My results were on the badger notes app but no notification of anything, they've just been there the last week without me realising 🤦
Anyone else absolutely exhausted at the moment? I'm 14 weeks and KNACKERED, started feeling really sick again too 😭

Glago2017 · 25/02/2022 11:45

I've got badger notes but my blood results just say not published 💁‍♀️
They did say take no news as good news and if there was something they would phone me within 10 days. Its now been 16 days so taking it everything is hopefully fine. X

mumforfirsttime · 25/02/2022 11:48

Hi all. I am currently 14 weeks + 5 days. Since during the night last night I have had a dull ache in the left hand side of the bottom of my abdomen. Sometimes turns to a sharp pain and then back to a dull ache but has not gone away all morning. Hoping this is just stretching, has anyone else experienced this? I have had a dull ache before but always gone away relatively quickly. Thanks

Unknown6 · 25/02/2022 12:42

@Gem2811, my allergies are horrific, I think that is what's causing my nose to be so bad. Im waking up coughing or sneezing for weeks :(

SantiagoSister · 25/02/2022 14:28

@Isonthecase I’m with you on the tiredness 🙋🏽‍♀️ Don’t feel too bad during the day, but the evenings I’m definitely struggling to keep my eyes open 😴

@mumforfirsttime I had this in my last pregnancy, it worried me but midwife said it’s probably round ligament pain. Usually went off if I rested for a bit. Hopefully it’s just all the stretching!

PopGoesBang · 25/02/2022 14:58

Just back from my 16 week appointment with the midwife and got to hear the heartbeat 💗. All good and they are pleased with everything so that's all good. Reassuring to hear the heartbeat, despite the hypermesis it's nice to know things are progressing.
Next bit of waiting is to feel the proper movements, and be convinced that's what it is rather than a 'was that?'

On one hand it feels like time is flying on the other it still feels like such early days.

ToCaden · 25/02/2022 18:11

@mumforfirsttime my lower abdomen has had dull aches with occasional sharp pain for last week or so. Think it's just a growth spurt as uterus has been moving out from under pelvic bone so things need to stretch and arrange themselves. My midwife says to only worry if there's fresh blood or if the pain is severe enough to force you to double over.

Mufflette · 25/02/2022 18:23

@PopGoesBang what a lovely way to finish the week!

DontKnowWhatIsWhatTheyJustHug · 25/02/2022 19:22

Hi @Embi! I'm waiting test results for Down's syndrome too. How are you coping? I'm feeling so anxious.

I got an appointment through today for a colposcopy in two weeks time. Has anyone else had one during pregnancy? It's to take a closer look at a small tear on my cervix.

notsofertilemyrtle · 25/02/2022 20:53

Mama's who have been sick in pregnancy, I could do with some advice.

Nauseous first trimester but no vomiting, some retching. 14+4 today and long work day, was hungry, ate a fried donut (oops). Came home and felt sick, had a snack and drink and felt worse. I've reached and then an hour later thrown up a bit if the snack and feel really shaky and cold. Is this normal? I think the fried-ness upset my stomach but the shaking after vomiting has me concerned. I feel terrible! No temp. No signs of a virus...just a tiny vomit and shakiness.

LiMc1 · 25/02/2022 22:18

@notsofertilemyrtle the most random things can set you off. It could be the grease of the donut or you were just not feeling food that day. I had nausea from week 6 to week 11 constantly. Now at 16 weeks and had a random bit of nausea today. No reason really but I think it's from a growth spurt as my bump is starting to show today.
All is fine, keep an eye on it and look after yourself. Eat dry, plain things for now and keep the fluids up.
As long as you dont get a temp that doesnt come down after paracetamol then you're good. Xx

madeleine85 · 25/02/2022 22:59

@notsofertilemyrtle try to sleep it off. I had HG with my first and after it started getting better i'd still have one bad day every few weeks. It was like the placenta was growing to keep up with the baby and it was catching up or something. That was my guess anyway. Rest and staying away from food you experience nausea with was my way forward. Good luck!

notsofertilemyrtle · 26/02/2022 08:00

Thanks much @LiMc1 and @madeleine85 ❤️ it got worse and turned into more vomiting after trying to eat (I thought maybe my stomach was too empty) but that brought some relief rather than retching.
You were both right, I needed water and no food. This has happened (more mildly!) With fried foods before but with pregnancy too it was so much worse. A good reminder to stick to nice, easy-to-digest foods even if I feel ok. I'll assume the baby hates donuts for now.
Day of bland foods for me! Thanks again xxx

CoalCraft · 26/02/2022 09:09

@Unsure1010 Most likely your results are already on the system - you could ask your midwife to look it up? That you haven't heard anything yet is genuinely a good sign though; they ring within 3-4 working days generally if something is wrong. No news is good news!

