Morning ladies.

So woke up feeling really anxious for some reason. Don't feel as sick as I have done previous days and I'm worry for some reason that it means something is wrong!

Why do we do this to ourselves!? Hate the sickness but as soon as it's gone we want it back for reassurance.

Here's hoping everything is fine!

petitlapin1 · 31/01/2022 10:35

So, looks like I'm unexpectedly still in!

EPAU scan this morning showed baby in the right place, the right size and with a heartbeat. Not sure what the HCG levels meant so the anxiety is still very much with me (unlike the sore boobs and sickness which seem to be fading.) A little knowledge/googling is a dangerous thing!

Guess my next milestone will be the 12 week scan- I've now passed all my previous miscarriage markers.

How is everyone else doing today?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 31/01/2022 10:41

I'm 6weeks 3days and I'm feeling sick every morning which then makes me go to the toilet but it's not to be sick but the other end and it's quite loose... anyone else have this? I'm lying in bed now worried something is wrong

EverydayIsPJday · 31/01/2022 10:52

Brilliant news @petitlapin1 I'm pleased it went well this morning 😊

annlee3817 · 31/01/2022 10:54

Congrats @petitlapin1

@Hopingforarainbow27 I was exactly the same at 6 weeks for around a week, now I'm the other way :(

@annlee3817 ok that's good to know thank you!

IzzyLeigh · 31/01/2022 11:33

@madeleine85 that’s good to know that the nausea triggers might change daily! Maybe some of my fresh veg won’t absolutely repel me tomorrow? Here’s hoping.

@Dreamer30 That’s a good approach! I’ll try that. You’re right though, it’s so hard to eat just about anything. Even water is making me feel like I might throw up! My mother and my mother-in-law suggested a plain cracker first thing in the morning, so that’s what I’m doing now (it’s 6 a.m. here), so hopefully that works. I’ll report back!

@petitlapin1 ah! I’m so happy that your scan was good! And yes, a little knowledge/googling is so much more destructive than I ever thought it could be. I’m so happy for you! Try to enjoy this moment of reassurance for as long as you can before you let fears sink in again!

@Hopingforarainbow27 Try the BRAT (bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast) diet to firm things up a bit. It’s what my doctors always recommend when I have an ulcerative colitis flare and have the same problem. It's boring, but it does help.

Cannot take this stress any longer- wanted to wait until 8 weeks but booked a scan for Friday- I will be ~ 7 weeks from LMP although I did test ovulation and I think it will be a few days less- hope I see the heartbeat that will stress me out even more 😩 x

mummysept22 · 31/01/2022 11:47

That should read *didn't test ovulation

Mags146 · 31/01/2022 13:15

I booked my scan for Saturday.... Omg today draaags so much, I do not know how I am going to survive 5 more days!!!! 😞😢

Dreamer30 · 31/01/2022 13:39

@Maga146 my scan is also Saturday and it seems a lifetime away lol

Dreamer30 · 31/01/2022 13:40

Sorry @Mags146 lol

Mags146 · 31/01/2022 13:44

@Dreamer30 I think we have the longest week ahead of us hahahaha

Dreamer30 · 31/01/2022 13:53

@Billymay tagged you here as I seen you posted on the old thread :)

20viona · 31/01/2022 14:00

Iv got a scan a week on Saturday and it's absolutely killing me this waiting! Don't know whether to bring it forward. This Saturday would be 7 weeks I think. With my daughter my first scan was 9+2 and it was really clear.

