@monkeyjocks glad it's not just me!! Oh no I feel for you having to try and hide it from colleagues!! Are you in the workplace full time too!?

Chlox16 · 01/02/2022 13:49

@MOLWI

Does anyone else keep running to be sick but only dry heaving and not actually being sick? Bc I've been doing this for the last few days 😂🤢
@MOLWI I do this literally every single morning. Can't even brush my teeth anymore without gagging Grin
Peauela · 01/02/2022 13:52

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I think he meant more if your current symptoms if any disappear all of a sudden.

hayleynk27 · 01/02/2022 13:57

Is anyone just feeling run down? Like how you get when have sore throat/cold?

I have been really struggling with congestion and am feel like I'm forever blowing my nose.

I've been lucky I have not had much sickness, but the nausea is there ALOT. Made worse by mucus.

I have a day I feel like I'm getting better, followed by a few days where I feel crap.

Currently 9+3

Hoping it will get better after the 12 weeks like everyone keeps telling me!

Billymay · 01/02/2022 13:59

Anyone who’s been pregnant before just feel like they are pregnant with a certain gender? I’ve got 2 Dds and so far I feel exactly the same… I’m 6 weeks tomorrow so everything can change but I’m feeling like this is going to be the third. Luckily I don’t have any real symptoms apart from feeling light headed if I haven’t eaten enough which is the same as previous. Xx

annlee3817 · 01/02/2022 14:10

@Billymay I kept thinking must be a boy as feel so rough this time, but gut instinct says girl, I'll be happy either way, already got a DD, although she'll probably cry if it's a boy 🙈 she sees her friends with brothers fight a lot

EverydayIsPJday · 01/02/2022 14:21

@Billymay I have two boys and so far am betting on another one 😊 I'm eating the same foods, hating the same things etc. Will find out in 14 weeks 😅

PuffyCupcake · 01/02/2022 14:29

Hi ladies, hope you’re all doing well. I’m a bit worried today - I’ve been spotting recently, a total of three times over 2 days. I’m currently 8+3, so I’ve just reached missing my second period.

Has anyone else experienced spotting? Should I be worried? Does this happen every time periods are supposed to be due - as in, is it part of the body’s normal routine to do this? Help please (and thank you for any advice in advance)! X

Billymay · 01/02/2022 14:48

@annlee3817 friends of mine who have been poorly in pregnancy have had boys so you just never know… will you be finding out? Aww your little one will love her brother and sister, little sisters can make you cry too. My youngest has ripped a chunk out of my eldest book she got on Sunday for her birthday so no doubt that will make her cry later 🙈

@EverydayIsPJday I just want spicy food which I did with my youngest girl, not put off anything but don’t fancy anything sweet. Will you find out or have a surprise? Xx

monkeyjocks · 01/02/2022 14:49

@MOLWI I am! No WFH for me unfortunately. Already had to leave once halfway through the day I was feeling so rough. I've told my managers and have been very supportive but I just wish I could lie in bed all day and not have to deal with all the work nonsense.

@PuffyCupcake I had some spotting around 6 weeks and it turned out to be nothing. But I did call the EPU and they had me come in for a scan just to be safe. I would def recommend you do the same, for some peace of mind.

SkaterChick · 01/02/2022 14:50

Well I had to tell my work today. The sickness was too much and too hard to hide. I had a good chat with my Dr this morning to get some diff anti sickness and she advised telling them.
It didn't go down very well, my manager was less than impressed, the first thing he said to me was well you haven't been here long enough to get anything. Didn't even get a congratulations.
The rest of my team congratulated me which was nice. I felt like the rest of my day was so much easier not having to hide feeling like crap!

EverydayIsPJday · 01/02/2022 15:16

@SkaterChick sorry to hear your manager wasn't supportive. How long have you been working there? Atleast you can relax a little now knowing the people around you are aware

@Billymay yes we will, we did with the other two. Would be thrilled either way, I have no preference although I always said I would be a mum of boys so be interesting to see if I was right! I fancy salty foods ATM. I'm abit overweight and put on a tone with ds2 so was adamant I wouldn't this time. I've been trying to eat super healthy since getting the bfp but alas the nausea is here and it's become survival. I can only hope that once the nausea wears off I can get back on track

Mags146 · 01/02/2022 15:17

@SkaterChick omg your manager sounds like a right arse! What is this response!
Saying that I think i will tell HR first and they will tell my manager during our 1to1 meeting but with HR being present to avoid nasty comments.

