@PurpleMoon12 yes lots more in second trimester!! No issues after but sometimes we try and I have a bit of pain so then we stop. Haven't had any bleeding or anything but sometimes after an orgasm it kind of feels like my womb is squeezing which is a very odd sensation.

Lostintranslatio · 23/01/2022 20:48

@PurpleMoon12 no issues after sex here at all. Although I thought I would be feeling less tired in general, but I'm still exhausted, so not having much sex 😩

PlodandPod · 23/01/2022 20:51

@Vimto1991 My whooping cough vaccine was on Tuesday and it killed me for 48 hours too. Hope you're feeling better x

TowerStork · 23/01/2022 21:06
@Vimto1991 hope you're not in too much pain and you can get it sorted tomorrow! I'm sure salt washes will keep infection at bay.

I absolutely hate shopping and have completely avoided buying any new clothes. I'm just wearing the baggy things I already had and now have a very limited wardrobe! I'm struggling for bras, I have already had to buy new ones but they're all really thin and my nips are really sensitive so I want more protection!! Anyone have any they really like?
I started wearing sports bras and find them much more comfortable. I'm only a 34B though. I bought a larger one and hope it will stretch with me.

Vimto1991 · 23/01/2022 21:15

@PlodandPod ooooh that sucks, sorry to hear! Hopefully tomorrow I’ll feel better then and can move my arm! 😂

PleaseSendNoodles · 23/01/2022 21:36

@MrsNT Ive been thinking about this. Is there anything about a changing bag that sets it apart from other handbags? I’m trying to work out if I can get away with repurposing something I already own. Not sure what! What needs to go in it? Nappies, wipes, change of clothes, bottles if using?

yellowpinkbluegreen · 23/01/2022 22:09

Had scan on Friday and all looked good! I couldn't believe how much detail you got to see - we saw baby yawning and swallowing and all the little fingers and toes it was just amazing!

We're keeping the sex a surprise... although finding it hard to think of good boy names! Finding girl names much easier...

laurenGame · 23/01/2022 22:35

@beansprout55 my reassurance scans the OB is really fast too, last time didn't even measure the baby.

I've also not once had my blood pressure checked, or weight. Or urine taken! A bit pissed off about this - I lost 3 kgs since before I was pregnant and read that I should have put on 4kgs. That's 7kg that I'm "missing" and OB is none the wiser Hmm

I'm really glad you're reaching out for mental help, I really needed it at times when bleeding wouldn't stop for weeks, when HCG levels only increased by 5%. I look back now and it makes me teary of how scared I felt and just alone with my fear. I wish I reached out and spoke up about it ❤️
It's hard to deal with the tough times now because of our hormones are all over the place.

I now have cramps and they are really scaring me. The fear is just exhausting. Are you still spotting? I was constipated earlier so now will be checking for blood as that seems to aggravate my vaginal bleeding . Big big wooly hugs to you. X

Vimto1991 · 23/01/2022 23:02

@PurpleMoon12 we tried but I kinda freaked out I’d do damage. I was so anxious I just couldn’t get into it and don’t really care for it at the moment. DH is being understanding but I feel awful.
I’ve been having sex dreams where i orgasm and it wakes me up with really bad cramps so I’m terrified of having an orgasm, too.

MrsNT · 23/01/2022 23:37

@flowerbug1994 im getting a babyzen yoyo2. I havent seen a bag for it.i want one that is backpack style.

@pleasesendnoodles its supposed to have extra compartments for wipes, bottles etc type stuff.had a look at amazon but they look huge. Not sure where to buy. Retail store ones are expensive!

TTCjourney2021 · 24/01/2022 05:56

Just rejoining the new thread if that's okay! Congratulations everybody on their 20 week scans!! Lots of boys! So happy for you all!

Can I just ask..

Does anyone else feel like it's such a long wait? I feel like I'm in limbo now and all my symptoms have eased? I can sleep again and no sickness etc! So feel like I'm constantly worrying if everything is still ok xx

Lostintranslatio · 24/01/2022 07:21

@TTCjourney2021 Same here. Im 17+5 today and I still three more weeks to the scan 😩 Im still very exhausted and putting on weight very slowly, which it is a reassurance.

RoseValleyRambles · 24/01/2022 08:13

Eugh. I just had the most awful, achey nights sleep. Think I overdid it this weekend (trimming the hedge seems to have been the last straw) and had really achey abs, which made timing over horrid and just generally left me worried. Seems better this am, but what I wouldn't give for a nice nap on my back...

