Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

Sex question. I absolutely know the answer to this. But I need reassurance. Very early days for me (literally 14/15 days PO). BFP a few days ago. DH and I having sex. Implantation / very early pregnancy no issues right? It's one of those niggly things in my head where if I suddenly started bleeding, I'd think that it was the sex that caused it. But it can't. Right?!

thirrrdtimesacharm · 13/02/2022 23:48

It absolutely is possible! I had bleeding post-sex early in my pregnancy with my first. Now she’s a happy and healthy 7 yo :)

Yellowdott · 14/02/2022 04:27

@summerlovingvibes It's absolutely fine. However, when I had sex last week I bled afterwards and it scared me so no more until my early scan at 7+5 in 2 weeks!

If that wouldn't faze you, go for it! It's totally safe (unless a doctor told you it isn't) Smile

summerlovingvibes · 14/02/2022 05:30

Thanks ladies. 🤞.

Jfb23 · 14/02/2022 05:44

@Diamondbabe @Hannahbobs @Dorset555 my little girls slightly older so she's 20 months now. She is no longer a messy easter and no longer drops more food than eats 😂 she can get her pants down, just working on the top. There is hope ladies! Have you guys thought about prams? Will you be getting a double pram?

Margo34 · 14/02/2022 06:38

@Dorset555 @Hannahbobs @Diamondbabe My LO will have just turned 2 if new baby arrives on time, if they arrive a smidge early then I'll also have 2 under 2! This boggles my brain. I mean I'm pretty sure toddler brain is a thing just like baby brain, my irrational worry at snack time yesterday was "what 8f I'm so busy with baby that I forget to feed the toddler?!" Then I remembered my toddler is very very loud and none stop chatty and would never let me forget 😂

Still, practicalities of 2 so young just baffles me!

Dorset555 · 14/02/2022 07:37

@jfb23 THANK YOU you have brightened up my day!! Maybe it's all going to be OK 😅
@diamondbabe I was looking at those buggy boards so hopefully can attach that to current pram for the toddler...looks fun?!
@margo34 loving the solidarity here..we can do this...right?! I'm also getting pangs of mum guilt that I won't be able to give my first child all the attention and enjoy every moment of her...but I guess I will it will just be 'enhanced' by a smaller noisy thing?!
Hope everyone's feeling well and ready for the week ahead of pretending not to be pregnant at work 😂

JuniperAndTonic · 14/02/2022 08:01

Morning everyone! 2 under 2! Cant even imagine it, but it will be lovely for them to be close in age. This will be my first baby (all being well) so I’m jsut trying to get my head around how I’m even going to look after 1 tiny human - literally clueless 😂

HRHXO · 14/02/2022 08:20

@JuniperAndTonic I'm with you! Number 1 for us too and no idea how to look after babies I feel so useless and clueless I've never really even babysat or looked after my nephews and nieces! I'm also so confused over all the stuff I'll need! Trying not to overthink it at this stage since it's so early but all the furniture, car seats, prams, bed, changing things, bottles, clothes etc is overwhelming! Trying to process just one day at a time for now rather than thinking about what I'll need to buy/learn later on 😬

I've had mild diarrhea almost every day this past week, nothing really bad but still quite unpleasant- I expected the opposite in early pregnancy, currently 5+2 I think.

Hope42022 · 14/02/2022 08:40

@HRHXO and @JuniperAndTonic this will be my first too. I made the mistake of googling what babies need and the price of some of the gear and it freaked me out a bit. I’ll deal with that further down the line haha.

I’m starting to feel more tired and emotional. Also, on my morning run I got the sorest boobs and nipples which I’ve never had before. Things are starting to feel real!

JuniperAndTonic · 14/02/2022 08:48

@HRHXO @Hope42022 haha, time to get saving!! Luckily I have a sister who has 3 young kids so I know I’ve got lots of hand me downs coming my way and she’s done it all first so at least I can go to her for advice 😂 I’m sure it’s a normal feeling for first time parents and we’ll figure it out (somehow)!

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 14/02/2022 08:54

I'm abit feisty today ! Nearly got mowed down on the school run by someone on an electric bike and it's really pissed me off 😆

jadew88 · 14/02/2022 09:09

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits ah man my rage is REAL! I was driving out of a supermarket the other day and a group of teenage lads walked into the road in front of me and one stuck his middle finger up and told me to "f* off" (delightful), and I had so much rage I wound my window down and started screaming at him, then nearly drove round the roundabout to come back and give him a piece of my mind 😂 managed to stop myself but lord the rage inside me!

