Uch, so tired today, still got this bloody cough and it kept me awake from like 4am D:

But six days till scan! How can six days still feel so long lol

Glago2017 · 11/02/2022 18:01

Anyone have good websites for maternity clothes? Dont want to spend a fortune but wanna be comfy. Dont need them atm but I'm going to Canada in 5 weeks so I'll be 18 weeks by then and need to think about packing. Tia. X

Mufflette · 11/02/2022 18:41

H&M have a good selection, other than that I'm planning to get stuff from eBay!

ToCaden · 11/02/2022 18:47

@coalcraft six days seems ages from today's perspective but bet when the date comes you'll wonder where the time went. Agree about the tiredness. My first day off today and the three cats (two were kittens) I was babysitting were picked up. I did some much needed cleaning then promptly fell asleep for three hours. Naps are wonderful things.

ToCaden · 11/02/2022 18:52

@glago2017 I've been mainly looking for amazon. Freecycle is also worth keeping an eye on. And charity shops. I've also discovered recently there are charity shops out there that purely stock baby related items. Also the finds section of the app 'Nextdoor.'

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 12/02/2022 08:40

@CoalCraft 5 more sleeps til our scans now! We're getting there slowly Smile

mumforfirsttime · 12/02/2022 09:28

Woke up this morning for the first time without feeling sick! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come 12weeks 2 days

theotherfossilsister · 12/02/2022 10:56

Our private twelve week scan on Thursday went well, perfect wriggly baby, but seeing them made me more anxious weirdly. Like losing them would be like losing a person now we've seen them. Is that weird?

Next scan is on Wednesday and still very scared. Off sick with low iron but hoping to be back Monday.

@mumforfirsttime were the same days, are you 25th?

@glago2017 I was thinking of getting some lovely kaftans which you can wear now or after baby. I love kaftan dresses and actual maternity clothes seem too much of a big step.

Isonthecase · 12/02/2022 11:25

Yeah, it flies by! I've suddenly realised I'm 12 weeks, hoping it feels a bit more real after the scan in a couple of days 😂

Obviously the last month is still going to be about a century long.

CoalCraft · 12/02/2022 13:44

Wish I could agree with you guys who think it's gone quick; 12+4 here and feel like I should be about 30 with how slow the time's gone 😫

Cakecakecheese · 12/02/2022 16:17

@CoalCraft I'm with you. I'm having an IVF pregnancy and everyone bangs on about the 2ww between transfer and test day being long and tortuous but it was nothing compared to the wait for scans and I do feel like I've been pregnant for ages with nothing much to show for it! I'm hoping now I'm in 2nd trimester time will speed up a bit.

PopGoesBang · 12/02/2022 16:47

Hey all.
Hope all of those waiting for scans find that time speeds up for you!
I'm 15 weeks tomorrow. The hypermesis still likes to pop it's head up and remind me I can't over do it.

Name wise we have decided on middle names if it's a boy... but both feel I'm having a girl, we'll find out at the next scan. Oddly last time I found it easy to settle on a boys name but struggled with a girls because I had a strong feeling it was a girl. So much harder naming a human than a pet!

Unsure1010 · 12/02/2022 21:01

I have found myself disappearing down a nursery-decorating wormhole tonight. 12 week scan is on Wednesday, so don’t want to plan too much actual baby stuff, until we’ve had reassurances. But the room that will be the nursery desperately needs decorating anyway. So, convinced (conned) myself into thinking that if we started doing that, with a neutral theme, that at least I’d be keeping busy, and not clock-watching. Now my Pinterest board is full of nursery inspo and I have about 5 baby style wallpaper samples arriving 🙈🙈 Stepping away from my phone now.

Agree with everyone who feels like time is dragging - I definitely don’t remember my first one feeling this long! I know we shouldn’t wish it away, but my word the days are long!!!

