Thanks @SantiagoSister it really is no fun! And I'm sure it'll only get worse as I go on. Oh the joys! 😆

@Beth262 I tried a chiropractor out of sheer desperation this week. I’m not overweight, but I’m short so I feel most increases. I started this one 10lbs up from last time, gained 20lbs last time and felt a bit of sciatica by the end... and it’s been coming and going now since week 8 this time, but is getting much worse. If anyone has any tips please lmk. Hoping the chiropractor can do something over time but not sure he will be able to. At this point it hurts most days to walk and I’m only 16 weeks-17 weeks.

Unknown6 · 19/03/2022 16:40

@SantiagoSister the one I mentioned earlier is also a memory foam one. It has a big hole in the middle to stop you getting sweaty.

I'm definitely looking pregnant now, someone offered to get off a bench today so I could dit down. Lol

Unknown6 · 19/03/2022 16:41

Sit*

SantiagoSister · 19/03/2022 17:21

@Unknown6 looks like memory foam could be the winner then! I like the sound of those proper pillows for between the knees like you mentioned. Bonus for the hole in the middle to stop us getting sweaty, I can imagine that’ll be needed as we get closer to summer. Oh that’s so really lovely that a stranger has noticed you’re pregnant now, you must be looking nice and bumpy 🥰 I don’t think anyone else has noticed my bump yet apart from family, unless they’re just being polite and haven’t said!

ToCaden · 19/03/2022 18:44

@madeleine85 wow that does not sound fun, especially since you're only sixteen weeks. I really hope you and others suffering find something that gives them relief soon.

Hehe. I think I'm still slightly in the camp of 'that person looks pregnant maybe, but what if I say something and they're just fat.'

Nineteen weeks today. We're getting close to the halfway point folks. Think some of our early August babies have already crossed that line.

I want to do DIY, but seem to get energy at the most inappropriate times (ie the morning of work days). Then I reach the weekend when I have time and plans, and my body goes whelp time for another nap...

LiMc1 · 19/03/2022 21:13

Hi everyone! A little update, had a private scan today 19 weeks to surprise my partner on his birthday 😊.

We are having a little girl! Very excited!! She is just as active as she was at 12 weeks.

I have been feeling movements/bubbles /odd feelings this week and now know where she is laying, so I know it is her ❤.

Happy to see lots of updates from you all, hope everyone is okay! Xx

SantiagoSister · 19/03/2022 23:48

😂 I’m in the same camp still too @ToCaden. So pleased to be at the halfway point, just want this little bubs here and healthy. The last 20 weeks have gone quickly I feel, despite feeling like time stopped moving while waiting for scans!

Congratulations on your little girl @LiMc1, lovely news, so nice to see them wriggling on the screen isn’t it. Good you have started to feel her movements too! I have an anterior placenta and struggling to feel anything at the moment at 20 weeks 😔

LiMc1 · 20/03/2022 07:02

@santiagoSister thank you! It will come! My friend didn't feel anything until 24 weeks but then her little boy didn't stop letting her know he was in there! He is the most relaxed baby now at 1 month old.
You never know maybe they'll be chilled for you and I might end up with a very hyperactive one 😂

SantiagoSister · 20/03/2022 08:54

@LiMc1 thank you, that’s reassuring to know! Hopefully I can start to feel him more in the next few weeks in that case 🤞🏼 I can feel some faint little kicks sometimes when I lay on my side in bed, but not when I’m sat up. As you say, hopefully it’ll come 😊

ToCaden · 20/03/2022 16:17

My 20 week scan has snuck up on me. It's tomorrow!! Suddenly I'm really nervous. I wish I was having frequent definite movements so I could feel more relaxed about the results.

Trying not to think about it and just focusing on the tub of Ben and jerrys I have stashed in the freezer for afterwards.

surprised12 · 20/03/2022 17:28

Anyone started to get some worrying pains??
I've had cramps and aches, but for the past few hours I've had a stabbing constant pain near my belly button, and it's not shifting.

