@Moonshine160 did they say if they could see any bleeding on your scan?

@Hopingforarainbow27 omg! Congrats! Wowwwww

girafferafferaffe · 10/02/2022 17:31

@Moonshine160 bless you that sounds so stressful :( I hope that they'll agree to help you soon

Moonshine160 · 10/02/2022 17:36

The reason I went in the first place was because of pink spotting and they couldn’t see anywhere on the scan where that could be coming from, everything looked ok and no reason for bleeding. I did find the scan quite uncomfortable and sore. I just don’t know what to do with myself. They close at 6pm so I’ll have to wait till the morning if no improvement.

Dreamer30 · 10/02/2022 19:00

Sorry if tmi ladies, but is diarrhoea common in early pregnancy?
8w+4d and had really strong stabbing pains in my tummy so thought it was trapped wind again but it's worse than that 🙈 just checking in case it's something to worry about

IzzyLeigh · 10/02/2022 19:05

@Dreamer30 Is it just today or has it been recurring?

Dreamer30 · 10/02/2022 19:19
@Dreamer30 Is it just today or has it been recurring?
It's only been the once today, still feel iffy so I don't think it's the end of it. I haven't had anything odd to eat etc so don't think it's a bug, I feel well otherwise

IzzyLeigh · 10/02/2022 19:30

@Dreamer30, hmm I wouldn't be too concerned unless it continues. Apparently all these lovely hormones could be responsible for that annoyance, especially in the first trimester. Sucks to have to deal with though, so hopefully it's just a one-off. Drink a ton of water just in case. You can also have some bland, stool firming foods like bananas, rice, apple sauce, and toast (that's what my gastroenterologists tell me to have whenever I'm having a bad ulcerative colitis flare—they call is the BRAT diet)

Dreamer30 · 10/02/2022 19:33

@IzzyLeigh thank you! I've been constipated for weeks and now this 😅 can't win! Thank you for the advice. Curled up in a ball with a glass of water by my side. Hoping all my symptoms pass at 12 weeks like they did with my daughter!

ShiningStarz · 10/02/2022 20:11

@Moonshine160 it's so much easier said and done but put your feet up and be confident that your body knows what is has to do. I miscarried at 5.5 weeks a few years ago, the bleeding was very obvious and continuous (enough to need a liner).
I agree with others mentioning the cervix especially after an internal, cervix is super soft now your pregnant. My fingers are crossed for you.

ShiningStarz · 10/02/2022 20:14

Sorry to hear this @IzzyLeigh I hope you get the support and advice you need to w
Get you through the fully 9 months 🥰

Wow @Hopingforarainbow27 amazing!! 2 little miracles 🥰🥰

I'm feeling nauseous again, haven't eaten since lunchtime. Never had this with my daughter! Half thinking what if I'm having twins now 😂😂

madeleine85 · 10/02/2022 20:55

omg @Moonshine160 I really hope you are ok. Sending all the love and luck in the world your way. I know it might not help you feel better, but my sister had 2 massive bleeds with clots that were like periods. Her child is 1.5 now and it was all ok. They never found a reason for it. Glad the scan was ok today, and like someone else said, you shouldn't feel bad about asking to go back if this is still happening tomorrow. Please take care of yourself x

@Hopingforarainbow27 and @Pinkflamingofly that is fantastic news/utterly terrifying/fantastic :)

I just had my NIPT results back, all low risk and it is definitely a boy. The sneakpeak test was correct! As I am 36 going 37 I was a little worried about the NIPT so I am breathing a sigh of relief!

IzzyLeigh · 10/02/2022 21:00

@Dreamer30 I hope you start feeling better ASAP!

@madeleine85 yay! congrats!! Were you hoping for a boy? So happy for you that everything is good!

