Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

I had an early scan yesterday due to cramping. I should have been 5+4. All that could be seen was a gestational sac which the sonographer said was measuring 'about 5 weeks'. I know my dates are right as I miscarried on Christmas Eve. I didn't have a period and then had a positive pregnancy test on 18th Jan. I've become so stressed with worry as there was no yolk sac or anything visible on yesterdays scan. Im to go back again in 2 weeks but I'm absolutely terrified that it will be a blighted ovum or something similar. 😔

@handbagsandholidays sorry that must be very worrying. Were you tracking ovulation? Is it possible you may have ovulated later?

As far as I know it’s unusual to be able to see anything before 6 weeks even with an internal scan.

I ovulated on 6th January according to Flo and CM that looked like ovulation mucus. That's reassuring to hear as the peanut forum and the internet seems to be littered with people saying they could see a yolk sac/foetal pole in week 5 before a heartbeat and it's had me worrying so much. 😔. Do you think it's worth booking a private scan for 1 weeks time instead of the 2 the epau asked me to wait? I fear I'll drive myself insane over the next 2 weeks x

Hi all, got my positive on Monday! My due date is 11th October. Like others I'm joining this thread with caution as I'm very nervous! The fact that I'm of 'Advanced Maternal Age' adds to my nerves!

This will be our second and we already have a 2.5 year old DS.

123walrus · 02/02/2022 15:39

@handbagsandholidays If you can afford it then ask your self if spending c.£70 will make you feel better. If so then go for it.

I suppose, it's less the cost more whether it's likely that they will be able to see anything more than what they saw yesterday in 7 days time. With my pregnancy 10 years ago, I was 19 and lived in blissful ignorance of risks and things going potentially wrong! I so wish I could go back to that. 😅

123walrus · 02/02/2022 15:57

@handbagsandholidays Look for somewhere which has the facility for an internal scan. I’ve booked Ultrasound Direct and I think they do (although I believe they try external first). That should show at 6+ weeks

Aubyone · 02/02/2022 17:11

We all sound so similar with our testing and worries - really nice to know I'm not alone.

I am only 4w 5, but I still had quite a stash of tests (been trying for a while and assumed I was going to be for longer!) so did a FRER today which stole almost all the dye so that should reassure me. But I have 2 CB how far one's I plan to take one on Friday at 5w - would be happy with 2-3 weeks because my one last week was 1-2 weeks, and then maybe I'll take one at 6w hoping for a 3+. I know it's really not necessary and won't change anything but mayasawell use them up as I have them! I definitely wouldn't go out buying anymore at this stage.

Had a flu jab this Am! Just phoned GP yesterday and asked if any clinics coming up and said just come in tomorrow morning. So I am feeling a bit rough this eve but not sure if that's pregnancy or flu jab!

@syda glad to hear your frer was nice and positive, fingers crossed for you and I hope all is absolutely fine ❤️

Congratulations!!!

@123walrus I will have a look at ultrasound direct. Thank you 😘 My scan yesterday was TV too. I wish there was a way to skip first trimester! It feels like the longest and definitely the most stressful.

@syda I'm pleased to hear your FR test gave you the reassurance you were looking for xxx

KirstyJayne82 · 02/02/2022 18:00

What is advanced maternal age? I must be in that category lol

123walrus · 02/02/2022 18:06

@KirstyJayne82 Usually it means 35+

Leibee87 · 02/02/2022 18:25

Yeah I thought it was 35 upwards (so me 😂)

KirstyJayne82 · 02/02/2022 19:35

Me too 😂

Trying81 · 02/02/2022 19:38

I'm definitely in that category Grin

Samthenanny · 02/02/2022 20:27

Me also 🤣

toddlertired · 02/02/2022 20:33

Ah bum. I think I’m out - had 3 days of bleeding over the weekend and I’ve not got any tests in to check but pretty certain it was a chemical. I just don’t feel pregnant anymore. Good luck to all of you x

HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel · 02/02/2022 20:45

Thank you!! I'm 39 and due date is 4 weeks before my 40th!

123walrus · 02/02/2022 21:21

Really sorry to hear that @toddlertired Look after yourself x

BecLJ · 02/02/2022 21:33

So sorry to hear that @toddlertired I hope you're ok x

I can't believe I'm writing in this group! I had a positive FRER and sensitive Clearblue yesterday at 12dpo. Hoping it will hit me once I get a positive on a regular test in a few days 🤞🏼, I'm still in shock at the moment!

scottishsunshine96 · 03/02/2022 07:14

Have been feeling really calm up until now but I felt a couple of sharp twinges in the night and had brown discharge when I got up this morning. Called the midwife to check and they said as long as it doesn’t persist more than 48 hours to progress to red blood it might not be anything to worry about. Really hope all is ok.

@toddlertired really sorry to hear that- I’ve got my fingers crossed for you x

beths89 · 03/02/2022 07:26

@toddlertired so sorry to hear that, I hope you are okay xx

Leibee87 · 03/02/2022 07:31

Sorry to hear that @toddlertired look after yourself.

Crossing my fingers for you @scottishsunshine96

Congratulations @nouterusnoopinion88

Nikki037297 · 03/02/2022 08:00

@handbagsandholidays I had the exact same 11 years ago, but I was 6 weeks, completely empty sac measuring 6 weeks. Was told they should definitely see something in there by now but at the time I was young and not aware of what she really meant but either way my gut instinct told me I was fine and it would be fine. I had to wait a whole week and when I did go back there was a sac measuring 7 weeks, a yolk sac, and a 7 week fetus, who is now 11, so please don’t worry yourself you were only 5 weeks that’s very normal not to see anything at 5 weeks

Nikki037297 · 03/02/2022 08:02

Is anyone still testing because they are worried??? I can’t stop testing! I bought a bag of 50 tests for £7 and it’s really kept my mind at ease I’m now 19dpo. Iv suffered a lot of chemical pregnancies in the past and Iv been so worried this was going to be another but I do feel a lot more comfortable about my dark line now but I keep having the strangest dream that it’s twins! Is anyone else having strange dreams?
