Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

@HRHXO yes I've got an early scan booked for when I'm 8 and a half weeks definitely nervous but I feel 12 weeks is just way too long to wait!

I've got a scan at 7 weeks, but thats because it's ivf, the fertility clinic do a viability scan to check for a heartbeat before transferring me to ordinary antenatal care. I think I would go private though if I had to wait until 12 weeks, just for reassurance!

Curlywurly3 · 09/02/2022 13:01

I’m going to book an early scan too, at 7 weeks I think. I did it with DD and it was so amazing to see the little Pickle on the screen!

Ivfmummy2be · 09/02/2022 13:08

I can't wait!!! Especially as we had 2 embryos put in....there may be 2 little pickles!!!

Samthenanny · 09/02/2022 13:15

@HRHXO we’ve got one booked in for next Sunday when I’ll be 7 weeks 2 days. I think waiting 12 weeks is too long. I’m hoping I’ll be less anxious once I’ve seen a little heartbeat

HRHXO · 09/02/2022 13:19

Thanks all for letting me know your thoughts on early scans. I agree 12 weeks is too long to wait I'd definitely go mad with worry I guess I just still don't fully believe I'm actually pregnant and worried that by booking anything I'm jinxing myself 😅 probs being silly as I've had 2-3 on my test this week!

Leibee87 · 09/02/2022 13:39

@HRHXO I have an early scan for 7wks booked. I panicked that I'd go to midwifes at 8 weeks and they'd tell me I wasn't pregnant.
12 weeks is far to long.

@KirstyJayne82

Got the 3+ this afternoon.
Exactly 5w or 21dpo today so feeling a bit relieved 😌 despite having no symptoms something is indeed cooking in there.

Welcome and congratulations to all new joiners!

mistyrae · 09/02/2022 14:13

I will try do one now!

Will post the link to Facebook group once it’s up and running; will make sure it’s completely anon so no friends can see you’ve joined :)

KirstyJayne82 · 09/02/2022 14:14

@SunnySideUp2020 yay that's great news. Made me feel the same yesterday- somethings going on in there!
I booked my first midwife appointment (17 March) and 12 week scan (23 March) yesterday- I hope I get there and all ok 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

SunnySideUp2020 · 09/02/2022 14:15

@Leibee87 @littlebear12
I just checked my symptoms notes with my DD 1.5 years ago, boob soreness and nausea was come and go in those early weeks. Probably at its worse week 6/7 then slowly got better.

mistyrae · 09/02/2022 14:17

Hi all, as requested, i have just created a hidden Facebook group for October due dates! Your friends on Facebook won’t be able to see you’ve joined and it is only accessible to request to join with the following link. Still need to finish setting up but happy to accept requests now Smile

Thank you, that's good to hear. My symptoms seem to have come back with a vengeance throughout the day, but the lighter test is still bothering me 😞

Curlywurly3 · 09/02/2022 14:33

Hi @mistyrae I set one up this morning 😊

SunnySideUp2020 · 09/02/2022 15:54

@littlebear12 do you have Pictures? Is it really lighter?
Could it be hook effect? Your hcg is so high it doesnt work?

Diamondbabe · 09/02/2022 15:56

@mooonbaby oh don't worry I still
Eat chorizo lol. Honestly the risk is so so minute, I'd just enjoy yourself that's what I do ha ha x

Ivfmummy2be · 09/02/2022 15:59

I read you can't eat hotdogs? That's one of my comfort foods when I don't feel well!

Diamondbabe · 09/02/2022 16:05

Never heard of that why can't you eat hot dogs? Honestly I'd take all of this with a massive pinch of salt. People have had babies for 1000 of years and eaten and drunk what they liked. I had loads of hot dogs when pregnant before

Attached my progression from the last few days. I don't know if it's the hook effect as I've only had a test that's as dark as the control.

But I've just done a cheaply strip on diluted urine and that seems to be darker than this morning so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm really trying not to stress but my history isn't good ☹️

Apparently risk of listeria, same as deli meats. I wouldn't eat them cold anyway so surely cooking them would be fine?

maybein2022 · 09/02/2022 16:13

Hi all, lovely to have so many of us on here. Hope everyone is doing well.

Symptoms wise I have the heavy boobs people talk about which I didn’t have with my first two, and feeling super tired and a bit nauseous in the afternoons/evening.

Is anyone craving/not able to face anything?

I went to make my normal salad for lunch and really didn’t feel I could eat it, so made a whole meal roll with light spread and marmite and some cucumber and tomatoes instead. I need to really, really watch my weight this time as I already have a high BMI and was losing weight before the pregnancy, so trying to lose a bit more (dr said this was fine) and then not gain any but we shall see.

I’m definitely wanting stuff with salt and also smoothies for some reason. Anyone else?

I’m also wondering about whether I’m having a boy or girl. I have one of each already, and both were so long ago, I can’t really remember if they ‘felt’ different and what this feels like!

Anyone got any inkling as to the sex of their baby?

Diamondbabe · 09/02/2022 16:14

@Curlywurly3 the fb page isn't working for me it just sends me to my timeline. Could you invite me my names Vanessa Parker, picture of me signing my wedding book with husband in the profile. Thank you so much. My group from my little boy is still so active :)

Curlywurly3 · 09/02/2022 16:20

Hi @Diamondbabe I think we have exceeded the clicks again, try again now fb.me/g/2NPJfe0qR/gteQcfz7
Let me know if doesn’t work x

SharkoG · 09/02/2022 16:41

Hi everyone!
New to this thread and mumsnet as well!Smile
(so I'm not familiar with all the abbreviations yet!)
First time pregnant, due 10th October.
I'm 35, decided to start trying and can't believe it worked first cycle!
I got positive on 2 tests but still don't really believe it, especially that I was diagnosed with adenomyosis last year so I was worried and still am that it won't "stick" for long as my uterus is not perfect.. but so far so good so fingers crossed!
I have first blood tests appointment scheduled for early March, and I'm thinking isn't it bit late? And that's not the scan yet. What is the recommended time? I feel like I'm so lost in it as I don't have any friends in UK that had baby.

KirstyJayne82 · 09/02/2022 16:44

@SharkoG

Congratulations! I'm in UK and due 4th Oct (I think) and my first appointment is 17 March so that sounds ok to me.

How you feeling so far? x
