@theotherfossilsister I know it's little reassurance but even at 0.1 everything was still okay in the end for me and I really struggled to find any story with such a low level. So touchwood all will work out xx

DontKnowWhatIsWhatTheyJustHug · 27/02/2022 12:23

Thanks for sharing @Shelly1812. We went for NIPT and waiting results and your story is really reassuring.

theotherfossilsister · 27/02/2022 13:43

Thank you @Tiredmum31111

Feeling very weepy and scared today but can see my bump in the mirror (invisible with clothes though.) I keep wondering how I could be excited about a baby with a disability then feeling like a horrible person for thinking like this.

CoalCraft · 27/02/2022 16:14

@BunnieMilk @Tiredmum31111 I've also felt like I've had those "tightenings" recently where your tummy goes completely hard. I'm not certain though - could have been my imagination as I'm a bit scared of them after they turned into a bit of a nightmare in my last pregnancy. Most of the time though they are completely normal xx

madeleine85 · 27/02/2022 16:32

@theotherfossilsister I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through. I really hope it is ok. we did the nipt as my husband was worried about our age and the impact that a disabled child could have on our relationship with our existing child, largely due to a colleague who is in that situation. Another mum did say her sister cleared all the tests, came back low risk but had a downs baby, and he’s the most lovely wonderful child and the older ones are so protective and loving. It’s changed their family dynamic for the better. I just wanted to mention that as it reminded me that no test is 100% accurate (either direction) and there are silver linings. Whatever happens, it’s your body and your decision to make but I’m hoping it is an unnecessary worry and it’s all ok x

Isonthecase · 27/02/2022 16:37

Is it only .4ish they call back on for Papp a? Mine isn't much higher but I'm assuming is just over the tipping point although I've had a letter about a consultant appointment come through that may or may not be related.

Tiredmum31111 · 27/02/2022 17:28

@theotherfossilsister be kind to yourself it's such a hard thing to go through with the million "what we do if.." thoughts going through your mind. None of which you know the answer too and the chances are that you won't have to confront these difficult thoughts.
I remember taking my scan picture off the fridge because I just wanted to disconnect from "the baby" and felt awful but we're only human, don't feel awful xx

Unknown6 · 27/02/2022 18:03

All, are you planning to do nct classes? If so how early should you book?

Cakecakecheese · 27/02/2022 19:26

@Unknown6 we're doing them and I booked them as there weren't many spaces left at the one I wanted to do.

Unknown6 · 27/02/2022 19:50

@Cakecakecheese, I tried to book tonight and there is nothing...have emailed them to see if the are going to put more on.

BunnieMilk · 27/02/2022 21:06

@Tiredmum31111 @CoalCraft yeah the tightenings are happening again, it's usually when I'm in bed on a night time. I'm expecting two babies so I'm not sure if it's them moving around together 😂 it doesn't hurt or anything like yous said. It's just more of a tight round bump rather than the usually jiggly belly (in my case lol)

theotherfossilsister · 28/02/2022 11:40

Thank you @Tiredmum31111

I just feel I can't get excited at all so I know what you mean about the scan picture. Really stressed today. On annual leave so going to sit in a coffee shop with a novel xx

SantiagoSister · 28/02/2022 12:40

Thinking of you today @theotherfossilsister, really hoping you get the news you are hoping for ❤️

squatternutbosh12 · 28/02/2022 14:54

@theotherfossilsister keeping everything crossed your results go well today, sorry it’s been such a stressful wait - I hope the coffee shop and book helped pass the time. Flowers

theotherfossilsister · 28/02/2022 14:57

Thank you so much everyone. It's been a horrible week having to think about things we never thought we would but today the test came back with a one in ten thousand chance of all trisomies. I feel so relieved but of course I've picked up another stick to beat myself which is worrying my anxiety hurt the baby. Lots of people have said reassuring things though. Fourteen weeks for days today xx

squatternutbosh12 · 28/02/2022 14:57

My nausea seems to have mostly subsided but has turned into this feeling of food being stuck/piling up in my gullet if I eat anything more than half of a meal 😩 relieved by vomiting which seems to happen about an hour after evening meal but it’s bloody unpleasant! I’m guessing it’s baby growing and shifting everything else upwards.. anyone else getting this? I’m still not really feeling this ‘second trimester glow’!!

squatternutbosh12 · 28/02/2022 15:00

@theotherfossilsister that is such wonderful news!! So happy for you! Absolutely do not worry about the anxiety of it having hurt your baby- it will not have done at all. Do something nice to celebrate today and look forward to enjoying the rest of pregnant! Hurray x

SantiagoSister · 28/02/2022 15:11

@theotherfossilsister that is such fantastic news! I’m so pleased for you. Sorry it’s been such a worrying time for you this last week or so, I really hope these results help you to start to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Please do not worry about your anxiety having hurt the baby, I too have wondered this and have been told that if that was the case, then no babies would be born in times of war or famine etc. Babies are born all across the world in much worse situations and more than our anxiety could’ve put our babies through. I hope you have something nice to treat yourself to later today as a mini celebration 😊

Mufflette · 28/02/2022 16:05

@theotherfossilsister so pleased to hear your news, time to relax a bit and enjoy the rest of your day off! Please don't worry about the anxiety, everyone who has been in that position will have felt it.

Tiredmum31111 · 28/02/2022 16:14

@theotherfossilsister that's amazing news. Look at that scan photo, rub that tummy and smile.
The worry and stress you've gone through will have done nothing to the baby I know it's easier said that done but let yourself feel excitement and happiness again xx

CoalCraft · 28/02/2022 16:33

Wonderful news @theotherfossilsister, what a relief for you!

Unsure1010 · 28/02/2022 16:43

Still no results here, and it's been almost 2 weeks. Can't get though to my midwife team, and really don't want to bug the delivery suite, as I know I'm more than likely worrying about nothing, as 'no news is good news', it's just the fact they rung me having got confused about ethnicity etc, now I'm worried that they've not got it right still and or couldn't do the tests needed. Honestly, why does pregnancy turn you into a paranoid stress-head????

Hope everyone else worried about results or waiting on further tests are doing ok.

madeleine85 · 28/02/2022 18:26

@theotherfossilsister that is fantastic news, and must be a huge relief! If stress/worrying had really adverse effects on pregnancy, there wouldn't be any babies in my opinion :). Relax and try to enjoy your pregnancy a wee bit now x

@Unsure1010 hope your results come back soon. Do you have a checkup coming where you can ask?

theotherfossilsister · 28/02/2022 19:27

Thank you so much all

@Unsure1010 I'd call them if I were you. It's pretty bad they got your ethnicity wrong

Isonthecase · 28/02/2022 19:40

@theotherfossilsister great news! So pleased that's a worry off 🙂

@Unsure1010 no shame in being a bit of a pain, the people who get the best outcomes in maternity care are the people who advocate best for themselves, not the people who worry about being a nuisance. Unfortunately.