Turniptracker · 24/01/2022 08:30

Omg @RoseValleyRambles are you me? We also did a major hedge trimming this weekend and it almost wiped me out. I did discover something fascinating/horrifying though. I randomly checked the heart rate/calories burnt section of my fit bit and it said it had burnt almost 1000 calories that day. No wonder I was bloody starving. It seems like everything takes literally twice as much effort now as it did before pregnancy.

RoseValleyRambles · 24/01/2022 08:34

Hah! That explains why I was so knackered. :) I think it's probably quite abs intensive too, so in retrospect, maybe not the best pregnancy activity.

Well done to us for getting it done before nesting season, though.

Turniptracker · 24/01/2022 08:38

@RoseValleyRambles exactly, both our nesting and their nesting season 😁

I picked up a changing bag in Tesco last summer for £20, it's a black backpack style. Not huge but fits in all the changing bits along with my sons pack lunches/water bottle etc. it's really useful as has two straps to strap on to pram handles so will be reusing it for the baby!
So supermarkets might be a good shout for something not too expensive/big.

Prema112 · 24/01/2022 09:05

@beansprout55 So glad to hear baby is ok ❤️ Hope you can relax a bit until next scan. How are things with your DH?

Ahhh it's all coming back to me now! We had this cool fold up changing mat with came with pouches for wipes & nappies, so so useful to just grab & go with. Can't remember the make... it was black and white. I think if you're bottle feeding it's really useful to have a changing bag with specific bottle holders to keep them upright, if not then changing bags aren't so essential and they are expensive

Flowerbug1994 · 24/01/2022 09:20

How’s everyone been with coffee I stopped drinking it when I got pregnant, but have had a 2 latte’s in the past few days. Am already in a bit of a frenzy over a large abdominal circumference on my scan on Friday. What’s everyone’s coffee intake ?

ALHCTPS · 24/01/2022 09:23

@Roxystar23 I’m having another boy. There are great things about either gender, but thing is knowing means letting go of the other option, which of course is a little sad. My son is thrilled he’s getting a brother, and, aside from choosing a name, it’s a much easier option, as I know what I’m doing (at the risk of being too gendered, I can barely plait my own hair let alone someone else’s - what if I had a really girly girl?), but I’m a little sad my son won’t have a small opinionated sister to challenge him, and we won’t be able to see what’s the Y chromosome at work and what’s simply our full-on genes.

@MrsNT - were you asking about changing bags? Get one of you want to treat yourself, and specific pockets are always handy (I had one which had a pocket with thermal lining to keep the bottle the right temp), but, genuinely, any bag will do. I streamlined down to a small backpack if I knew I was only planning to be out for an hour or so, as you tend to find yourself lugging SO much everywhere.

ALHCTPS · 24/01/2022 09:26

@Vimto1991I got some super comfy non-underwired maternity bras that work for feeding too from Boob Design. Not cheap but they do lots of sales so I got several for about £20 each. I’d happily wear them non-pregnant too. Spent yesterday packing away all my underwires for the time being - no way I’m wearing anything like that any time soon. My boobs feel so tight and sensitive. www.boobdesign.com/products/maternity-underwear/the-go-to-triangle-bra-tofu-l

Lostintranslatio · 24/01/2022 09:38

@Flowerbug1994 I could not stand coffee during the first trimester. I can take now 1 or 2 decaffeinated coffees with loooots of milk 😂

Flowerbug1994 · 24/01/2022 09:41

@Lostintranslatio I possibly should go on decaf then because am not relying on the caffeine I just want something warm of a morning and tea isn’t my fave. I don’t know what’s wrong with me am second guessing everything since my scan

Lostintranslatio · 24/01/2022 09:45

@Flowerbug1994 Were they concerned about the ab circumference during the scan? Did they make any comments on it?

InvisibleDragon · 24/01/2022 09:47

@Flowerbug1994 I didn't have coffee in the first trimester because the thought of it was completely revolting, bit I'm drinking some coffee again now. I have a diluted instant coffee most mornings and maybe a cup of tea in the afternoon. But when I was on holiday in early January I had a proper milky latte type a few times. I still appear to be pregnant, so I don't think it's done any harm! I think a large abdomen is quite normal at this stage in the baby's development - I had a private scan at 16 weeks and the sonographer said something about the baby having a "big belly" but that it was absolutely normal. I don't think you need to worry!

DH and I moved house this weekend. Finally in our lovely new flat where the ceiling doesn't leak, the walls aren't damp and there isn't a chronic mould problem Absolute bliss. But oh my word the boxes. The furniture. Hauling a sofa up a narrow flight of stairs may have been a comedy taster for giving birth
