@Unknown6 glad you got checked out. Hope all comes back OK. Smile

I feel as big as a house today. All stretched out and my back is killing me. My head is also weird. All floaty and keep forgetting what I'm doing. Working right now, but just want to go back to bed.

squatternutbosh12 · 15/03/2022 11:00

Sending lots of positive thoughts to all of us worried about scans. I’m also in this boat, and trying to not get overcome by worries. I think it’s because I can’t really feel him yet. And I suppose also constantly fretting about the impact of my own health problems on baby’s growth/development etc. But can’t do much about that so trying to stay positive!

I’ve actually been signed off work for a bit now as just wasn’t really coping with managing pre existing condition plus sickness/fatigue plus work, and something had to give. My sickness has got worse again over past couple of weeks- so annoying as I felt it was starting to improve. Felt kind of guilty about it but my GP was so lovely, and actually work have been understanding too.

@Unknown6 that sounds scary, I hope they’re looking after you! Definitely in the best place to make sure everything is ok though. Hope you’ve got some excellent quality reading material (trashy magazines) and nourishing food (maltesers/haribo) x

SantiagoSister · 15/03/2022 11:30

That must’ve been scary for you @Unknown6, hope your tests come back all ok and I’m glad that baby is doing ok.

SantiagoSister · 15/03/2022 11:38

@RP90 Glad your 16 week appointment went well, it’s nice to attend in person as it does make things seem more real doesn’t it.

@ToCaden I have days like that too, get a huge brain fog and can’t really concentrate on anything. I’m still feeling so tired every evening, it never really lifted for me after the first trimester, so wonder if it’s linked to that. Also have the back aches some days too, makes me wonder how we’ll feel in weeks to come when everything gets bigger 🤔 hope you manage to rest up soon and feel a bit better.

@squatternutbosh12 sorry to hear you’re worrying about your scan too. Seems a lot of us are 😔 trying to stay positive is good if you can manage it, but I know that’s hard when the worries creep in. That’s good you’ve been signed off work for a bit, hope you get the rest you need, it definitely sounded like something had to give.

So far trimester two is not going great had a tooth infection and now have covid. Bit worried about covid I haven't had my booster and my midwife basically told me if I get covid I will end up in hospital 🤒

ToCaden · 15/03/2022 15:38

@gem2811 eek. Was she trying to scare you into getting your booster? Or do you have underlying health conditions that had her worried?

Covid and pregnancy doesn't automatically mean you'll get it really bad, especially as two jabs gives you pretty good protection.

Isonthecase · 15/03/2022 15:41

@Unknown6 glad you're in the right place, hope it's all sorted soon.

@gem2811 is it pre existing conditions? I've just had covid and it wasn't fun but my midwife wasn't worried at all.

Has anyone had Braxton Hicks yet? Think I've started having them but only 17 weeks!!

CoalCraft · 15/03/2022 15:41

@Gem2811 Aww, sorry about the covid, how are you feeling do far?

For a lot of people it's really mild, even in pregnancy, and in the vast majority of cases that become serious there was no vaccination at all, so most likely you'll just feel a bit rough for a few days, then be fine!

Probably worth getting the booster though once you're better!

CoalCraft · 15/03/2022 15:46

@Isonthecase No BH here yet, which I'm glad about - they turned into a bit of a nightmare in my last pregnancy so I'm scared of getting them!

Most of the time they are completely normal though! Just keep an eye on how many you have in a row; if it's only a few at a time there's probably nothing to worry about, especially if you can identify a specific trigger that sets them off like orgasm.

Unknown6 · 15/03/2022 15:47

They are letting me out, they thought I had a risk of blood clots on my lungs so had to do xrays but thankfully tests all came back normal!

CoalCraft · 15/03/2022 15:49

@Unknown6 Relieved you've had the all-clear

Unknown6 · 15/03/2022 15:50

@CoalCraft, got a bit scary there for a few hours. So relieved.

Gem2811 · 15/03/2022 16:08

@CoalCraft @ToCaden @isonthecase thank you for your well wishes. No pre existing conditions think it was just to scare me into my booster. I've put my booster off due to having a mc after my first vaccine

Isonthecase · 15/03/2022 16:10

@CoalCraft thank you! I'm pretty relaxed as had them for months last pregnancy and he was still late but good point about being vaguely sensible about monitoring 🙈

ToCaden · 15/03/2022 16:13

@Unknown6 glad you got checked out and are OK. Now go relax and recover from the ordeal. Smile

ToCaden · 15/03/2022 16:26

@gem2811 that's good that she was just trying to scare you (although a bit heavy handed of her). Chances are you'll be fine.

I do sympathise with putting off the vaccine. It has been a hard decision for a lot of us with it being so new. Still a little worried about the sudden amping up of baby activity after my jab a couple weeks ago. I think baby is OK, but will be relieved to know for sure at the 20 week scan next week. Could even be caused by something completely different. Who knows.

Statistically unvaccinated women are dying and it's best to be as protected as possible, but when you're making that decision for yourself it feels different.

Gem2811 · 15/03/2022 16:40

@ToCaden it is such a difficult decision sometimes feel you can't do right for doing wrong. I'm also looking forward to hopefully some comfort in my 20 week scan in a couple of weeks!

Unknown6 · 15/03/2022 16:41

@ToCaden, not too much relaxation time as I'm back tomorrow for my 20 week scan! But get it all done in 1 week ;)

Celyn22 · 15/03/2022 16:49

@Gem2811 hey Gem, I had covid recently and I’m 15+6 and the baby is fine. I’m not vaccinated so don’t worry if you can. It’s unlikely you’ll have any issues from it. I’m sure it was the new milder variant as it wasn’t as bad as the first time I had it (pre pregnancy). This time I was extra tired for 2 days, and had a snotty nose! That was it :)

I’ve heard of lots of pregnant women (vaccinated and not vaccinated) who continue with healthy pregnancies and deliver healthy babes.

I hope you feel better soon regardless as it’s not fun being ill! Hibiscus tea, vitamin C and zinc are all powerful remedies to the effects of covid. All the best x

Gem2811 · 15/03/2022 16:59

@Celyn22 thank you that has made me feel better! I've managed to avoid it up until this point and it feels just like a bad cold just now so fingers crossed it passes soon!

roughmeasures · 15/03/2022 18:47

@Unknown6

I was admitted to hospital last night. My heart rate got to high levels...it's been higher than normal for a while but I was told it was normal in pregnancy. I'm still here under observation, and have to have checks this morning. If something feels off ladies check. I had a fit bit on so could see it was higher than it should be.
Get well soon - keep us updated.

Out of interest, what did yours rise to?

I caught covid over the weekend and mine rose for 3 days but today (after a full day in bed) it's lowered again (still slightly above normal)

X

mamaof2girls · 15/03/2022 18:50

Got my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow hopefully she will listen in for the heartbeat and hear something. Anyone else hate this time off pregnancy. I love it more when I can feel them move etc more reassuring sometimes I don't feel pregnant at this stage apart from seeing a belly 😂😂 x

roughmeasures · 15/03/2022 18:50

Vaccinated women (and men) are also dying from Covid.

Unknown6 · 16/03/2022 07:21

@roughmeasures, it wasn't constantly high but I was getting big spikes after doing gentle walks like I had done extreme exercise which was far from it.
I'm home now, everything was checked and I'm given the all clear. I'm going to have a take thing for 24 hours soon just to check the rates.

Unknown6 · 16/03/2022 07:26

@roughmeasures, just to add, it's normal for hb to be a bit higher than normal when pregnant as its beating 2 lots of blood, but it shouldn't be very very high.
