Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

Sorry to hear about all the losses, look after yourselves.

@JuniperAndTonic
The nausea is really getting to me too. I can't stand the smell of any cooking, it makes me want to gag.

This is new to me as I never had any of it with my first.

Can anyone recommend things that can help?

HRHXO · 13/02/2022 13:28

So so sorry to hear about the losses Flowers

I can't sleep at night I just wake up constantly tossing and turning. Just put a whole chicken in the oven and then forgot to set a timer and fell asleep on the sofa... no idea how long the chicken has been in now! Also still getting cramps, lower back ache, achey boobs and alight nausea 😵 only 5+1! How is everyone else feeling?

Jfb23 · 13/02/2022 14:04

So sorry everyone for your losses, please look after yourself.

I only have sore boots and I've started on the heartburn already. With my DD I would wake myself up being sick the heartburn was so bad so I'm a little anxious about that starting again.

I'm not sure how it is for everyone else but in my area we just fill out an online form to self refer to the midwifery team. Has anyone else done that yet? I'm only 4w+2 so I think I'm going to wait until I'm at least 5 weeks, maybe even 6

Diamondbabe · 13/02/2022 14:05

@Jfb23 hope your boots stop feeling sore lol

JuniperAndTonic · 13/02/2022 14:18

@WinterBaby131 I’ve been just been eating really plain stuff - crackers, toast and ginger biscuits as apparently ginger helps settled your stomach! And just drinking lots of water. Don’t even fancy my morning (decaff) coffee at the moment!

@HRHXO I’m also struggling with sleep - wake up in the night and my kind is buzzing and can’t drop back off! It’s so annoying. I find the headspace app useful, the sleep casts normally help my brain to switch off and fall back to sleep so might be worth a try! But if you need to nap in the day then nap if you can, it won’t hurt.

@Jfb23 it’s the same in my area - I referred myself last week but only after my early scan - I’d been putting it off as last time I had an early loss and had to cancel it so didn’t want to have to do that again. They contacted me quite quickly last time so think you can wait a bit if you want to but it’s up to you!

ItWillBeFridaySoon · 13/02/2022 14:20

@WinterBaby131

I think dry, plain things are suggested as well as ginger but I've not had much luck with either. Any time I drink seems to stimulate nausea.

However this morning, I did manage 1 egg beaten with a little butter/salt/pepper - put it in the microwave until it was pretty much over cooked then in between 1 slice of bread and that thankfully seemed to settle my stomach.

daisiesandpeonies · 13/02/2022 14:34

Hello all - may I join? Got my BFP this morning ❤️ NHS calculator says due October 16th. This is my second pregnancy - DD is nearly 2!

BecLJ · 13/02/2022 15:16

Sending lots of thoughts and wishes to those experiencing losses xx

So sorry to hear about your dad @LR89 but huge congratulations on your BFP, I hope it brings you some joy at this difficult time.

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits time is definitely dragggiiinnngggg over here too!

@JuniperAndTonic I’m exactly the same - I normally love cheese but I nearly threw up when I tried to eat some macaroni cheese the other day. Gutted!

I had an early private scan this morning and it was amazing to see the heartbeat of our little bean Smile . I’m measuring 7+1 so baby’s EDD is 30th Sept for now. It definitely made things seem more real!

Samthenanny · 13/02/2022 17:06

So sorry to hear of the losses Flowers

@WinterBaby131i ordered this roll on the other day alone with some tummy oil and it does seem to help with the nausea. I’m 6+2 and have felt sick since about 4 weeks

@HRHXO I wake for wees, with cramps or just for nothing, really stuggling atm with lack of sleep.
I also have really sore boobs, I’m amazed how much they’ve grown in a short space of time! Also have bad backache, mines generally on my left side find it hard to sleep that side.
I’ve had cramps every day on and off for about 10days now, some are intense and I need a hot water to soothe them 🤦🏻‍♀️

Due October 2022
thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 13/02/2022 18:57

My teeth are quite sensitive I've noticed, has anyone else got this ? They're abit twingey but don't know if it's hormones or not

daisiesandpeonies · 13/02/2022 19:08

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits yes my teeth and gums feel sensitive -I had this with my last pregnancy too. Stopped by the third trimester

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 13/02/2022 19:27

@daisiesandpeonies is this a common thing then ?

daisiesandpeonies · 13/02/2022 20:00

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits my dentist said so - also to watch out for gum disease as it is more common in pregnancy

summerlovingvibes · 13/02/2022 20:01

Told my DH tonight. Thought I'd wait a few days after I found out as have had a few chemicals so didn't want to raise hopes. He was surprised (I think as we didn't DTD much this month, and he's on medication which has made things a bit difficult for him), but also happy! It's the realisation / sinking in stage for him now. 2 children! Eeek! He also made a joke about it being twins. Nope!!!

Feels a little more real now.

WinterBaby131 · 13/02/2022 20:13

@Samthenanny not come across this will look in to it. Thank you for sharing.

Will try an get the ginger biscuits too, dont know how I'm going to get through the next few weeks at work.

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits yes I had achey teeth and gums for a while.

I don't know if anyone feels like this, but Im starting to have moments where I feel totally overwhelmed with everything. My head just whizzes through all the things I have to do and then it just lingers on the actual birth and I start to panic. The birth if my first was really traumatic and took me years to recover from.

By the way im really enjoying this group, so nice reading what everyones going through and being able to relate, thanks op for setting it up.

Hi all I is anyone else feeling like they're showing already? I've got a 1 year old so I think my body only just about goy back to normal after her..now it seems to be swelling outwards again! Anyone else all going well going to have 2 under 2?? My brain is struggling to get its head round logistics but I feel very lucky for hopefully having 2 children so close in age xx

Hannahbobs · 13/02/2022 20:34

Hi everyone 👋 I got my BFP today (still quite faint for now but🤞) according to the calculator I'm due 21st October! This would be my second, my little girl turned one in October x

Hannahbobs · 13/02/2022 20:41

@Dorset555 yes if all goes well will have 2 under 2! I'm overjoyed but also slightly terrified and wondering what we've let ourselves in for!!

Dorset555 · 13/02/2022 20:47

@hannahbobs exactly this!! I'm just on a mission to get no1 walking asap...dressing herself...eating without making a mess...this is possible right?!?! Haha I'm sure it will be hard work but totally worth it. I'm assuming they will get on like a house on fire once they're a bit older but who knows. Maybe I'm getting ahead if myself a wee bit..its just hard not to think all the things all the time. X

Hannahbobs · 13/02/2022 20:55

@Dorset555 when was your daughter born? Mine is walking but...dressing and eating without mess I think we are years away 🤣 it will all be worth it in the future! I have a few friends who had 2 (or 3!-twins) under 2 at one point and they're all alive to tell the tale 😂 x

Dorset555 · 13/02/2022 20:59

@hannahbobs Grin you're right!
My daughter just turned 1..how about you? Omg twins....I just can't actually wrap my head around that one...!

Diamondbabe · 13/02/2022 21:02

I'm joining the 2 under 2 club with you girls lol what have we let ourselves in for ha ha. I'm nervous but I always wanted a close age gap so I think it will be tough for the first few years but I hope then they'll play with each other - that's what I'm telling myself anyway!

Hannahbobs · 13/02/2022 21:02

Mine was 1 late December! Even though I accidentally typed October in my post above 🙈 not sure I can handle another dose of baby brain, it doesn't seem to have gone yet!
