Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

Thank you for the reassurance!

With my daughter I was nowhere near as tired as well 😑
Don't have any sore boobs but I am BF so hard to notice at this stage...

Last time morning sickness hit me hard from 7 weeks.... hoping it won't be the case this time.

I take normal prenatal and additional iron and folic acid and obviously overthinking everything. I stopped my morning coffee though...

SunnySideUp2020 · 01/02/2022 12:08

@123walrus I booked a gynecologist appointment for 15th feb I will be 6weeks... which I know is way too early for any scan but because my lmp is so far back (thanks BF). They will think I am 8w by then.

Anyway if you know exactly how far along you are you can self refer after 7 weeks i think.

mistyrae · 01/02/2022 12:14

I’m pretty sure they come in 3 packs for £10 or £12! Sizes are S, M, L etc too so I find there’s more room in them!

mistyrae · 01/02/2022 12:16

This is my first pregnancy and I didn’t really know what I was meant to do. I found out at around 5weeks and called my GP who told me the process as I had to self refer to the hospital and then was told to call the midwives after 6 weeks x

scottishsunshine96 · 01/02/2022 12:22

@imfm It's so nice to read about other people in the same boat isn't it. This is my partner and I's first baby and we've been trying for over a year, so definitely on the anxious side too. Currently just taking vitamins- is everyone else cutting out caffeine completely? I'm still having my morning cup of tea but not sure if it's best to go cold turkey?

Samthenanny · 01/02/2022 12:39

@scottishsunshine96 what vitamins are you taking?
I’m only taking folic acid with vit b added

I’ve mostly cut out caffeine, my morning coffee on the drive into work started to taste strange so I don’t bother now and I’ve switched to decaf tea which is fine tbh. I did have 1 coffee on Saturday morning after a few hours of being awake.

Samthenanny · 01/02/2022 12:42

@123walrus I’ll be 5 weeks on Friday and have been thinking the same, GP said to self refer but no indication as to a time frame.
I might refer next week when I’ll be 6 weeks then there’s 2 weeks to sort a appointment for the 8 week booking in

SunnySideUp2020 · 01/02/2022 12:47

Ok nvd my line progression. My cheapies are awful. Just sent DH to get me normal 25miu clearblue and this is the result. Like with my DD at 13dpo. Feel so relieved!

@Samthenanny I just got the pregnacare brand because it said it has everything in it needed for pregnancy.
I must admit I used to look forward to my morning cup of tea but the thought doesn't always appeal to me now, so might not have it everyday!

Samthenanny · 01/02/2022 13:10

@scottishsunshine96 I’ll get some thanks.

It’s weird isn’t it, my need for a coffee has been replaced with cloudy apple juice 🤣

syda · 01/02/2022 13:27

I spoke to our GP this morning, she didnt think anything extra was necessary (after a MC, as only had one. Asked about progesterone and aspirin), but I did get the higher dose folic acid which I wanted (high bmi). Also taking vitamin D.
After 12 weeks I'll change to normal pregnancy vitamins (probably asda ones as they're affordable).

Sadly havent got larger boobs or even sore boobs, but as pp mentioned im also still breastfeeding so could be due to this.

Getting occasional waves of nausea and some cramping too.

If all well I think I'll call the gp next week to arrange a midwife appointment for 8 weeks x

JulietOscar · 01/02/2022 13:40

@yellowdot definitely nice news! It just doesn’t feel real though! My DH and I were never really sure about kids but I think that’s just because we didn’t feel “ready”. I was starting to think that we might never feel ready enough to decide to start TTC though so I actually think it happening this way is for the best! I think I’m around 5 weeks.

@123walrus I think I’ll aim to self refer this week. I was told it might take a couple of weeks to hear back so I guess it’s best to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later!

