Oh no! I pray this isn't me 😅 9+2 tomorrow and so far only had nausea. Hope you're feeling better soon!
ShiningStarz · 14/02/2022 09:14

10 weeks today! I can now say the first scan is next week!!
So sorry for those of you experiencing sickness. Hopefully passes soon 🤞 I hope this week goes in quick!!

EverydayIsPJday · 14/02/2022 09:24

That's it I've caved and called the gp this morning. I can't stand the nausea any more. Every time I stand up I feel like I'm going to fall down..I've just cried once getting back from the school run with the buggy 😣 I know I am being a horrible mum right now. It was definitely never this bad with first two, so I have to try something. Work assessment next week which I'm never going to get through the way things are 🙁🙁🙁 feeling very low today

KatBee121 · 14/02/2022 09:46

God this nausea is driving me nuts now. Don't know how those of you that have other kids to look after even manage! 😳 Im 10 weeks today and after I had a good few days around the 9 week mark I mistakenly thought I was past the peak...seems to have returned with a vengeance over these last few days just to prove a point 🙄 barely making it off the sofa! And nothing I eat makes any difference. I'm just praying it's gone in a couple of weeks time as we've had a skiing trip planned...which I'm thoroughly dreading right now as it's a really long car journey there and back...I get travel sickness too so this could be real interesting 😬😂

annlee3817 · 14/02/2022 10:02

@KatBee121 that's when it really peaked for me, felt absolutely dreadful that week, it is starting to slightly ease off, only slightly though, am 12+1 today according to measurements

Was having a bit of a panic about my scan as it was at 3pm and it meant asking someone to have dd after school on a Friday (and having to explain!) and my dd really does get so tired and emotional and I'm not sure that on a Friday would be a great idea. Anyway I called and they've changed me to 12 so I'll have to leave work early but I am ok with that!! And means I can still get back to her.

Dreamer30 · 14/02/2022 10:07

Sorry to those of you suffering with nausea, mine comes and goes. One minute I'm rocking back and forth on the sofa, the next I'm eating like a pig 😅 I find it's so much worse at work (school kitchen) with all the smells and I need to take breaks to sit down. Thankfully I'm off until Wednesday for the Feb break - I'm in Scotland.
Just had my booking appointment with the midwife and she was lovely 😊 unfortunately over the phone, so bloods etc will be done at my 12w scan which is booked for 11th March. All feels more real now! She also told me to rub my belly and talk to baby even if it feels silly with them being so small, but said it helps with brain development.. and to play them music lol definitely does feel silly considering that my 'bump' is just my flabby belly atm 🤣

Glitterygreen · 14/02/2022 10:32

Morning everyone,

Has anyone had occasional pink discharge? I seem to be getting a tiny bit maybe every 10 days or so?

I had a scan at 7ish weeks (nearly 10 weeks now) as I had a pink wipe and thought it was the start of a miscarriage but all was fine, saw heartbeat etc. Since then I've had 2 instances of the slightest bit of pink discharge when wiping after a wee. Midwife didn't seem to think anything of it when I mentioned it at my booking appointment last week, and I know it's just a case of wait and see anyway, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same?

PS. So sorry for everyone experiencing really rough nausea and vomiting. I have nausea but it goes as soon as I eat, and I'm really hoping it stays that way.

Peauela · 14/02/2022 12:16

Morning! I'm 8+5 today and finally my second scan is Monday evening! I can't wait!

Have you been thinking about names yet? I know it's extremely early but many people have favorite names picked even before getting pregnant 😀

IzzyLeigh · 14/02/2022 12:39

Sorry, I was basically asleep all weekend and so I might be a little delayed on things, but I still wanted to respond now that I'm caught up!

@Moonshine160 congrats on the scan! So glad everything is okay! Please keep up posted as now I’m pretty invested in you and your little one Smile

@mummysept22 SAME. I’m completely sickened by veggies and so I’ve just been eating so much bread and starch. I feel like I’ve gained so much weight already Sad But I’m hoping to do what @madeleine85 mentioned and cram in as many veggies as possible into my second trimester. Hopefully.

@Carebear99 How are you today? I know it’s alarming, but it might be normal. You’re about 10 weeks right? Symptoms tend to taper off towards the end of the first, so you're getting closer to that. Also, I think the heartrate tends to start slowing down a little bit around weeks 9 and 10 and then settle down to I think about 140ish?

@surprised12 congrats on that absolutely gorgeous scan! I can’t wait to see my little one moving about too! What is everyone else doing with their scans right now? I'm getting special cute magnets this week and I'm going to put all of them on the fridge so we can track growth and see how far we've come. Then maybe make a big album once baby is here?