DD took her first "hands-free" steps yesterday! Sorry, not pregnancy related, just excited and wanted to share ☺️

I had a pretty tough night last night though with anxiety. I've been really good for the most part but last night I spent three hours or so in a cycle of worrying, getting annoyed at myself and trying to think of other things, only to slip back into worrying again 😕 I was having some strange feelings low on my tummy that were probably just gas (and also I've been a bit constipated which can cause discomfort) or uterus growing, but which reminded me of the contractions I had from 19 weeks on in my first pregnancy and eventually led to prem birth. I was getting myself in a tizzy worrying about not being able to get anyone to take it seriously and such and it happening again, but too early for baby to survive Sad

But in reality I'll have a consultant this time, and am armed with prior knowledge. So my chances are better.

In other news, I've had more maybe-kicks! It's still too early really, I'm only 15 weeks, but it really did feel like it ☺️

theotherfossilsister · 26/02/2022 14:07

Good luck to everyone waiting on results.

I'm still incredibly anxious about the NIPT. I'm also worried as one of my markers is low Papp a, just asked people on antenatal testing for a handhold reassurance as they might know more.

Still cripplingly tired although on half days at work which is helping. Also I'm eating so much.

DP was out with a friend last night so I got myself a huge steak with curly fries and mixed leaf salad. I ate it all except the gristly bit and felt satisfied for the first time in ages. Maybe steak is the answer?

@CoalCraft that's so exciting about your dd. I really hope you don't have another pre term birth. That must be so scary and I'm glad she's ok abd walking now.

madeleine85 · 26/02/2022 14:37

@CoalCraft that’s lovely about your DD. I love that age, when they kind of waddle like little penguins and it’s adorably cute ❤️. It will be nice to have 2 close in age too (I’m guessing)

@theotherfossilsister my Papp a is low too, what's your levels? The consultant rang me yesterday to talk through it and if craving steak get your iron levels check to make sure they're not low x
Tiredmum31111 · 26/02/2022 19:12

Sorry for everyone going through a stressful time awaiting results!
@Shelly1812 did they ring you about your Papp a before sending your letter out?
I know it's not long but I've been waiting for my screening results for a week now.
I've had NIPT done privately so I'm not actually worried about being high risk but still had screening so I know my Papp a level because this was my big issue last pregnancy.
Just wondering if they tell you earlier than the 2 weeks letter about papp a?
I think I'll just feel better after a letter like everyone. I was high risk last time and it still took them 7 days to ring to tell me so don't feel really relax yet. But let's be honest I won't until 20 week scan!
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend x

Yeah my results appeared on the badger app on Tue and my midwife called me that day, then the consultant called on Friday, said I'll have scans in the 3rd trimester to check baby's size although based on my sons birth weight they wouldnt expect me to have a small baby (he was 8lb a couple of weeks early), said if baby's small they'll look to induce if not and I don't develop preeclampsia again they'll leave me be aslong as both baby and I are healthy. What happened in your last pregnancy with Papp a? (If you don't mind me asking) x
Tiredmum31111 · 27/02/2022 08:07

@Shelly1812 I don't mind at all. I was high risk for all trisomy's at combined screening. Pretty much all due to Papp a being so low (0.1) we had a CVS which came back fine. She was showing growth restriction already by 18 weeks and the tested the remaining sample for all trisomy's. They found trisomy 16 is some of the placental cells. Massive rollercoaster followed, an amniocentesis showed the baby didn't show any evidence of trisomy 16 so it was something called trisomy 16 confined placenta mosaicism. So there was a genetic error just confided just to the placenta and not baby. But meant my placenta was deformed and rubbish. Had twice weekly CTGs and scans from about 25 weeks ish but hang on till 35 weeks and born healthy just small. I am aware low Papp a is the majority of the time not indicative of anything like this at all so don't want to scare you (and everything was fine in the end) Just because it's happened before I'm just impatient to know what my levels are. A few of my friends have had low Papp a and just the same as you just had a few extra growth scans and baby all fine and weight fine as well :) xx

Thank you for sharing ☺️, lovely to hear that other than a little small your last pregnancy went well. Hopefully you'll have your results soon, my levels are just low and no more (0.400mom). I've welcomed the extra scans and monitoring, the consultant said there's also a link with low levels and preeclampsia and given mines started early last time I'm not surprised x

BunnieMilk · 27/02/2022 10:10

14 weeks and I swear I felt Brixton hicks last night. Surely this is too early? My stomach just turned into a hard ball a few times

Tiredmum31111 · 27/02/2022 10:33

@BunnieMilk I'm 14 weeks and have had a couple of episodes where I've felt a similar feeling where it's gone hard but not really similar to braxton bicks as such almost like what you feel like further down the line when they do a flip and everything goes hard, but too a lot lesser extend. Just presume every thing that's not painful is normal I suppose ha.
@Shelly1812 exactly more scans and monitoring can only be a good thing :) x

theotherfossilsister · 27/02/2022 10:36

@Shelly1812 mine are 0.39 which is quite scary xx

theotherfossilsister · 27/02/2022 10:45

@Tiredmum31111 that sounds a really traumatic experience. I'm glad she's ok now
