Hey everybody! I had my 20 week scan yesterday (I am actually 19 weeks) and found out I am having a healthy boy! Is anybody else finding out the sex? We should add the sexes to our list :) the only bad thing is my partner and I are going to find it much harder to agree on a boy name rather than a girl name...

ToCaden · 09/03/2022 13:12

@squigsC I'm finding out the sex. Need to wait a few weeks to do so though. My 20 week appointment is on the 21st. Really hope baby cooperates and I'll get to know what I'm having.

They'll get dressed in unisex clothes whatever and it won't change my choice of toys or how I decorate the room, but looking forward to deciding on names.

Cakecakecheese · 09/03/2022 13:18

I had a private scan on Sunday. They're going to fill a balloon for us that we'll pop on Saturday with family so we'll find out the sex then.

Shelly1812 · 09/03/2022 13:50

Lovely to hear all the updates, one else 2.0 week scan not until April? X

beckybloomwood11 · 09/03/2022 14:24

@Shelly1812 mine isn't! I'm the 12th April, when is yours?

ToCaden · 09/03/2022 14:24

@cakecakecheese that sounds exciting! Are you going to video the reveal?

We are the exactly the same - knowing the sex doesn't change our plans for clothes, toys etc but it's nice to 'know' something else about your child.

The 11th! Seems so far away! What's your due date? X

squatternutbosh12 · 09/03/2022 15:37

@mamaof2girls @SquigsC @netflixandnochill I’ve started getting PGP type pain in the last few days - it seemed to start out of nowhere one morning and has got really bad really quickly! I’m struggling to turn in bed, get into or out bed/a chair, get trousers/socks on and get into/out of the shower and it’s so painful! 😱 Thankfully walking is not too bad (yet?!) - although it is sore it’s not like the awful pain I get with turning etc. Urgh!! Have found some exercises to do from various nhs patient leaflets online and will get in touch with a physio if it doesn’t improve soon. Could’ve done without this tbh

@SquigsC I’m also in the boy club! 😀 mine will prob also be dressed in unisex clothing as wherever I look for clothes I tend to think the unisex stuff is so cute! For the nursery we’re thinking possibly a woodland/animals type theme! 🤗

netflixandnochill · 09/03/2022 16:02

@squatternutbosh12 sorry you’re in pain. I’m hopefully getting referred for physio at my midwife appointment tomorrow. It’s crazy but being on one leg (like putting on shoes or socks) is the worst for me. And I too get uncomfortable in the night. I’m finding baths are helping a bit and I’ve got a padded seat for my office chair too.

@Shelly1812 My 20 week scan is on the 4th April. Feels ages away so went for a reassurance scan last Friday. We’re having a girl and it was so nice to see her again. I’d see her every week if I could!

Cakecakecheese · 09/03/2022 16:17

@ToCaden yeah I'll get someone to video it for my friends who'll want to see it.

squatternutbosh12 · 09/03/2022 16:25

@netflixandnochill I hope the midwife can get you referred nice and quick! A hot shower helps for me too, might try a hot water bottle over my nether regions as well! Hope yours settles soon x

Exciting to hear about all the scan dates book in 😊 My 20 week one is 28th March, can’t wait!

ToCaden · 09/03/2022 16:35

@cakecakecheese sounds like a great memory to keep. Make sure you back it up.

Gem2811 · 09/03/2022 16:37

@Cakecakecheese hope you have more luck than me we had a confetti cannon which my husband set off whilst no one was looking/filming including me! 😂

ToCaden · 09/03/2022 16:38

Just back from 16 week appointment. As others have said it's very quick. All my bloods came back great which was a nice feeling.

beckybloomwood11 · 09/03/2022 16:59

@Shelly1812 I know, it feels like ages. I'm not due until the 29th, so end of August. You?

@Cakecakecheese that sounds so exciting! You'll need to update us when you know what you're having!

Ahh congratulations- how exciting!! We have a 16 week scan booked this Saturday to see if we can find out - I'm so impatient!!
Cakecakecheese · 09/03/2022 17:25

@Gem2811 A couple of my friends have had confetti cannon issues so we've gone for a balloon although I do hate balloons being popped!

madeleine85 · 09/03/2022 17:40

@Cakecakecheese you should have done cake to go with your name :). Honestly I am all here for the sugar, so i'd do that purely for myself lol.

Congratulations to everyone with scan results/gender results! I am back to feeling like pregnancy is taking forever. Today I calculated 15/40 to make myself feel like were going somewhere... very very slowly!

I just had mine too and at the end I was so confused why I actually needed to go, I'm being followed by a consultant now and she had already told me everything in detail two days prior. I thought it was going to be more informative! I'm due august 20th
BunnieMilk · 10/03/2022 09:50

Hi mummas. I have my gender reveal this weekend for the twins, very exciting! I've noticed my tiredness has gone now, which I'm very happy about as I was exhausted. Only problem lately is each day im getting headaches which come and are hard to get gone, i brought this up with my midwife who said to take paracetamol but I since it's a daily thing , going on for 3 weeks now, it's starting to worry me a little. Anyone else feel the same? I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow

squatternutbosh12 · 10/03/2022 10:13

@BunnieMilk how exciting about your reveal for your twins, you’ll have to let us know what you’re having!
I’m getting a lot of headaches too, I think it is quite common at any stage of pregnancy tbh, but low iron can also cause headaches so worth getting that checked. And you do need a little more in the way of fluids when growing a human (or two humans!) so make sure you’re drinking up!

ToCaden · 10/03/2022 10:38

@bunnieMilk yes to headaches. Have not had any for couple days (I'm 17 weeks 5 days) , but they are not pleasant when they happen. Feels like my whole head is being compressed. You have my sympathy.

Excited for your gender reveal. Let us know the results please.

It's funny. All the gender reveals and talk of names makes them feel more like future people, and now I'm thinking how it's likely at least some of our bubbas will grow up and meet each other and not realise their parents chatted to each other about them on an Internet forum.

I don't know it just feels like a cool and surreal thought.

BunnieMilk · 10/03/2022 10:42

@ToCaden @squatternutbosh12 thank you, I will update once I find out 😊
And yes it's crazy about the headaches ! Like you said @ToCaden it does feel like my head is being compressed! Yesterday it was the left side but usually it's the back of my head. It pounds and almost feels 'tender' when I make any sharp movements. I've made sure to drink lots of water now, huge bottles full!
I also think about that, if we ever met one another in the future at play groups etc with our babies and had no idea who we all were haha crazy . Well I'm from UK, Newcastle.
It's great to see everyone's story's each time I come onto the thread and see how we're all progressing along

CoalCraft · 10/03/2022 11:03

Exciting to hear about people finding out the gender already! We'll be waiting for the anomaly scan so still 21 days a little while I'm totally not counting to go for me.

I'm in a weird spot of kinda' wanting a boy (there's a boy's name I've wanted to use since childhood, yes I know that's a dumb reason) and being so certain that it's a girl that I even call the baby "she" and talk about DD's sister and say it's fine if DD doesn't wear a (pink, flowery) piece of clothing from relative because it'll do for the next one Confused

I'm feeling a little more positive/ hopeful about things now. It was a shock to hear no consultant would see me till 32 weeks when I gave birth at 33 last time, but my community midwife has promised to try and get that brought forward and, to be honest, there isn't really a lot anyone can do for me until/unless I start getting concerning symptoms anyway, so it's just a case of wait and see and be prepared to go to triage demanding attention of necessary.

Oh, how I hope those symptoms just stay away and I have a normal pregnancy!!

16+5 today with a very wriggly little one, even if I can only really feel them at night so far.
