@SantiagoSister, I'm sorry you had to go through that (I'm sending you hugs) and can imagine every appointment makes you nervous too.
I'll ask the midwife today when we should expect to feel movements from and report back. X

SantiagoSister · 17/02/2022 08:00

Thank you @Unknown6, that’s very kind of you. Thank you for asking your midwife today too, it’ll be good to hear her take on movements x

SantiagoSister · 17/02/2022 08:04

Sorry to hear your news @Donthaveaclue1, I can imagine the worry you must be feeling. Hopefully your baby will only be mildly affected once they are born, I’m glad you have a good team looking after you with all the experts a fetal medicine unit brings.

Littlebutload · 17/02/2022 08:44

@positivevibes22 I'm on low dose aspirin aswell (75mg a day). I had pre eclampsia at the end of my last pregnancy so my consultant has put me on just in case. She says it's no harm. I don't know when I have to stop taking it but I will see her a good few times between now and then so I will find out I'm sure!

Littlebutload · 17/02/2022 08:47

@donthaveaclue1 I'm sorry to hear that, that must be tough for you. Thankfully it sounds like your hospital is on the ball and you are in good hands

CoalCraft · 17/02/2022 09:06

@Donthaveaclue1 I'm sorry to hear that your little one is poorly. Funnily enough I was just reading about gastroschisis yesterday and it sounds like it's very treatable, as I'm sure has been explained to you.

I hope you're feeling okay about it all. I'm sure it must have been a horrible shock and you must be worried. Hoping it all goes as straightforward as it possibly can xx

Isonthecase · 17/02/2022 09:35

Sorry to hear about your baby @SantiagoSister, it totally makes sense that you'd find this pregnancy stressful and I hope your hospital is being really supportive.

Donthaveaclue1 · 17/02/2022 10:53

Thank you everyone I really appreciate it. I was very shocked but feeling upbeat until they told me there was a higher risk of still birth and also a risk of short bowl syndrome which sadly not many baby’s survive from due to malnutrition so that really took the wind out of my sail. To think there’s a possibility that I might not come home with my baby at all is very sad a scary thought but I’m just trying to hope for the best outcome x

Isonthecase · 17/02/2022 13:27

@Donthaveaclue1 that's such crap news to have to deal with, not surprised you're not feeling great about it. Will keep everything crossed that it's a super smooth fix and back to normal in no time. Feel free to talk about your feelings here ☺️

SantiagoSister · 17/02/2022 13:37

Thank you @Isonthecase, it is very stressful indeed but I’m really grateful and lucky that the hospitals have been brilliant so far 🤞🏼

Mufflette · 17/02/2022 13:57

So sorry @Donthaveaclue1 that must have been stuck a shock. Fingers crossed that finding out about it quite early on means you can have a good plan in place for the best outcome.

Unknown6 · 17/02/2022 14:00

@SantiagoSister, the midwife told me today that some people don't feel movements up until 25 weeks, so not to be concerned until much further along x

miltonj · 17/02/2022 14:24

Sending love to @Donthaveaclue1 and @SantiagoSister. Both must be hard pregnancies for you, in different ways xx

Donthaveaclue1 · 17/02/2022 14:52

Thanks everyone I’m just trying to hope for the best outcome and focusing on my other two children for now it was difficult trying to explain to them what is going on. Just doing positive things for the baby like I bought a pram and crib and my friend gave me some baby clothes so just washed and dried those trying to take my mind off the negative stuff x

SantiagoSister · 17/02/2022 15:11

That’s good to know @Unknown6, thank you. Hope that’s put your mind at ease a bit. Hopefully we do feel movements before 25 weeks but at least we know it’s normal if we don’t x

@miltonj thank you for being kind, much appreciated x

CoalCraft · 17/02/2022 15:13

Finally had my dating scan today, happy to say that everything went great! So will be adding myself to the due date list shortly ☺️

Only slightly concerning thing is that they had my address right in the system after all, so no explanation as to why the letters never showed up. Am now worried the same will happen with future appointments. I asked that they email me but that's not an option apparently!! So I'll just have to ring them regularly I guess and see if there's any appointments booked for me 🤷

Great news @CoalCraft, so pleased everything went well for you today. So odd about your appointment letters though, quite annoying you’ll have to keep chasing regularly to find out if you have any appointments coming up 😩

What stressful pregnancies @SantiagoSister and @Donthaveaclue1 - how I hope everything works out ok for all the parents and babies on this thread

I fell over on the bus today. Thirteen weeks and not showing in my clothes so I couldn't get a seat. I got out of the way of people getting off and went flying over a poor old man's Zimmer frame. He was ok thank fully but I ended up bursting into tears in front on the whole bus. I fell on my knees hard enough to bruise so really hoping the baby is ok and have been panic googling.

Thirteen weeks today but scan put us four days behind.

Am I jinxing it if I jump on August 24th?

3rdBabyDue · 17/02/2022 18:35

Been for gender scan today 14 weeks… shocked it’s a boy as already have two girls

madeleine85 · 17/02/2022 18:39

12 week scan today, all measuring as it should, they kept the due date as 30th August. For some reason 12 weeks feels to me like a big hurdle, so it is such a relief to be coming out with positive news.

Sorry to anyone who is having a complicated pregnancy, i'm sending you all the virtual hugs for things getting better/clearer, and i'm so glad you seem to have really great care

Thank you @theotherfossilsister, I truly wish that for all mums and babies on this thread too 🙏🏼 sorry to hear about your fall earlier, it must’ve been such a worry. Your baby will be absolutely fine, they’re so well cushioned inside you at this gestation I’m sure they wouldn’t have even noticed. It is so hard not to worry though, I’m the worlds worst. As for adding your name to the due date list, please go ahead, if there’s one thing I learnt from my experience, there’s so such thing as jinxing, so try to be brave and positive and add yourself to the 24th!

Thank you @madeleine85. So glad your scan went well today, it’s such a relief to know things are ok isn’t it.

Congratulations @3rdBabyDue 💙

13 weeks today! Whoop! X
