@DontKnowWhatIsWhatTheyJustHug welcome! Oh I hope you get some answers soon! I'm also on aspirin but that's due to suspected preeclampsia with my first pregnancy. Hugs!

Isonthecase · 23/02/2022 14:40

@DontKnowWhatIsWhatTheyJustHug hope you get the answers soon ☺️

@DontKnowWhatIsWhatTheyJustHug

Hello, can I join in, please? Due second baby in August. A few things have come up recently during antenatal tests. My first pregnancy and labour were really straight forward so in comparison I'm feeling anxious and a bit down. I posted a new thread but I think it got lost in the mn ether. Just hoping to chat with anyone who's going through similar tests. Awaiting results from a NIPT taken yesterday. Literally just been diagnosed with thrush and strep B. My first baby had a low birth weight so I'm on aspirin this time around to help prevent that.
I'm on aspirin too due to preeclampsia with my son, here if you need to chat x
Rach713 · 23/02/2022 16:27

Can I join please? :)
I had my 12 week scan yesterday which put me at 14+2, so my due date is 21st August.

The sonographer found a cyst on my ovary and asked if I'd had any pain with it, which I haven't, and said they would check it again at the 20 week scan. Worried me a bit because she didn't give much information about it or the size etc. Anyone had a cyst found during pregnancy?

DontKnowWhatIsWhatTheyJustHug · 23/02/2022 18:09

Thanks @BunnieMilk, @Isonthecase and @Shelly1812. It’s a waiting game for results. Not too long a wait thank goodness! Hope you’ve all been keeping well.

CoalCraft · 23/02/2022 20:29

Got my 20 week scan date through - 31 March! The waiting resumes 😁

Wisemensay · 23/02/2022 21:14

@Rach713 I had a cyst in my first pregnancy detected at the 12 week scan. They just monitored it (it was a big one, 8cm) to make sure it wasn't twisting or having any impact on baby's growth (had an extra growth scan and a few apts with a consultant). It wasn't causing any problems so it was left alone Smile

seathistle · 24/02/2022 07:57

Hey everyone - anyone who does pregnancy yoga, do you do it online or do you have a local group you go to? If online can you recommend anyone?

Had to miss my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday because covid. So booked for next week where I'll be nearly 18 weeks! 🙈

Mufflette · 24/02/2022 12:57

@seathistle I'm signed up to do in person yoga classes, but if I were going online my first choice would be Triyoga (Lolly Stirk is supposed to be amazing), or for free classes I think Lucy Flow looks good on YouTube. I'm sure there's loads of options though!

CoalCraft · 24/02/2022 13:57

Anyone else having distressing dreams recently? Twice in a row now I have dreamt that I've had a large bleed but been unable to get anyone to take it seriously Sad

Back in the real world, I'm a bit concerned about the organisation level in my health board. I rang the antenatal clinic today to ask if any consultant appointments had been made for me (since I've previously not received NHS letters for unknown reasons), only to find out that they hadn't actually processed my referral yet and it was still waiting in limbo. It was supposed to be processed immediately after my dating scan a week ago.

The lady on the phone was very helpful and processed it then and there (so it clearly isn't a long task...), assuring me that Consultant so-and-so would assess it on Tuesday so I should ring on Thursday to find out when they want to see me, so at least things are moving now, albeit a bit delayed!

I probably sound silly, fretting over a lost week, but my problems started quite early in my last pregnancy so I suppose I'm keen to be assessed soon, and I guess it just doesn't fill me with confidence in the system as a whole? The lady was very apologetic and explained that four of the five office staff were off sick (covid I'm guessing) so things were a little hectic but just... Uch.

Sorry for my little moan, hope everyone's doing okay. Anyone booked / had their whooping cough jab yet?

@seathistle that's annoying about your delayed appointment. I guess that means you're having it in person though? My midwife sticks to phone appointments for virtually everything nowadays.

ToCaden · 24/02/2022 15:04

@coalcraft yes about the dreams! I'm a vivid dreamer, so usually have really good control over my dreams. Like I always know I'm dreaming and if I don't like the dream I'm in I can create a door and go through it to a dream of my choosing.

Last five or so nights though it's been really distressing and uncontrollable nightmares (not just about baby) and it's weird for me to not recognise I'm dreaming most of the time and not be able to control them. Odd.

Latest weird thing. Belly buttons. I'm an innie but got weirded out today because it looked different, like not as deep as it usually is. Apparently this is a thing that happens (more obviously later on in pregnancy) innie being pushing toward an outie. There are so many little pregnancy things I was not aware of.