I've tried sitting, walking around and standing - so not sure what it could be. Feels like a bad stitch.

I don't want to be one of those people who worry about every pain :(

squatternutbosh12 · 20/03/2022 17:51

I’ve had a few stabby type pains around the belly button and also right side, nothing really bad though or nothing to make me gasp etc.. if it’s bad and concerning you I’d maybe phone midwife? If it’s not terrible could you be constipated? Maybe try a warm drink or peppermint tea sometimes that can sooth bowel spasms?

I’m having a pretty rubbish time with eating and it’s starting to get me down Sad can only have really minuscule portions otherwise it all just makes it’s way back up my gullet and either sits there uncomfortably like a lump or gets ejected (soz gross!) - usually eventually am sick anyway and then feel better but ugh I miss food and I’m so bloody hungry!

Thanks for the reply - deffo not constipated, had the opposite experience this morning (sorry tmi) I think I'll see if it's still there tomorrow. I was lying half on my side and half on my stomach this morning and I'm SURE I felt him roll over - so that's reassuring me a little.

Ahhh rubbish that your off food! My appetite is all over the place at the minute - I'm not being sick but feel your pain about being able to eat normal meals!!

I've forgot what it feels like not to be pregnant 😂

ToCaden · 20/03/2022 19:00

@surprised12 gas maybe? Sounds similar to the gas pains I get, but mine tend to on right side at bottom of ribs. Do you have tums or rennies to take to see if things settle? You could shoot the midwife a text if you're worried.

@squatternutbosh12 do you get a burning feeling when it sticks in your throat? When it comes back up do you get acid coming up too? Could be acid reflux. I've been playing around with various things to help mine. Tums seem to trump rennies for me. And when it's bad I've got meds that do offer some more heavy duty relief.

Sorry you guys aren't feeling good. Hope you feel better soon.

BunnieMilk · 20/03/2022 19:12

Mummas I need a little bit help with girl names, I'm having twins. I loved the name River, for either boy or girl. But what would twin 2 be called? My mind is lost (baby brain?) 😂

ToCaden · 20/03/2022 19:26

@bunniemilk River is such a lovely name. I suppose for the second one think about why you like River. Are you mad into firefly?, like nature names, or just like the sound of it?

Also would you want to have both starting with R, or would you want them to sound distinct instead of similar?

BunnieMilk · 20/03/2022 19:47

@ToCaden yeah, I like quite nature sounding names. I'm not too fussed about the other girl having a name beginning with 'R' also.

BunnieMilk · 20/03/2022 19:48

@ToCaden my partner suggested Ivy, it's definitely one to add to the list

ToCaden · 20/03/2022 19:59

@bunniemilk Ivy is nice. Lots of possibilities: Hazel, Autumn, Willow, Lily, Coral, Flora, Holly, Wren, Ember, Rain, Sage, Storm, Aspen, Robin.

Chunks1376 · 20/03/2022 20:23

I’ve had this exact problem since 7 weeks pregnant. My Resting HB has been raised above 100 and can get up to 170+ just doing the washing / walking up the stairs. They ruled out PE but have no clue what’s causing it. It’s certainly v worrying!

Chunks1376 · 20/03/2022 20:25
@roughmeasures, just to add, it's normal for hb to be a bit higher than normal when pregnant as its beating 2 lots of blood, but it shouldn't be very very high.
Sorry meant to reply to you in my above post! Did they give you any conclusions?

squatternutbosh12 · 20/03/2022 21:30

@ToCaden no I don’t get burning- I’m on omeprazole so that takes care of the acid pretty well, it just seems whatever’s in my stomach just comes up and sits there like an unwelcome intruder! 😂 it’s quite a pain in the bum.. I think it’s probably just upwards pressure from uterus growing combined with sphincter laxity from hormones. Such a glamorous time! I haven’t tried tums - maybe I’ll give them a go. Thanks 😊

@BunnieMilk another nature name for girls I quite like is Meadow? And will also second ToCaden’s suggestion of Willow- my inlaws have a neighbour with a baby girl Willow and always thought that was cute