@Glitterygreen funny you mention this now. I had a bit last night. Just once. Same thing last week, just the once. Each time it brings back panic thinking that my 5-week spotting is about start again, but thankfully they just seem to be one-offs, thank goodness. Let’s hope they stay that way

@Peauela good luck with your scan! And yes, I’ve been compiling lists of names for years. Really helps as now I look back at some and think "ew, really?" haha I think we’ve got it pretty narrowed down now though. You?

@girafferafferaffe hope you feel better soon!

Carebear99 · 14/02/2022 12:42

Hi @IzzyLeigh, I'm 10w2d.
I had my nipt today and was scanned a day ahead (should have been 10w1d). I had the IONA, was told I'll best back hopefully on Friday. I'm OK just bet anxious! How are you? Hope far along are you?

Moonshine160 · 14/02/2022 12:53

@IzzyLeigh thank you so much! I will keep you updated xx

And thanks everyone for all the support! Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling/being sick. I’ve been feeling quite rough too but mine seems to peak in the evenings instead of the morning!

@Glitterygreen I had pink and brown discharge last week. Mine turned into red blood and yet all is still fine thank goodness. With my DS I had pink discharge from weeks 7-9 and again at 24 weeks. I think it’s really common so try not to panic xx

annlee3817 · 14/02/2022 13:21

Glad the NIPT scan was ok @Carebear99

Just had my first midwife appointment. She was absolutely lovely and wasn't judgey at all but I'm now petrified after hearing Im high risk across all categories due to age (35) and high BMI. I am hypothyroid which was only recently diagnosed. I tried desperately to lose weight before conceiving but it was so hard and I didn't want to delay due any longer to age and previous MC. I suppose I'm just after reassurance really!! Had nightmares about the 12 week screening last night 😩 X

Carebear99 · 14/02/2022 13:43

How far along are you @mummysept22?

I'm 39 with a high bmi, unexpectedly pregnant. I've had a scan today and my nipt at 10w2d

IzzyLeigh · 14/02/2022 14:24

@Carebear99 I’m glad everything sounds on track! Good luck with the NIPT and IONA! Are you expected to get the results of both on Friday or is that just for the IONA? And I don’t blame you for being anxious. I’ll likely be losing my mind from the anxiety when my time comes for those too. I’m a fair bit behind you, 8w 2d today.

@mummysept22 so glad your first midwife appointment went well!

mummysept22 · 14/02/2022 14:38

@Carebear99 hey!! I am about 8 + 2. I had an early scan at 6+5 and booked another for this Saturday. I am just sooooo worried about everything 😩 x

Carebear99 · 14/02/2022 14:43

@IzzyLeigh the nipt is the IONA test. NIPT is a non invasive prenatal test, there are different providers eg. harmony, vision, iona.

IzzyLeigh · 14/02/2022 14:53

@Carebear99 ohhh haha shows how much I know! I knew what the NIPT was but had never heard of IONA before. I thought they were two separate tests! Whoops. Apologies for my naiveté

Carebear99 · 14/02/2022 14:57

Not at all. This is all new to me too, I last had a baby 21 years ago when I was 18.

Iona seems good, quick turn around time and requires less fetal fraction

EverydayIsPJday · 14/02/2022 15:01

Hi all. I've had my GP appointment. I've been given some anti sickness meds, I'm about to pick them up. GP is referring me for a screening of blood tests, he thinks I'm deficient in something. I literally can't stand for more than about 10 minutes without feeling faint and I have been drinking lots of fluids (and eating things like soup etc) but my tongue is cracking and bleeding each morning when I wake because my mouth is so dry. It's also scalloped around the edges. Slightly terrified as it can be a b12 deficiency which is the one which can cause neural tube defects during pregnancy 😔 my head is spinning.

Has anyone had anything like this? I don't have the test until Wednesday as Its one I have to fast for (can't wait for that vom fest..).

I'm 7+4 today

Isonthecase · 14/02/2022 15:01

Just had my 12 week scan and moved a few days earlier so looks like this is probably an August baby after all! Bit of a relief as I was NOT looking forwards to an extra year of childcare costs 😱
So I'll be here on August 31st when it still hasn't arrived and half of yours have already 😂
Hoping to stick around as think there's a few of us on the cusp?

Isonthecase · 14/02/2022 15:04

@EverydayIsPJday I had a b12 deficiency last pregnancy in the third trimester but not sure when it started, toddler nearly 2 and absolutely fine 😊 they actually didn't seem that bothered but I've been taking b12 tablets this time round just in case, think I recommended the energy effervescent ones you can dissolve in water before? If you can keep water down you should be able to stomach them and they contain folic acid too.

EverydayIsPJday · 14/02/2022 15:15

Thank you @Isonthecase. In looked at boots for those but couldn't find them in store. Is it these?
