@Beth262 that’s so reassuring to hear! Thank you for sharing!

I don’t suppose anyone else’s trust is using the online system ‘badger notes’? Does anyone know if the form for prescriptions and dentists is on there or if it’s meant to be physical still? Think midwife forgot to give it to me but don’t want to call up and look silly!

Got my date for my 12 week scan! 22nd Feb. Feels like ages away but looking forward to working towards that date and checking in on the baby again!

koalalala · 09/02/2022 18:32

Anyone else been constantly eating in early pregnancy? I was a bit mortified when they weighed me today! I’ve put on atleast 3kg but probably more like 4! Oops!

madeleine85 · 09/02/2022 18:48

Lovely news that everyone's scans are going so well!!

@squatternutbosh12 lol I do love Colin Collins :)

@KCat82 the Bobs ran in succession. I think multiple Bobs at the same time would feel too lazy for names, even for me

@netflixandnochill I was going to tell them around 13 weeks when I have had the detailed scan and the NIPT back. My company is tiny (7 of us) and used to do in person Monday meetings which have been cancelled since Omicron. I really wanted to do it in person as it is such a small company, so I hope we have an in person meeting soon with my boss so I can.

@koalalala I lost weight last first trimester and this time I have definitely gained around 4lbs. I was very sick with HG last time, and this one I just feel sick/tired, so i'm snacking my way through this misery lol. I was getting better last week at getting back on a treadmill, but this week was a return to feeling sick and tired. My sore boobs also came back. It is so strange how it varies week to week. Forced a workout this morning so hoping that helps kick start a return to fitness, but it will probably just force a nap :)

netflixandnochill · 09/02/2022 18:53

@squatternutbosh12 Oh my gosh, how strange. I love the name Eric so much (I don’t know why because it’s had quite mixed responses when people have asked).

I think I’ve already learned not to voice my potential name choices. People are so opinionated!!

netflixandnochill · 09/02/2022 18:54

Even though I’ve done it twice here already… 😂

Isonthecase · 09/02/2022 19:04

@netflixandnochill I like marina too, reminds me of Marina and the diamonds. What about Paloma if you're going musical?

Isonthecase · 09/02/2022 19:10

@koalalala we have badger notes and they email the matb1 form. Subject for mine was 'your NHS maternity exemption certificate'

koalalala · 09/02/2022 19:13

@Isonthecase ah thanks. I’ll keen an eye out then!

Isonthecase · 09/02/2022 19:22

@koalalala it came on the day of my booking appointment so maybe check your junk folder?

Littlebutload · 09/02/2022 19:26

About the names, am I mad to think Heather is a nice name? Maybe the hormones are getting to me. I also like Hayley but know someone with that name so don't want to use it, it would be a bit weird.

ToCaden · 09/02/2022 19:58

@littlebutload Heather is a lovely name. It would also work great for both a little child and a adult. I suppose only you (and partner if you have one) can say whether it's THE name. Naming a child is such an individual thing.

@netflixandnochill we seem a nice friendly bunch so far so hopefully we're not too opinionated. I have a fondness for unusual names I'm sure some would get opinionated about so about the only time I won't like a name is when it's something like Butt or Vagina or something impossible (not just difficult) to pronounce without a detailed coaching session. The name ABCDE would fit that level of difficulty for me.

Anything else has it's merits even if it might not be a name I'd choose myself. Heather for example is wonderful and classic. Reminds me of exploring through woods as a child. Eric is a strong solid name.

Each name has their positives (much like the people they will go to) and really at the end of the day the only opinions that really matter are the parents and child.

Unsure1010 · 09/02/2022 20:42

Loving seeing all the positive results and the names chat!!! I’ve got no ideas at all. I really need to start making lists.

Symptom wise, the nausea finally seems to have abated, following a horrific bout of norovirus at the weekend, but my word, the fatigue!!! A full days work seems somehow beyond me at the moment. Thank heavens for wfh!!!

12 week scan a week today, followed by a company wide face to face away day on 3rd March, so I think that’s when I’ll let work know. Should have all the screening results back by then and want to make sure we’ve got enough time to get proper cover in place.

Good luck to everyone with scans tomorrow and waiting on results.

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 09/02/2022 22:30

@koalalala I have BadgerNotes, the prescription/dental exemption form isn't on there. It was emailed to me separately but my midwife nearly forgot to do it so worth checking with yours if they remembered! X

squatternutbosh12 · 09/02/2022 23:25

@Littlebutload Heather is a lovely name. One of my best friends is a Heather and I always thought it very pretty :)

Isonthecase · 09/02/2022 23:34

Really tricky on telling work. I have a complicated issue ongoing that means I'd like to tell hr as late as possible but equally well would like to give my manager and my team some notice as it'll take time to get cover! Basically thinking middle of march to early april if I can but I already have a bit of a bump and a fair few in person things before then 😅 might unofficially mention it and officially tell them later.

koalalala · 10/02/2022 06:29

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc @Isonthecase I’ve found it in my junk emails! Thanks as I wouldn’t have checked!