Dreamer30 · 31/01/2022 15:35

So since Saturday night I've had this warm burning sensation in my lower tummy, where you'd expect to get period pain really. I called EPAU this morning and they said to call my GP and have a urine sample dipped for infection. I've done this and just called and my urine is clear. Called back EPAU and told them this and she said it sounded like cystitis and just to drink plenty etc. They won't see me as I've no bleeding and had a scan at 5w so they know everything is where it should be.
The thing is though, I have no pain or burning when going to the toilet and no other symptoms of a UTI. Cystitis symptoms are pretty much the same. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? So worried after already having 2 losses

Nannylp · 31/01/2022 16:32

Hiya,
I'm in exactly the same boat with nausea, literally from the moment I get up until the moment I go to sleep, it's completely debilitating.
I spoke to the GP last week who was very unsympathetic, as I wasn't actually being sick I was told that it was just 'distressing' and essentially to man up. Forward to this week I went in to see GP again and basically had a small breakdown, she has prescribed Cyclazine. I've only taken 1 so far but it has already helped, I still feel a bit dizzy and dozy but not sick and I can actually function.
Do speak to your GP and tell them that the normal advice of mainlining ginger isn't helping, it's affecting your mental health etc, they should help you out.

BlueSky57 · 31/01/2022 16:55

To anyone suffering with nausea/sickness, please see a doctor. I was fobbed off multiple times a week or so ago. Constantly told it was okay, recommended crackers, ginger biscuits etc but knew it was not normal.

Sometimes I was not being sick just feeling extremely sick and dizzy. When I was not feeling one of those things, I was having diarrhoea or sleeping constantly.

As many of you know I pushed to see a differnt doctor as my mental health was really suffering.
She actually listened to me, said I clearly have hyperemesis and prescribed medication. She also signed me off work for 2 weeks so I could rest without stressing about work. All of this has helped a lot!

I am no longer having very dark thoughts (which I have never previously suffered with), I still can’t really eat or drink a lot but am finding ways to exist & each day is passing at least! I sleep overnight without waking in constant pain, I still have to sleep during the day & force myself to sip water but I feel more positive that i can get through this now. Please don’t suffer!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 31/01/2022 18:19

I'm 6+2 and virtually no symptoms. Anyone else? I'm feeling a bit nervous!!!

madeleine85 · 31/01/2022 18:25

@BlueSky57 i'm so glad you pushed back and got help!! I remember being told the last time that the potential impact of ketosis from dehydration on a fetus can be much more dangerous than the side effects of medications. If you are worried about being dehydrated from morning sickness, just keep asking the doctor. I have no idea (except cheapness) why the NHS is so hesitant to prescribe medications that help so much. My sister who has good mental health had hypermesis for the whole 9 months with her first and was extremely depressed by the time of the birth. Mental health really matters, please take care of yourself! I had hypermesis with my first from week 6-16 but it did really get better after week 13/14. For most there is a real end in sight when the placenta takes over. it just took me a long time to wean myself off the medications without the nausea picking back up.

@IzzyLeigh I remember things like being unable to look at eggs one day to being fine the next. My first I couldn't look at vegetables for the whole pregnancy. This time around i'm fine with veggies, it is chicken I cannot be near. So strange!

Purplerain1144 · 31/01/2022 20:30

Had a private scan this evening
8w 1d so right where I thought and due 10th September. I am eating SO many snacks as it helps with the nausea and I'm just starving all the time. Also completely knackered!! Roll on first midwife appt and 12w scan 😬

TotoAnnihiliation · 31/01/2022 20:32

@Purplerain1144 congratulations on the scan.

I'm having a very early night, I can't cope with the constant queasiness. Everything sets me off, smells, taste, noise!

Purplerain1144 · 31/01/2022 20:35

I am off to bed soon too! Been getting 9/10 hours a night as just so exhausted. Hope you feel better tomorrow x

EverydayIsPJday · 31/01/2022 20:46

Congrats @Purplerain1144, great news 😊

I'm also off to bed now 🤦 really struggled with my two boys today (all home for a non work day). My littlest woke at 4.30 today which seriously doesn't help when you cant have more than one cup of coffee!! Nausea is creeping in now too. My fridge has become my nemesis once again....everything in there stinks. I can't even look directly at the coleslaw 😂 I'm trying to tell myself its all positive signs but I'm only 5+4 and time is standing still! I am generally feeling like I am FREEZING all day. So off to bed I go, to rest and get warm. Come on September!

Hope everyone gets some rest x

Peauela · 31/01/2022 21:11
