Looks like you’re the first so far - exciting!

SquigsC · 21/02/2022 23:06

Exciting and scary @squatternutbosh12 but lovely to know that your date is close to mine!

squatternutbosh12 · 21/02/2022 23:24

Its super close, hey almost-due-date-buddy! 😊 my due date was actually the 19th originally, then it was brought forward a week at my dating scan, then brought forward a further well due to plan for c section!
Can’t pretend I’m not pleased about having two fewer weeks of nausea/fatigue/migraines than I expected 😂
How’ve you been feeling?

@BunnieMilk omg poor you don’t worry though they will have seen the whole gamut of mortified vomiting pregnant ladies and they totally won’t have minded in the slightest! Hope you’re less sick now…

Shelly1812 · 22/02/2022 07:54

@BunnieMilk

Embarrassing day for me today! Booked a private scan- thought it would be nice to take along my mum and sister to see the twins on a ultrasound. Getting to the end of the scan and a wave of sickness came over me.. I thought oh no please NOT NOW! Sat up and puked all over myself, the bed and onto the floor. I was so embarrassed and kept apologising . The sonographer was lovely about it, thank god. As I was leaving a couple was waiting to be seen next in the waiting room with a look of pure horror on their faces! 😬 I'm due back to the same place for my gender scan at 16 weeks: id like to say I hope she won't remember me, but I have a feeling she'll never forget 😂
Oops Grin, don't be embarrassed though it can't be helped and I'm sure you're not the first and won't be the last Blush. Atleast you got to see the babies x
Shelly1812 · 22/02/2022 07:54

@theotherfossilsister

Thank you for all the lovely supportive messages. They mean a lot. The midwife who took the NIPT was lovely. It should be back on Monday 28th.

Welcome to new people and really sorry for all folk who have also gone through trauma.

I had another scan and saw babies little hand. It looks perfect

Hope it's a quick wait and positive news x
Shelly1812 · 22/02/2022 09:19

Can someone post the Facebook link again please Smile x

Secondtimemum1829 · 22/02/2022 09:39

Hi all, got my results back of the combined test and I am low risk. Such a relief.

@theotherfossilsister sorry to here you are going through the stress and more anxious waiting for your NIPT results, keep us posted won’t you. Will be thinking of you. X

Oh wow! That's a huge leap isn't it? How are you feeling about the c section? (In all honesty I am very jealous of /happy for you cutting back those two weeks of frustration - excellent work!)

I am feeling okay. First trimester was pretty grim - I am now really achy in my lower back and stomach. I am a first time mum so don't know if it's just growing pains or whether I should get it looked at.

Mufflette · 22/02/2022 10:14

@theotherfossilsister hope this week passes quickly for you, I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you a lot. Your baby is clearly already very loved regardless of whatever the news brings (but obviously hoping for it to be good!).

Isonthecase · 22/02/2022 11:40

@BunnieMilk 😂😂😂 sure they'll have seen it all before!

CoalCraft · 22/02/2022 12:18

14+3 today and I could have sworn I felt kicks last night Confused Logically I know it isn't and it'll be another few weeks before I can feel real movement but it felt just like it!

Anyone else having these phantom kicks? 😂

SquigsC · 22/02/2022 12:32

Not yet! I am 17 weeks today but I know there's another thread on mumsnet where some people had movement/kicks really early!
SquigsC · 22/02/2022 12:33

As we're all having summer babies - has anybody thought about what supplies they may need? I want to make a list for friends/family to buy from but even when it comes to bodysuits I am like - do I get short sleeved? vest straps? Ahhh!

CoalCraft · 22/02/2022 12:41

@SquigsC I don't think they're real kicks, just my mind playing tricks on me Grin I felt DD move pretty early but not this early!

I don't think I'll believe it fully until I can actually see/feel my tummy move from the outside.

Beth262 · 22/02/2022 12:49

Not necessarily Coalcraft I was convinced I had a few flutters around 13 weeks but nothing since. Cue anxiety spiral! But had my 16 week midwife appointment this morning and heart was beating away like a drum. He/she has obviously just gone back into hiding!

@SquigsC I think it all depends what kind of summer we have. When it was warm with my first (I think I recall the sun out at some point!) I just kept him in vests or shorty babygros. We were in a new build though so his room was always crazy warm.

ToCaden · 22/02/2022 13:06

@coalcraft I've been feeling something that might be baby moving since a couple days before 14 weeks. It's gotten more frequent and slightly stronger as time has gone on, but still slightly unsure whether it's baby.

My younger cat curled up on my tummy today and I swear it felt like baby was determinedly trying to kick her. Lots of consistent muscle twitch type feelings in the same place. Sibling rivalry starting early?