SantiagoSister · 24/02/2022 16:04

@CoalCraft yes to strange dreams! I’ve been having vivid dreams practically from conception, and have had those awful dreams about bleeding too. It’s funny what pregnancy does to us isn’t it! I think you have every right to be worried about your health board, they sound terribly disorganised. I am a very organised person so I can appreciate your frustrations, I’m so glad you’re chasing these things up so they will get sorted in the end and you’ll get the right care when you need it. It’s a shame it’s all down to you though.

@ToCaden so funny you should say that about belly buttons, I noticed mine is a lot shallower today too! 😂 I think this morning is the first morning I’ve woken with something that resembles an actual small bump, so maybe that’s why it looks different today. So far I usually have a 7 month pregnant bump after dinner, then back to my normal belly in the morning, but this morning I noticed it didn’t quite return to normal 🥰

madeleine85 · 24/02/2022 17:57

@CoalCraft the dreams are insane aren't they?! I don't remember them at all from my first pregnancy, but this one really seems to be getting me every night.

@seathistle not sure if this is available in the UK but my friend does the Obe classes and likes them. I'd say though Youtube has a decent free selection that might be better.

Glago2017 · 24/02/2022 18:02

@CoalCraft sorry you have had to chase appointment up, it can be so annoying. Especially if you are anxious. I have my wooping cough vaccine straight after my 20 week scan in March. X

nattergal · 24/02/2022 18:38

Hi all, I just had my scan today, all looking good and moved to 14 weeks. I was so anxious so very very relieved to have it out of the way. I'm not very good at remembering to check Mumsnet and keeping up with threads! Is there a FB group going?

Gem2811 · 24/02/2022 20:45

Anyone else feeling rubbish at nights? Feel uncomfortablely massive with an aching back and a nose like I've got a bad cold every night?

squatternutbosh12 · 24/02/2022 22:18

I’m with you all on the intense dreams! Mad shit going down every night.

@ToCaden that is so cool that you can usually control/influence your dreams. I’ve never been able to do that!

@Gem2811 I feel rubbish at night too, mostly because my sickness is worst then. Although I am getting a blocked nose now too- “pregnancy rhinitis” it’s a thing!

Been enjoying the Apprentice tonight in between vomits - why are they all so bloody useless this year it’s hilarious 😂

Embi · 25/02/2022 08:04

Hello everyone. Hope you don't mind if I jump in and join the August baby club ☺️

I had my scan yesterday and I was really excited, as the midwives kept telling me I'll finally be able to share the news. But my husband feels we should wait until we've had results back from the tests they're running for downs syndrome and other conditions. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive results? I'm dying to tell everyone! We have no plan of action if the results are positive. Not something we've discussed yet. I know which way I'd lean, not sure if he'd feel the same.

The main thing is, I'm worried people will guess before I tell them. My belly seems to be absolutely huge for a 13+3 week FTM. Need to work on my core muscles apparently. I'm sure much of it is my bowels finding a new home higher up in my abdomen, however my bump still sticks out noticably early in the morning. Keeping it quiet feels ridiculous. I saw some friends the other day who I've not seen in a while and they guessed I was pregnant. I denied it 🤣 They must just think I've massively overindulged. I feel so self conscious.

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 25/02/2022 08:09

@Embi my blood test results took a week to appear on the BadgerNotes app, I don't have a letter confirming them yet.

Embi · 25/02/2022 08:16

@netflixandsauvignonblanc Oh thank you! I've never heard of this app. I'll check it out!

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 25/02/2022 08:18

@Embi I don't think all NHS trusts are using BadgerNotes so you may be directed to another app by your midwife or they may still be using paper notes in which case you'd need to wait for the letter or a phone call from them.

Cakecakecheese · 25/02/2022 08:19

@Embi not all hospitals use the badger notes app, mine doesn't, if yours did you'd know by now I assume.

I got my results in the post 3 days after my scan.

Beth262 · 25/02/2022 09:03

Welcome @Embi and congratulations.

My trust also don't use badger notes (though it sounds useful!) but had my bloods done on the Monday and results in Friday's post.

@netflixandsauvignonblank @cakecakecheese @Beth262

Thanks all for your help! It's good to know the results won't be too far off. I'm going on holiday imminently (probably before my results arrive) so annoyingly I'll have to wait even longer to tell people. I'll be 17 weeks before I can tell anyone in person! If it's not already obvious, it'll definitely be obvious by then haha

Unsure1010 · 25/02/2022 09:56

I’m still waiting on my results - it’s been a week and a half since the bloods were taken. I did get a call on Monday, as there was some confusion around my ethnicity - one department had me down as one and another had me classed as something else - which apparently affects what tests they’re looking at. Starting to get quite stressed out about it all. I know they should ring me if there are problems, but if they can get my ethnicity wrong across the trust, what else could fall through???

Sorry for the negative post, just feeling quite overwhelmed with it all. My midwife only responds to text messages and isn’t really very helpful, so haven’t even asked her yet. Was hoping they’d be here today, but still nothing…
