Another Welsh one over here!

@Beth262 Welcome back, glad you're all settled in your new home - how exciting!

I find I can either feel little one loads on a day or not at all, presumable depending on where they are and how they're sitting. Yesterday was a very kick-heavy day!

17+1

Beth262 · 13/03/2022 20:13

Gosh this is turning into a Welsh thread! Where are you @CoalCraft? And thank you. Glad to have our own space again.

I'm pretty much the same with movement. Seems to be all or nothing. Reassurance one day, panicking the next!

18+6 today 🙂

@Beth262 In Newport now, but my heart is still in the Ogmore valleys where I was raised ♥️

And yes, I'm looking forward to the later weeks where you can feel them more reliably!

Beth262 · 13/03/2022 20:48

@CoalCraft Ogmore is lovely! I have so many childhood memories of summers spent on the river being rowed up and down by my dad in our dingy 🙂

@Beth262 just a bit! My dog came from Wales, so not a million miles away!

The back ache today is unbelievable. 19 weeks today. Been looking at prams and cots tonight. Haven't brought a single thing yet.

Beth262 · 13/03/2022 21:26

@PopGoesBang It's all about the hip pain for me. Really struggling to get comfortable with it when trying to sleep.

PopGoesBang · 13/03/2022 21:43

@Beth262 getting comfortable and staying comfortable is the biggest challenge! I get actively annoyed at myself when I've moved in my sleep and am no longer comfy.

koalalala · 14/03/2022 05:10

@madeleine85 & @Unknown6 thanks for replying.
It’s reassuring to hear it’s not just me! I’ll keep waiting!
I think the honest truth is im anxious to know if the baby is okay. I really want a reassurance scan but can’t justify the cost at the moment.
I totally remember being like this with #1 so I think I know really that it’s me & not a problem.
I find pregnancy so emotionally draining! I really struggle to be my usual rational self!

Seeing everyone finding out genders has made me question my decision not to find out this time around…. I’m trying to stay focused and not be tempted! Anyone else wanting a surprise at the birth for gender?

Unknown6 · 14/03/2022 07:24

@madeleine85, I mentioned above that I'm also worried about 20 week scan, I have mine on Wednesday though and then I have another scan on the Thursday with foetal medicine....my 2nd visit to them, but for different reasons.
I'm hoping this week goes well. When is your next scan?

SantiagoSister · 14/03/2022 07:59

I’m joining the worried-for-the-20-week-scan club too 😔 my scan is on Thursday at foetal medicine due to serious issues found in my last pregnancy at my 20 week scan. I can honestly say I feel absolute dread at the thought of going, I’ve cried every day for the last few days just thinking about it. I’m so scared they will tell me there’s something wrong with my baby again and we won’t get to bring him home. I hate that I have zero control over the outcome of this pregnancy, if I was able to influence things I would do whatever it took to make sure this baby is healthy and safe, but having to surrender to Mother Nature and just wait and see is so difficult.

surprised12 · 14/03/2022 08:05

Morning everyone!!
Had such a busy weekend so only just managing to post.

Had my 16 week midwife appointment on Friday, all went well and heard the baby's heartbeat 💓

We also had our gender scan on Saturday and found out we are having a little boy! Thorough checks of his anatomy and all looks perfect. Strange how much they can see from a scan!

Hope everyone had a good weekend- another week closer to our babies 👶🏼

So sorry you feel so anxious- try to tell yourself that this pregnancy is different and try to distract yourself as much as possible. Praying all goes well for you x
Unknown6 · 14/03/2022 08:15

@SantiagoSister, (my due date buddy) looks like we have a foetal medicine scan on the same day. Do you have a 20 week scan too?
At least its not too much longer for us both to wait now. I'm sending you a big virtual hug. Who knows maybe we are part of the same nhs trust!

SantiagoSister · 14/03/2022 09:09

Congratulations @surprised12, that’s lovely! So pleased everything is looking well ❤️ Thank you, I must try and remind myself that this time things could and hopefully will be different. Thank you for the good luck wishes 🤞🏼

@Unknown6 Hi Due Date buddy! How strange our scans are on the same day too. I don’t get an extra 20 week scan this time, I am just having my 20 week scan with the consultants at the FMU. I’ll be London based for the FMU visits, that would be even spookier if we were going to the same FMU as well 🙈 thanks for the virtual hug, I appreciate it. I want this week to hurry up and also slow down at the same time 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Unsure1010 · 14/03/2022 09:49

@koalalala I’m still firmly in the not finding out camp!! I didn’t with my first abs just found the surprise when she was born was lovely (we were convinced she was a boy!!). This time round I can’t decide either way… but definitely want to keep the surprise.

So lovely hearing everyone’s news and seeing pics. I really do hope the anxiety is reduced this week @SantiagoSister and @Unknown6. Sending lots of virtual hugs to you both.

I’m another one who hasn’t felt anything yet (16+4) but I’m also on the larger side, which I know plays a part. Can’t wait to start feeling those kicks, although I remember it bringing a whole new level of stress with my first when she suddenly wouldn’t move for a while!!! Pregnancy has to be the most stressful thing on earth, and all ability to be rational goes out the window.

I'm 16 + 4 today too and no movement yet, hopefully soon!

We were team green with my first, but I've been over ruled this time and my little boy wants to know if it's a brother or sister and he's not giving up 😂 x

Isonthecase · 14/03/2022 14:23

@Shelly1812 mine has said he wants a brother, no sisters allowed 🤣

Same 🙈, told him I can't do to order 😂 x

ToCaden · 14/03/2022 18:59

@surprised12 congrats on your little boy!!!

I agree with those of you who are worried about 20 week scan. Every single test and scan so far has been perfect, but this is an ivf baby after a couple years of trying and I'm feeling the familiar 'something must be wrong' feeling now my scan is only a week away (next Monday).

I'm not quite as convinced as I was at the 12 week scan, but it's hard to be positive. Trying not to think about it and instead think of nice things to do after the scan.

For me I think part of the issue is I started feeling possible movements early. Then shortly after my covid jab a couple weeks back baby went mad for a few days. It was three days of comparatively strong kicks and even some rolling over (first movements I couldn't think might be gas). Then nada for ages (which I'm hoping was just a return to previous activity or baby having moved).

Today I'm back to fairly strong maybe movements, which could be baby or something else. Pregnancy is a roller-coaster of emotions.

Looking forward to the definite movement stage (though I know I'll regret saying that later when baby is kicking my insides).

BunnieMilk · 15/03/2022 09:12

Congrats! @surprised12 ☺️

Unknown6 · 15/03/2022 10:06

I was admitted to hospital last night. My heart rate got to high levels...it's been higher than normal for a while but I was told it was normal in pregnancy. I'm still here under observation, and have to have checks this morning.
If something feels off ladies check. I had a fit bit on so could see it was higher than it should be.

Beth262 · 15/03/2022 10:11

@unknown6 You must be so worried. Hopefully they will have answers for you later today x

Unknown6 · 15/03/2022 10:20

@Beth262, the babies OK. They are just doing some more checks on me to make sure I'm healthy. I think all Is going to be OK,but need to wait for my next set of tests which will hopefully be good news.

RP90 · 15/03/2022 10:26

@Unknown6 glad you went with your gut and got checked out. Hopefully your tests come back clear soon and you can try relax at home.

It's so nice to see people's updates, my 20week scan isn't till the 8th of April and it feels so long away! Had my 16 week appointment today which was fine. Glad it was in person, made things a little more real Smile

Beth262 · 15/03/2022 10:28

@unknown6 That's good to hear. Everything crossed that the results of the next set of tests are positive 🤞
