

@InvisibleDragon those are so cute!! I'm a sucker for baby dungas. They would probably be fine in June, you could just have a short vest under them if hot. Or get them in a bigger size so they can wear them next spring/ summer?

I'm really hoping we have a cool but sunny Summer this year as our room gets so hot when it is warm outside.

InvisibleDragon · 20/02/2022 15:40

@destiEos - Peter Rabbit!! So sweet!

@GrowBabyGrow - this is why I keep seeing these ones! Bought some on sale with a Christmas reindeer Grin