Dorset555 · 14/02/2022 09:11

I have to say 2nd time round is so so so much less overwhelming. I really found the first time so much to deal with mentally let alone physically. All I would say is its so true that no one knows how to do- everyone's winging it and of course being prepared is good but at the end of the day all babies need is love and milk! Xx

Leibee87 · 14/02/2022 09:12

I'm a first timer too. Held my friends 3 week old last week and looked like I'd never held a baby in my life (I had but probably not one so tiny)
I have started googling things a baby might need too. My husband is a paraplegic so uses a wheelchair so looking at how to adapt bits and pieces too. Suddenly gets v. Expensive. Got awhile to save 😂.

What a little shit !! 🤣🤣 I can imagine how you felt though I'd have been the same !
I'm really argumentative aswell. My dp got in my way in the kitchen the other day and I was seething 😳 so irrational

LondonladyTTC · 14/02/2022 09:43

I'm a first timer too 😀 it is all very exciting but nerve wracking! Although VERY early, I feel like I hit a bit of a milestone today as it's official IVF testing date, went for a beta test this morning but have been getting positive tests since last Tuesday.

Mamamoo1234 · 14/02/2022 12:23

Hey everyone Smile I hope it’s okay to join the thread. I’m 35 and found on Thursday that I’m expecting my 3rd baby. Never thought I’d have another after getting divorced 5 years ago so it’s all so surreal to be starting again.
I think I’m 4 weeks but not 100% as we caught straight away after I came off the pill. So possibly looking at around 22nd October due date.

Congratulations to everyone on here, I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you all xx

Welcome and congrats to the ladies who have recently got their BFP’s! Here is the link to our Facebook group which is both private and invisible for anyone who wants to join fb.me/g/2OAUFfsHt/1VdcHR2b

grosgirl · 14/02/2022 13:56

Hi everyone! 22nd October due date here. Had a miscarriage last year so feeling a bit anxious about it all.

mam2b89 · 14/02/2022 14:02

@handbagsandholidays

I had an early scan yesterday due to cramping. I should have been 5+4. All that could be seen was a gestational sac which the sonographer said was measuring 'about 5 weeks'. I know my dates are right as I miscarried on Christmas Eve. I didn't have a period and then had a positive pregnancy test on 18th Jan. I've become so stressed with worry as there was no yolk sac or anything visible on yesterdays scan. Im to go back again in 2 weeks but I'm absolutely terrified that it will be a blighted ovum or something similar. 😔
@handbagsandholidays i feel your pain. I had a "reassurance" scan at what should been 8 weeks since my last menstrual period. The consultant said that I was measuring around 4 weeks. I have a repeat scan on the 22nd feb (2 weeks later) and i am an absolute mess. I had a miscarriage in December and this little bub was conceived two weeks later. I am hoping thy rogue hormones are to blame and that we will see a heartbeat on the 22nd xx
HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel · 14/02/2022 14:20

I'm six weeks tomorrow and no symptoms yet. My first pregnancy with my son I didn't find out until I was 11 weeks so it's difficult to compare.

maybein2022 · 14/02/2022 14:47

Hi all,

Congratulations to all the new BFPs and so, so sorry to hear about some losses too. Flowers

Is anyone else massively suffering with anxiety? I already have two older children, and was much younger when I had them. Although I had awful deliveries, my pregnancies were mostly straightforward and I can’t remember being particularly worried or anxious, probably because I was a lot younger!

This time round, I’m much older, although 37 is still not that old I know, and have a couple of risk factors. This pregnancy was a surprise, but so, so wanted. I am driving myself bad overanalysing every twinge, every symptom etc, almost convincing myself something will go wrong. I have a scan booked for two weeks on Friday when I should be around 7 + 3. Has anyone got any words of wisdom? It’s not tipping over into any kind of depression or anything, but I just can’t relax at all about it.

Hope everyone is ok.

HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel · 14/02/2022 14:53

I'm super anxious too. I told myself I wouldn't be as anxious as I was with my first pregnancy but I already am.

I'm trying not too be. My son is 7 now so it's been a long time, but I don't remember really worrying ? I was young though so quite naive I think to what can go wrong. I think I did one test and then just happily waited til my 12 week scan. This is a suprise pregnancy after failed ivf and an ivf mmc. But I've told myself it's happened for a reason so trying to hold onto the hope. I've booked a scan in for when I'll be 8 weeks too. All I can say is just try and embrace it, no amount of us worrying will change the outcome! I've had to tell myself that. Before the mmc I was just obsessing constantly and googling, testing etc, I literally drove myself barmy! That's not healthy !