@ShiningStarz you're such a sweetheart! thank you so much lovely Flowers

Moonshine160 · 10/02/2022 21:22

Thanks @ShiningStarz and @madeleine85

The bleeding hasn’t tailed off yet but it isn’t any worse and no noticeable clots. Hoping for the best but tbh expecting the worst x

madeleine85 · 10/02/2022 21:39

@IzzyLeigh honestly I was 50/50 on the sex. A girl would have been easier as we have all the things and we know what we are doing. My DH also was very vocal about wanting another girl, so i'm glad it is him that made it a boy! On the flip side, our girl has a huge personality, and I think it might be hard to follow in her footsteps a bit, so this may be better. Can't change it now, and because we did sneakpeak I had a few weeks to adjust to what it likely was. I didn't feel sick this time like I did with DD so I also just "felt different" and I am so glad, because I couldn't do 16 weeks in bed sleeping/throwing up with an active toddler, so this is probably a good thing :)

IzzyLeigh · 10/02/2022 21:50

@madeleine85 Glad that you're feeling better this time around. Maybe there is some truth to that old wives tale of boys causing less morning sickness than girls? At least in this case anyway Wink
How did your DH take the news?

girafferafferaffe · 10/02/2022 22:01

I didn't get any sickness at all with dd (nor this one either) so I do wonder what causes it!

ShiningStarz · 10/02/2022 22:05

@madeleine85 I'm very new boys about the NIPT. I'm 39, almost 40.. I'll have it done week after next (11 weeks). 🤞🤞

ShiningStarz · 10/02/2022 22:05

Nervous !! Not new boys 🙈🙈

madeleine85 · 10/02/2022 22:39

@IzzyLeigh I think it just depends on the person tbh. The sickness seems to run in my family. My sister had it really badly, as did my cousins who all had boys. I have a friend who is 9 months and having a girl and had none. She has been glowing since day 1 and clearly is meant to be a mum. Pregnancy just "suits her". Whereas I look like death, am currently having to use industrial strength cleansers to deal with breakouts, can't look at certain foods, and am a bit of a general mess. Though if I was having a girl, i'd be a complete trainwreck I suspect. Really hoping that all goes fine and this is my final first trimester ever :). My husband honestly is kind of annoying me about the baby's sex. He is the kind of person to not react to news until it is absolutely certain, so i think next week at the 12 week scan, there will be a real reaction, so that feels like a real milestone. When he was a child he tried to name is baby brother "junk" so he jokes that this is "junk" this time around. He isn't trying to be insensitive, but it is coming off that way. At some point when he isn't solo parenting our 2 year old while I sleep, and i'm out of the first trimester exhaustion I need to talk to him about it. Do you know yet if you are expecting a boy vs girl? How do you feel about it?

@ShiningStarz lol. The autocorrect fails and non edit capabilities of mumsnet. Good luck for your test! It honestly does feel good to know, even if it isn't definite. Just one less thing that might go wrong, and I like definitely knowing the sex of the baby for connecting with them a bit.

IzzyLeigh · 10/02/2022 23:05

@madeleine85 I don't actually put stock in those old wives tales, but they sure make it fun to speculate! And I see what you mean about your husband's joking. I'm sure it's all good-natured and light to him, but I think it would bug me too as it's something you obviously can't control and "junk," even though it is a joke from his childhood, does kind of sting a little (not to mention all the pregnancy hormones make us all a little less patient with things like that haha).
And I'm still too early to know (7w5d). I think there are some pros and cons to both, so I'm not gunning hard for one over the other.
My husband will be happy with a boy, but he definitely has a preference for a girl (which I think is so adorable!). I think a boy could be easier in a lot of ways, but I have a family history of some violent mental illness that seems to only impact the boys and men in my family, so that has me leaning a little more towards a girl as well.
I have no way of knowing, but I do keep catching myself thinking of my little bean as a girl though, so maybe I am more partial than I'd like to believe?

annlee3817 · 10/02/2022 23:09

@madeleine85 how long did it take for your results to come back? I'm impatiently waiting for mine and hoping I hear by Monday which will be 7 days 🤞

@IzzyLeigh that is so nice that he is just excited. 12 week scans will roll around before you know it :)
