Just jumping on the new thread :)

Hi everyone, I am due baby number 5 on the 4th of September! I just turned 40 at the begining of the year and this was a real shock to find out I was pregnant! Our eldest is almost 23, our middle is almost 17, we lost our 3rd baby to sids at 3 weeks of age, she would of been 16 this year and our youngest is almost 14! I am diabetic and have a few health conditions so am being monitored completely, I am currently getting celexine injections daily. I had a scan last week and wee ones heart was beating strong! I am getting another scan on the 22/02 and am really excited!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/02/2022 08:32

@mummysept22 not much really. A bit tired. But I have a toddler so I'm always tired! Ha! The occasional cramps but that's about it!

ERachD · 02/02/2022 08:45

Hey everyone :) please may I join (I know I'm late to the party!) based on my last af I'm due around 25th September. I got my bfp a few weeks ago!

How are you all doing? I'm unbelievably anxious. I think i felt ovulation from both sides the month we conceived and I'm nervous about the possibility of twins! I've booked an early scan next Sunday (7 weeks) to settle my nerves!

What symptoms are you all experiencing? The sickness has just started and MY GOD I'm struggling to cope with it!

Mags146 · 02/02/2022 09:05

Hi ladies! I was wondering if you feel like your cervix is more sensitive and bit painful? I had an odd feeling, very odd sensation of burning and pinching in my cervix last after peeing (it wasn't my urethra). Got me worried a bit 😯

Isonthecase · 02/02/2022 09:06

I'd recommend the b vitamins, I switched to one containing folic acid too and it's a fizzy tablet thing you put in water from boots. Can have it whenever with no nausea!

annlee3817 · 02/02/2022 09:07

Congrats @mummylou1982 and @ERachD

Morning everyone I hope you are all ok today, and a hello and congratulations to all the new posters 😊

I'm an absolute bag of nerves today. I tested abit earlier than I said I would and got my 3 weeks + (I'm 5+6) so I've bit the bullet and called to book in with the midwife. I didn't want to do it any earlier as I couldn't bear last year calling to cancel after the MC.

So that's it, I'm officially on the road....😬

reality has hit. I can't believe I might be having a third baby 🙈 I'm excited but now absolutely terrified. I know it's normal to feel that but my god. I've just had a little cry.

Fingers crossed everyone has a low nausea day 🤞🤞🤞

EverydayIsPJday · 02/02/2022 09:51

Thanks @Isonthecase I am going to look at vitamins today.

EverydayIsPJday · 02/02/2022 09:54

@Isonthecase could you link to the vits please as I can't find the fizzy thing Smile

monkeyjocks · 02/02/2022 11:02

@PuffyCupcake I'm glad you got a scan booked. Good luck tomorrow! Flowers

When is appropriate time to tell work? I'm a PE teacher in large secondary school?

I told my boss last week just because I felt like I'd been hit by a bus and it's REALLY not like me to flag at work and I just wanted her to know why. You could tell your line manager and say you'd like to keep it quiet?
MedbN · 02/02/2022 12:46

@whatelsecouldibecalled I'm also a secondary teacher - science rather than PE. I decided to tell work sooner rather than later so that they are aware and could out risk assessment in place.

Mags146 · 02/02/2022 12:52

I wanted to tell them at the beginning on March when I reach 11 weeks and have my 1to1 with my manager. However I might need to tell them earlier as they have asked me to go on site and do some heavy lifting (I used my back as an excuse)....

Peauela · 02/02/2022 13:38

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I'm planning to tell mine in two weeks, I'll be 9 weeks then. I would wait until 12 weeks but I prefer to tell him sooner as I'm his PA and he will need to put a plan in place for when I'm on maternity / he needs to know I may need some days off for medical appointments etc.

Kroot · 02/02/2022 16:14

Hi ladies,

Finally plucking up some courage to post on here, though I’ve been lurking for a few weeks.

I’ve had a MMC and an early miscarriage in the past, so this is my third pregnancy. With the first, we found on 12 week scan that the baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. I’m so nervous this time round! I keep over-analysing every single twitch and symptom, and constantly checking my underwear for spotting or blood. It’s a bit crazy really.

I’ve had an early scan this pregnancy, and we saw a lovely little heartbeat at what I thought was just about 7 weeks but they said I was measuring between 5-6weeks. This was a week ago.
I’ve had sore boobs and nausea, but for the last two days they’re both reduced in intensity. They’re both now really mild. I’ve also been reading about increased discharge etc - I’ve had none of this, anyone else?!
I have another scan tomorrow (booking appointment has come through, and says there’s a scan with it too), and I’m now terrified as this was the stage my first little bean stopped growing.

Kroot · 02/02/2022 16:14

And yes, I ugly cried when I saw the heartbeat 😂

110APiccadilly · 02/02/2022 16:16

I'm going to tell work after my 12 week scan. Although I've had to tell one (very organised) colleague as he asked me if I'd be up for helping with something in the autumn! Fortunately it's someone I trust not to gossip. Otherwise I suppose I'd have made some feeble excuse.

annlee3817 · 02/02/2022 16:18

@kroot congratulations, hope all goes well with the scan tomorrow, I'm not surprised you've been nervous

@Kroot good luck with the scan! I’ll be thinking of ya Flowers

madeleine85 · 02/02/2022 16:45

@Kroot congratulations!! Re. the increased mucus, everyone is different. I have more this pregnancy, I don't really remember any last time around. In fact, it did start increasing last time when I started going into early labour, so every time I see it now, I completely panic and wish it were not there. I really do think no 2 of us are alike with regards to this, so just trust your body. There was a better one somewhere in this thread, but there is a statistical odds of misscarriage by week website, (here is another datayze.com/miscarriage-chart). It did actually make me feel a bit reassured to see it in black and white. Hoping it helps you. I think once you've seen there is a heartbeat, the odds are really in your favour though, which is so great x

PrettyTulip · 02/02/2022 17:36

I feel so bad atm. I am constantly hungry and the only things I generally want to eat is junk food. Hubby is on his way to McDs as I type this.
I've told him we need to go on a serious health kick cos it's not good but honestly why is it all the bad foods that I want atm 🥺😩😩

TotoAnnihiliation · 02/02/2022 18:39

Don't worry @PrettyTulip - I've been living in McDonald's this week. Except today I am now repulsed by it. I can't think of anything that doesn't repulse me.

Any one else got a vile taste in their mouth? Any tips of getting rid of it?

PrettyTulip · 02/02/2022 18:46

@TotoAnnihiliation thanks chick. I'll try not to worry but it's so hard! 😩