On the maternity clothes front, I found a bargain on Facebook marketplace today, a lady was selling tons of barely worn stuff for next to nothing. Feeling like at least I accomplished something pregnancy related at least

theotherfossilsister · 13/02/2022 12:24

@CoalCraft @Cakecakecheese this is an ivf baby too. I've found in going from one scan to the next like safety dens in a game of tag. We were twelve weeks on Thursday and have NHS scan next Wednesday but have had two private ones too. I keep thinking about the 30 percent chance of live birth per transfer. I know that no longer holds true after the positive test and the release from clinic scan but I still think about it all the time. So scared for 12.6 scan

surprised12 · 13/02/2022 12:44

Had private 12 week scan today, 12w+3 so officially August baby.

The baby was so active in the scan, it was twisting, twirling, stretching, did a few 360 spins! It was the funniest, most overwhelming happiest thing ever!!

Isonthecase · 13/02/2022 14:13

@theotherfossilsister a friend who had IVF pregnancies said the same, you can know it's very likely everything will work out but it still doesn't feel safe. That said, once you've seen a heartbeat I think chances are virtually the same as a non-ivf pregnancy. For what it's worth, the pregnancy she was talking about worked out absolutely fine.

theotherfossilsister · 13/02/2022 14:35

Thank you @Isonthecase, that is reassuring. I keep thinking something's wrong

mamaof2girls · 14/02/2022 08:16

@surprised12 so glad your 12 week scan went well! So good to see.

My youngest has tested positive this morning so defo not a good start to my Monday! X

CoalCraft · 14/02/2022 09:09

@surprised12 Wow the little face on your scan is so clear, amazing! Glad it all went well 😊

@mamaof2girls Oh no, hope your little one is feeling okay, and that you don't catch it too!

Three days till my scan... Nearly there now! And 12+6, so 2nd trimester tomorrow, eep!

LiMc1 · 14/02/2022 09:24

Lovely to see all the positive news. I'm 14 weeks now and sort or getting a bump.
The bloating has massively gone down, and I'm pretty sure when they weigh me at my midwife appointment on Friday I will have lost weight. I felt huge in the first 12weeks due to bloat and now I feel like normal with a teeny tiny bump that could be mistaken for a big lunch. 🤷‍♀️
Anyone else wanting things to hurry up?! I want the 20 week scan already! I'm soo impatient 😂

ToCaden · 14/02/2022 09:48

@limc1 I want the 20 week scan sooner, but also want as much productive time as possible before baby is here to see if I can finish as many of the rooms in the house as possible (assuming second trimester increase in energy ever happens...) Hoping I'm still active in third trimester but being heavily pregnant in summer doesn't sound like a good combination.

So nice to hear all the 12 week scans happening. It's strange. Sometimes I think oh I'm in the second trimester, I'm really pregnant now, then I think how I'm 14 weeks and that still doesn't sound like much.

Anyone got their letter through with date for 20 week scan? I've had a letter booking me in at 30 weeks (I assume this is an extra consultant one as I'm ivf) but nothing for 20 weeks.

Still tired here. Booked some time off work which I'm hoping will help. My abdomen muscles are getting such a workout so think they're trying to give way to a bump. Hard to say whether there's anything there though.

Mufflette · 14/02/2022 10:16

@LiMc1 feels so far away, I feel like I want a scan every week just to see what's going on in there!

I've just told work which makes things feel really real. I know my team will all be lovely though, and I'm really looking forward to not having to find the loosest possible clothes to wear when I see them to hide the bump/bloat (still not sure where one starts and the other ends...).

I've got all my appointments in now - 20wk scan plus cervical length one as I've had a Lletz before, and all the midwife appointments in too.

Mufflette · 14/02/2022 10:17

Good luck to everyone finally getting their scan this week by the way!

netflixandnochill · 14/02/2022 11:21

Just had my scan and all good! Baby measuring 13w1d and new due date of 21st Aug 💕

CoalCraft · 14/02/2022 12:05

I have a feeling the maternity department have my address down wrong as I never received a letter about the dating scan, not even after j rang them to ask for another! Grin Will have to check with them when I get there.

Obviously wouldn't have expected to have heard about 20 week scan yet anyway, given I haven't had the '12 week' one yet.

I think the next thing for me after scan will be midwife chat at 16 weeks to go over blood results. I'm expecting to meet a consultant at some point but have been told this will be from 20 weeks... Bit concerned as think my problems started at 19 weeks last time.