KCat82 · 10/02/2022 06:37

Hi everyone. Had my 12 week scan yesterday and am left feeling quite disheartened, despite being told all was ok. Just wondering if anyone's had a similar experience.

We took out appt letter which showed a 3pm appt to be told we were in the system as being 4pm. No great problem. We ended up waiting 2.5 hours for our scan with a full bladder to then be quizzed by the sonographer as to if we had just turned up without booking because nobody expected us and it was quite clear that she'd drawn the short straw and had to deal with us before she could go home. We were in and out of scan in under 10 mins being told baby is too small (11+1) for her to do anything and to come back in 10 days. I don't understand. My dates from 2 private scans put me at 12 weeks exactly. I get that accuracy is difficult with early scans but I know when we DTD and the last time was 30th November so I don't see how 11+1 is even possible. She did say there was nothing to worry about, but funnily enough I'm just not reassured.

BunnieMilk · 10/02/2022 07:22

@KCat82 sorry to hear your scan didn't go as well as planned, sounds to me that it was very rushed. Under 10 minutes isn't really enough time to get good measurements of baby etc.. hopefully in those 10 days next time you'll get a better idea of your dates and stuff and plus- you get to see little baby again!

I have my first proper scan in 2 hours. I'm excited but nervous as I'm having twins and one was super small last time I saw them at 10 weeks x

BunnieMilk · 10/02/2022 07:25

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc I also have Badger Notes, do you have issues logging onto your account? My screen just endlessly loads after I put my password in but doesn't go anywhere from there. My friend also has it and says it shows her old pregnancy notes with her daughter but doesn't load her new pregnancy at all

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 10/02/2022 07:30

@BunnieMilk yes this does happen to me too, it's so annoying! Usually if I wait and go back to it later then it will work but that doesn't help if you need info at that moment.

SantiagoSister · 10/02/2022 07:41

@KCat82 sorry to hear how you were treated at your first scan yesterday, it’s meant to be a lovely experience and it sounds like it’s had a bit of a dampener put on it for you 😔 hopefully when you go back you’ll get a different sonographer who will take some time with you. Please try not to worry about the difference in dates, I know exactly when I ovulated as I was tracking and yet I measured 6 days ahead at my 12 week scan. I’ve looked into it and there’s a margin of error in measurements of around 5 days at the 12 week mark, which means we are both still in the right place where we are meant to be, it may just be the position of baby that affects the accuracy of the measurement, or that baby has little growth spurts at different times compared to the average 😊

ToCaden · 10/02/2022 08:58

@KCat82 I'm an ivf pregnancy so know exactly when conception and implantation happened. Was still told I was four days ahead of those dates at my 12 week scan. So they are definitely not always one hundred percent accurate.

theotherfossilsister · 10/02/2022 12:45

How was it @BunnieMilk ?

We have a private scan today as NHS one is ages off although today is twelve weeks. Really worried about mmc. I'm an IVF pregnancy and it's scary.

Today's my day off as I'm working the weekend and really wanted to do lots of stuff but just on the sofa exhausted wondering if I have energy for a shower. I have low iron and the pills make me nauseous so trying spatone instead. I so want to keep this precious baby.

BunnieMilk · 10/02/2022 13:21

Twin a & b! I'm 11+6 so only 1 day behind what I thought I was. It was such an amazing experience and the nurses were so lovely and nice to me. I had my usual bloods and pee samples done which were fine. I had a talk to a nurse about how I want to deliver, she was really leaning towards me trying a natural birth but with my previous birth and the complications (huge baby, got stuck, pushing for 2 hours ended up damaging pelvic floor) I really want to have a section this time. But we can talk about that as the pregnancy progresses . So far I'm just super happy 😄 trying to take a guess on genders now x

ToCaden · 10/02/2022 14:05

@bunniemilk so happy it went well. You've got plenty of time to discuss birth plans.

Still no energy burst here. I'm sat here with three hours of work left just wanting to curl up under my duvet. I'm actually feeling a bit teary and no idea if it's the exhaustion or hormones (haven't had much in the way of mood changes aside from the initial onslaught of ivf meds to ready for egg collection).

Happy to see so many dating scans happening. Is it starting to feel real for people yet?