Nikki037297 · 01/02/2022 13:53

@SunnySideUp2020 this is my line progression from 11dpo until 16dpo today, I have taken more than one a day sometimes 3 per day as I’m super worried due to my previous chemical pregnancies

Due October 2022
123walrus · 01/02/2022 13:58

Thanks for everyone’s comments about when to refer. Going to hold out until 6-ish week scan and if that shows something (I still find it hard to believe tbh) I’ll call.

Nikki037297 · 01/02/2022 14:18

@123walrus I am
Also waiting for my 6 week scan before I call
My dr, I’m going to book a scan for the day I turn 6 weeks which is about 12 days away which feels like forever lol

123walrus · 01/02/2022 14:49

@Nikki037297 It feels like another 2ww!

Aubyone · 01/02/2022 15:33

I'm sure you guys are right about waiting til 6weeks or whenever you feel comfortable but just to give my experience - I phoned GP at 4w, got given a booking phone number where you leave a message and they get back to you. I said my dates and that I was only 4w3 days but nonetheless she returned the call today and scheduled my booking appointments (1 on phone for details/discussion and 1 a couple days later in person for blood pressure/bmi etc) on 15th and 18th Feb - I'll only be 6w1 and 6w3. I asked if I had called 'too early' and she said not at all, good to get you booked in - but I know in some other areas they won't let you even book until 6weeks! But anyone who is impatient and wants it booked in, maybe give it a shot?

This way I feel like I've got something in at nice intervals as gonna have book apps at 6w, private scan at 8w and then NHS scan at 12 weeks. They've also even sent me through date and time for 16w appt, so for a planner like me this is ideal!

Samthenanny · 01/02/2022 15:41

@Aubyone that’s good to know thank you and that’s amazing you’ve got appointments already for your 12 & 16w scans, this would be so helpful to have for DP and his diary.
Roughly what area are you in? If you don’t mind me asking and no worries if you don’t want to say

Aubyone · 01/02/2022 15:45

@Samthenanny no problem - Cambridgeshire.

I have heard from others that some areas literally won't let you refer unless you can tick a box saying you are 6weeks, so it does vary. But yes from a scheduling point of view it's a relief because I have weird work hours/need to schedule things as far in advance as poss!

Also phone GP to see if they had any flu jab clinics running and she scheduled me for 8.40am tomorrow.

I must say, there must be something working well in our area because we also had great luck with really speedy fertility testing/consultations over last few months (were struggling to conceive) - we were seen really quickly compared to people on MN from other areas. So I'm feeling pretty lucky!

KirstyJayne82 · 01/02/2022 15:48

I just found out I'm expecting - by dates I think due around 18 October- eek! I have a 3 year old son and will be 40 on 17 October so I'm delighted to have one more. Feeling a bit nauseous but nothing crazy. In work but now very distracted having just done the tests today!

Nikki037297 · 01/02/2022 15:53

@KirstyJayne82 congratulations!

Fruby · 01/02/2022 15:58

I’ve had a surprise BFP! Partner and I planned to start trying in January, but only managed twice due to covid / travelling / family visits. Was very surprised when my period failed to arrive. This is our second and was no where near as quick first time.

I’ve felt totally normal so far. Maybe a little more tired but I’ve been super active doing decorating, DIY & heavy lifting.

I keep forgetting I’m pregnant and part of me doesn’t even want to let myself believe it yet!

My body seems to want lots of sleep & healthy food, not easy when you’re a frazzled working toddler mum! Hehe.

Hoping it’s a smooth 9 months for everyone!

Fruby · 01/02/2022 15:59

Congrats!

Leibee87 · 01/02/2022 17:15

Congratulations @KirstyJayne82 and @Fruby.

I rang Dr's the day after I found out they booked me in straight away for my 8wk appt.

It's good that you've got those appt dates already. I'm quite lucky in that my work is pretty flexible but it would be good for dh as he would have to finish early.

I am so tired today, already had a massive nap but need to do chores. How you ladies do this with a child to look after already I don't know haha. Super women.