I'm just noticing it at the moment and not jumping to conclusions. I think if it continues to grow stronger to the point it's definitely baby kicking then I might start to believe it.

SantiagoSister · 22/02/2022 13:23

@CoalCraft @ToCaden I’m with you both on the thinking I’m feeling something, but still not 100% sure it’s baby. I thought I felt a little something this morning while laying in bed, and a few wiggles this afternoon I think. I also have constant wind (sorry, TMI) so I’m not 100% convinced it isn’t that, but it does feel different. I’m 16 weeks with second pregnancy so I guess it could be? 🤷🏽‍♀️ I can’t wait for us all to be able to feel those lovely definite kicks!!

@SquigsC good question, I have also been wondering this! This will hopefully be our first baby we get to take home, if we’re lucky enough this time. So I have no idea what’s best for summer babies at all and would love to know, totally clueless about babies in general at the moment!

CoalCraft · 22/02/2022 13:37

@SantiagoSister I am also very windy 🙈 so could well be that. As I'm sat here at my desk though I can feel twinges where I think my uterus now is... Maaayybe? But probably just muscle spasms or my imagination!

Could well be real for you though! 16 weeks isn't exceptionally early, especially since you have carried before.

As for the summer clothes convo, my house is either stone cold or sweltering, so my little one will probably live in babygrow + shortsleeve vest or just vest depending on which it is. We have a lot of DD's old stuff so not expecting to have to buy much.

koalalala · 22/02/2022 13:41

Feeling anxious about my 12 week scan which is at 3!

I don't remember feeling this way with #1 but I'm honestly terrified somethings wrong.

Waiting is crap. Should be 13+2 today but expecting to be 12+ something. Earlier scans have shown me a few days behind.

Haven't had a scan now since 9 weeks so almost a month ago!

SantiagoSister · 22/02/2022 13:51

@CoalCraft glad it’s not just me! 🙈💨 I have been feeling those exact twinges today too whilst sat at my desk. Surely it’s got to be baby, even if we’re not convinced, I don’t get these feelings when windy and not pregnant! Here’s hoping for some definite, cannot deny movement for us soon 😊

Seems like short-sleeved vests are a must for a summer baby, I guess you can always add another layer if it isn’t as hot as expected. Thanks for educating me guys! Much appreciated.

Good luck for this afternoon @koalalala, pre-scan nerves are so horrible 😩 hope everything goes perfectly for you!

Shelly1812 · 22/02/2022 13:57

Got my screening results back today low risk. My PAPP A is low though at 4.00 mom anyone else? Midwife called to say I'll be scanned in the 3rd trimester to keep an eye on it and rather than phone call for 16 weeks she's booked me in so she can take bloods etc. phone call with the consultant on Friday to review my care plan (highly BMI and previous pre eclampsia). Hope everyone feeling good x

ToCaden · 22/02/2022 14:10

@koalalala I've been positive I'd get bad news before both scans I've had so far. Braced myself each time so I wouldn't lose it emotionally (despite zero signs anything bad had happened).

Both times baby was doing perfectly fine and it was a wonderful experience.

If you've seen a good heartbeat on a previous scan then the chances of a missed miscarriage are very very low (that fact helped me as I went into my 12 week scan as had an early scan showing a heartbeat at seven weeks).

squatternutbosh12 · 22/02/2022 16:32

@SquigsC yeah feeling fine about it thanks, I guess birth is scary no matter how the baby comes out! But so long as he & I both end up safe and sound its all good! And I do like having a provisional date, even though i know it might change.
I’m getting quite a lot of that sort of cramping pain as well, I randomly had the worst back ache last night but all better today. I think it’s to be expected as things grow/stretch, but there’s no harm in giving your midwife a bell to talk it over!

People feeling early movements- it’s definitely not unheard of especially if second baby- I swore I felt something a week or two back, but it’s my first baby and it hasn’t happened again since… so although I was convinced at the time, I now think it may have just been an enthusiastic fart moving around Blush

koalalala · 22/02/2022 17:26

Relieved that all was fine. Fingers crossed I hear nothing now in relation to screening tests and then I can relax for a few weeks before I start worrying about the 20 week scan!

Thanks everyone!

Hello, can I join in, please? Due second baby in August. A few things have come up recently during antenatal tests. My first pregnancy and labour were really straight forward so in comparison I'm feeling anxious and a bit down. I posted a new thread but I think it got lost in the mn ether. Just hoping to chat with anyone who's going through similar tests. Awaiting results from a NIPT taken yesterday. Literally just been diagnosed with thrush and strep B. My first baby had a low birth weight so I'm on aspirin this time around to help prevent that.