SkaterChick · 01/02/2022 15:22

@EverydayIsPJday yeah just a little. I've only been there 6 months and I checked and as long as you've been with a co for 26 weeks by the time your 25 weeks then you qualify for stat may pay (all I'd get regardless, they don't offer anything else)
He also made a snotty comment about how this happened before (referring to my eptopic MC I had in October) so clearly I was trying for a baby.

@Mags146 I know right, were too small of a company to have a hr department. It's honestly times like this I miss my office days!
After he spoke to me like that I just burst into tears and then couldn't stop for about half an hour 😂😂😂 I think that (hopefully) made him uncomfortable!

EverydayIsPJday · 01/02/2022 15:32

@SkaterChick what an absolute tosser. I can't believe he said that. I hope you are ok.

girafferafferaffe · 01/02/2022 15:40

@SkaterChick he sounds like a right bastard

PuffyCupcake · 01/02/2022 15:51

@monkeyjocks - thank you!❤️ That’s relieving - I’ve booked in for a scan on Thu. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 01/02/2022 15:55

@annlee3817 thanks. I just can't shake the feeling of dread.

@SkaterChick I'm sorry that's really crap

annlee3817 · 01/02/2022 16:00

@SkaterChick he sounds like a total twat

My pregnancies are really far apart, my DD is 11.. so I am not sure whether the 2 pregnancies feel so different because I am a lot older now or because the sex is different!

Had next to no morning sickness with my daughter but feeling sick all day every day with this pregnancy. Food cravings and aversions are different also.

Fingers crossed all being well, we shall see in a few months time!

Who is finding out the sex out of curiosity? we have to haha, we are both too impatient to wait!

Dreamer30 · 01/02/2022 16:44

@Tinadecember I'm wondering the same! My DD will be 13 in 3 months 😅 so huge age gap. All I remember is that I had nausea up until 12 weeks with her with no sickness or other real symptom but it was so long ago. This time I have the same nausea but feel I could be sick at the drop of a hat, everything smells disgusting and my boobs kill lol. I've had a Google to see if the same/different symptoms means a different sex but apparently not. I'll definitely be finding out, so eager to start buying and I'd rather it wasn't all neutral colours

SkaterChick · 01/02/2022 16:45

Thanks everyone, he really showed true colours today.
It's made me feel like after mat leave I'll be looking for a job else where...

@Tinadecember I want to know. I think my partner does, we haven't actually discussed it tbh! We went be doing a reveal or anything I just think it'll be nice to know to help with names and clothes etc

madeleine85 · 01/02/2022 16:52

@annlee3817 I feel the same. I haven't been feeling up to exercise as I'm so tired, and if I do, I have to nap, or i'm asleep by 8pm and our toddler isn't. I do think part of it is just digestion moving slow during pregnancy in general causing constipation/gassiness and bloating.I remember this happening the last time too. At my last drs apt at 6 weeks the computer was restarting so the nurses kept repeating my weight to each other to remember it and i was like good lord I get it! I'm 10 lbs heavier than the starting point with my first, please stop saying it out loud lol. It was laughably bad.

@girafferafferaffe glad i'm not alone with the exercise fails. I've been trying, but i'm just exhausted. I did a 20 minute walk/run on a treadmill and almost threw up by the end, and yesterday did a 15 minute body strength cardio class online and again felt like hell. Excercise is something i really rely on for mental health, so I really want this first trimester to end ASAP.

@Billymay I am pretty certain that this one is a boy. My DD was my last and I had HG which was horrendous. I did the sneakpeak DNA test and it said male, but is easily contaminated so i'll find out hopefully in 2 weeks or so. This time around I have felt sick and tired, but no actual throwing up which is night and day vs the last time, so I am assuming that the test is probably right. I'd have liked another girl just for easiness of using the same clothes/things, but also she has a big personality, so this will be easier to not "try fill her shoes" so to speak.

@SkaterChick what an absolute assh*le. That is the kind of person who should not be in management. It makes me so angry that women get blamed for being pregnant, being off, and costing a company time/money. Ironically I think my husband actually gets more paternity leave than I do maternity leave where i am, so his work should be more upset. Take the max stat mat leave and then GTFO of there. They won't be supportive when you have doctors checkups for a child, if something goes wrong out of the blue (it never comes at a good time tbh) etc. At least your colleagues are supportive and sound great x

EverydayIsPJday · 01/02/2022 16:55

@Tinadecember we absolutely will find out. My husband is too impatient and we are both 'planners' 😂 I can't wait to get to the 20 weeks scan 🤞🤞🤞🤞

annlee3817 · 01/02/2022 17:04

@Tinadecember we find out in just over two weeks , I found out with my DD and for me it helped me through a difficult pregnancy, this time I just want to know
